Chapter 36: Twin Fla
Ezekiel quickly sent word to Lurio through one of his royal pigeons. He hadn’t done so a while ago and instead had simply let Tarah seek the wizard out personally because Vulcan’s soul was still in control over him during his struggle. He had feared that he might end up hurting Tarah if she was near him, so he thought it was best for her to go away in the anti.
Still, while he didn’t know what kind of language and spell Tarah cast on him before, it clearly worked for the mont since Vulcan couldn’t do anything to him other than annoy him with his grumbling voice and nonsense offers and suggestions. The dragon was crazy. It would act cool and try to tempt him in one mont, then curse him during another, especially whenever he wouldn’t respond to it.
"You should rest," Ezekiel told Tarah, who continued writing in her journal after eating.
Seeing her now, he couldn’t help but reminisce on how Seer Beirut had the sa habit of writing everything he saw in his own journal. He also noticed that the awful scent from earlier had already disappeared.
[Of course, it would, dimwit!] Vulcan pointed out. [She took a bath and changed into a new set of clothes!]
Tarah closed her journal before turning to him. "I think I found a way to remove the dragon scales from so parts of your body."
[What a nuisance!] Vulcan growled.
Ezekiel ignored the dragon and simply creased his forehead as he stared at Tarah. "How?"
"I put everything I know in this journal, details that might help ," Tarah explained. "In the previous vision I got, I saw myself reading an ancient scroll. So from that mory alone, I managed to have a proper glimpse of the languages and so of the important and useful spells that Dragonriders used."
From there, Ezekiel simply listened as she elaborated on everything that they needed to know. He was so srized by her simply talking and explaining like that.
Her scent lingered inside the cave and he found it very pleasing and intoxicating. He was aware of how werewolves would often experience and acknowledge their mates through their scent, and he couldn’t help but wonder if it was the sa thing happening to him.
It wasn’t the angel blood in him making him behave like this, but the dragon residing in him. But then, that should be impossible since dragons were not like werewolves or vampires that had human forms.
[I’ll be the first of my kind to have a human form,] Vulcan taunted. [Thanks to your angel blood, anything is possible!]
Ignoring Vulcan’s words, Ezekiel curiously questioned, [Tarah is your mate?]
[There’s no way I will allow that! It’s the damn spirit who chose and acknowledged her, but I will not let it happen,] Vulcan quickly denied.
[A dragonrider like her will simply die by my hands. But co to think of it, once I take over your body and expel your soul and spirit from it, then she could be a perfect breeder. Like a twin fla... Maybe I won’t kill her just yet. I might just make sure to free my Queen’s soul and let it rge with another of your kind. Maybe her, in fact.]
Ezekiel’s face darkened in disgust at Vulcan’s thoughts. He didn’t respond, but he noted what the dragon was saying. It was too confident that it could take over his body. He simply shook his head and then turned to Tarah. She opened her journal again as if to read sothing from it. After a mont, he raised his eyebrow when she subconsciously talked to herself.
"I saw a vision that Vulcan’s soul and spirit will be extracted from you, but there is sothing that I honestly can’t confirm yet," she mumbled aloud. "It’s like a red mist separated from Vulcan’s soul, hovering above your unconscious body. If my interpretation is right, then it could be the dragon spirit."
Tarah then turned to look at him. Moving, she got up to approach him. She then closed the remaining gap between them and sat in front of him.
"Your Highness, can you give
your hands?" Tarah asked him.
Despite not knowing why, Ezekiel showed Tarah his hands, and she held them with hers as she wanted.
[This bjtch!] Vulcan barked aloud, and Ezekiel couldn’t help but grip tightly onto Tarah’s hand with how much he could feel Vulcan’s rage. It was trying to take over his body again he managed to suppress it.
"The spirit of the dragon is the one that holds power while the soul has the power to command it. I’m a healer whose forte is using my mana for inner energies and repairing it," Tarah explained once more. "Let
see if I can navigate through your inner energies and see the connection between the dragon’s spirit and yours. I need to confirm sothing."
Ezekiel nodded, and he waited for Vulcan’s rants, but none ca. Perhaps the dragon was staying quiet for now knowing that its words might give him knowledge of its weaknesses.
With their hands still together, Tarah gestured to him to close his eyes. Once he did, he felt her soothing energy entering him, and he unknowingly inhaled her pleasing scent. He truly loved her sll, and it was drawing him closer to her. Things were now clear to him, and it was because of the dragon’s spirit acknowledging Tarah as its twin fla.
He had heard about it from Lurio on how so dragons had their destined twin flas. However, not all dragons would experience that. It was the sa with werewolves in that not all of their kind would experience the matebond. Still, he wouldn’t deny the fact that he was physically attracted to his Seer despite knowing he shouldn’t feel that way.
A few monts later, Ezekiel suddenly flinched as he felt sothing tightening inside his chest. Even more, sothing sharp began grazing at the inside of his head.
"It’s alright. Just relax, your Highness. I’m almost there..." Tarah reassured him. "I can see its spirit and yours. Your spirit and Vulcan’s spirit are rging. The dragon’s spirit is giving in-"
"No!"
Ezekiel shouted as he abruptly pulled his hands away from Tarah. It wasn’t him obviously, but Vulcan. He didn’t know how the dragon was doing it, but it suddenly managed to control his body. He felt the fire consuming his body. He was in great pain, and his whole body burned.
He then looked at Tarah nacingly as Vulcan spoke, "What are you going to do now, little Seer? He’s mine."
