The spiritual insect manual records that Bloodthirsty Worms have a characteristic – they never pass up food, especially the pure Wood Spiritual Energy. The Bloodthirsty Worm loitered outside the sphere for so ti, glanced back at the house behind it, then burrowed in. Lan Tian imdiately closed the opening, trapping the Bloodthirsty Worm inside, slowly moved the Spiritual Fire Ball at the heart outwards, and tucked it into the Sleeve Universe.

Having done all this, Lan Tian noticed a layer of sweat on her forehead. She cald her excited emotions, wiped the sweat away, waved her hand, and Ji Feng floated back onto the bed. She removed the Spiritual Energy around Mo Junhua, retracted the Array inside the room, and stepped outside.

Today’s sunlight was exceptionally brilliant, the vast sky, blue heavens and white clouds, dense forests in the distance, and naless wildflowers blossoming furiously. Looking at these beautiful scenes, her heart broadened.

"Girl?" Mr. Mo was resting in the yard when he heard the sound of a door upstairs. Turning around, he saw Lan Tian leaning on the railing and imdiately ’thump thump thump’ ran upstairs, with the idiot Su Qing following behind.

"Grandpa, Ji Feng no longer has to endure that heart-wrenching pain," Lan Tian said calmly and then went downstairs, leaving a group of petrified people below. By the ti Mr. Mo rembered to ask Lan Tian, she had already disappeared without a trace.

Three days later, Ji Feng woke up. The two guards at the door cried and laughed when they saw him awake, lacking any of the ’bleed but don’t cry’ tough image of a soldier.

The Bloodthirsty Worm had resided within Ji Feng’s body for over twenty years. It had begun to assimilate with Ji Feng, and suddenly being extracted by Lan Tian was equivalent to sucking away Ji Feng’s life force. He looked much weaker than before, needing support to walk, but this was only temporary. Once he recuperated his vital essence and spirit, this situation would no longer occur.

"Xiao Lan," Ji Feng helplessly rolled his eyes at Lan Tian and handed her so tea, "Try this, see if my skills have gotten rusty."

Lan Tian glanced at that seductive face, curled her lips in disdain – how could he bla her if he was staring dumbfoundedly?

Ji Feng’s face was now androgynous, his peach blossom eyes adorned with countless stars. It seed as if one could see the twinkling starlight when their eyes moved, corners of his eyes and brows were filled with charm, lips slightly curved in a quasi-smile, looking at people as if they were beloveds doted upon heartily.

"Do I look good?" Ji Feng asked Lan Tian with a curved smile.

"Good looking." Lan Tian reached out to touch his face, unaccustod to seeing Ji Feng’s new face after being used to his old one – it didn’t seem real, like a dream.

Ji Feng opened his arms, expressing his feelings, "Beautiful girl, welco to co and see anyti."

Lan Tian had grown accustod to Ji Feng’s occasional bouts of weirdness; they had been together for decades in a previous life. Any discomfort had been smoothed over by the years.

Su Qing, digging a hole not far away, felt sothing off about the two: "Old man, don’t you think they’re acting quite strange?"

"What could be strange? Your Camp Commander’s Wife is his lifesaver, naturally, he will treat her specially. Don’t be like a country bumpkin who has never seen the world, getting worked up over nothing." Even though Mr. Mo also found it odd, he would never admit it for the sake of his granddaughter’s reputation.

"How did you co back?" After letting her hand rest for a while, Lan Tian withdrew, thinking that she might never see him again in this lifeti. Mortals perished under the Heavenly Tribulation – who knew if they would have a chance at reincarnation. And the Ji Feng she encountered decades later wasn’t the sa Ji Feng from her previous life.

"When I was enveloped in darkness, I saw a dazzling white light emitting from your body. By the ti I woke up, I had already arrived here. Then I thought if I could co back, perhaps you could too. I sent many people out, quietly searching. I haven’t found you after so many years. You never told where you were from; looking for soone nad ’Lan Tian’ was like searching for a needle in the ocean. I even thought about giving up. Back then, I thought maybe you didn’t return and went to another space."

Lan Tian remained silent; so Ji Feng had also been brought back by the Personal Space.

"What’s your relationship with this body? It bears about forty to fifty percent resemblance to you?" Lan Tian propped her chin with one hand, her smile brimming with malice, "This body can’t possibly be your father, can it?"

The thought of the son wearing the father’s body and eventually marrying his mother was too marvelous to imagine.

Ji Feng knew from Lan Tian’s expression what she was thinking and couldn’t help but tweak her nose tip, "What are you thinking about? This body is ; I just returned to my own body."

Halfway through her laugh, Lan Tian suddenly stopped, "This body is yours?"

Ji Feng nodded.

"Wait a mont, let think," Lan Tian raised her hand to stop Ji Feng from speaking, "You an, this body was originally yours, not the one from your past life? Then how did you end up in Ji Feng’s body decades later?"

How confusing! Lan Tian rubbed her head.

"Listen to explain it slowly, here’s how it went: my original na was Ji Feng, and I died at the age of thirty..." When he died, he had a five-year-old son. When he opened his eyes again and saw an enlarged face of his son, he knew sothing was wrong. On his son’s first birthday, his son took him back to the old house to worship their ancestors, and Ji Feng was completely overwheld. He was reborn in his daughter-in-law’s belly, in his grandson’s body, and what was crucial was that he was born from a womb.

His son nad him Ji Feng, with the character for ’wood’ in ’Feng’ which has the sa pronunciation as his own na, to honor him. Fortunately, his son did well, had many grandchildren, and the Mo Family regained prosperity under his son’s leadership. He was the youngest in the family and also the most favored, so he never called his son and daughter-in-law "parents," and no one in the family ever noticed.

Lan Tian understood, "So, you’re saying you were reborn into your grandson’s body and now you’ve returned."

Ji Feng nodded.

Lan Tian looked at Ji Feng with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, "Your adventure could make quite a novel."

Changing the subject wasn’t what he wanted.

"What exactly is inside my body?" Ji Feng was more eager to find that out—only by unraveling the mystery could he find the culprit behind it all.

"What’s inside your body is a Bloodthirsty Worm, a type of spiritual insect from the Cultivation World, living in places with dense Spiritual Energy. They are very rare, and even places with dense Spiritual Energy might not contain them. They feed specifically on people’s vitality, and even within thousands of years, they might not be found in the Cultivation World. This plane has scarce Spiritual Energy; it’s tough for Bloodthirsty Worms to survive here, let alone a pair of mother and offspring."

The implication of Lan Tian’s words was clear.

Ji Feng pondered for a while before looking up at Lan Tian, "You an there’s another cultivator like you in Beijing."

After taking a sip of tea, Lan Tian slowly said, "Perhaps!"

This world was very different from the one she was familiar with in her past life. She wasn’t sure if it was because of her rebirth that was causing the world to change, or if it was always like this and she just didn’t know.

Ji Feng still found it hard to believe, "I’ve lived in Beijing for decades, and apart from you, I’ve never heard of any other cultivators there. Those people in power, high-ranking and influential, a few of whom want to die—if they knew there was a dicine for immortality, they would do anything to get it."

Lan Tian didn’t understand these power gas and after a while she said, "Drawing conclusions now is too early. We’ll see when we get to Beijing. How does your body feel? Anything uncomfortable?"

"No, I feel very good," Ji Feng shook his head, "I’m not as weak as you think."

Lan Tian rolled her eyes at him and gestured for Ji Feng to hand over his arm. Ji Feng smiled, and seeing Lan Tian’s insistence, he helplessly extended his arm. Lan Tian hooked her lower lip, placed her fingers on his wrist to check his pulse, and after a while, confird that his physical recovery was quite good before withdrawing her hand.

Ji Feng took a sip of tea, glanced at Lan Tian, then took another sip, seemingly lost in thought.
