Chapter 266: The King and Queen

The palace grounds were transford into a fairy tale setting, adorned with intricate floral arrangents, elegant drapery, and gleaming decorations that reflected the royal colors of gold and white.

As the sun climbed higher, a few selected guests from all corners of the kingdom and beyond began to arrive. Nobles and court officials including the province and town heads of Ebodia filled the vast courtyard of Jade Palace, each dressed in their finest attire.

The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the harmonious lodies of musicians who played softly, setting a serene yet festive tone. The entire kingdom of Ebodia was abuzz with excitent, and the atmosphere was electric with anticipation.

Ezekiel, resplendent in his regal attire, stood at the altar with his parents by his side. His outfit was a masterful creation, a white tunic with intricate black and gold dragon-scale designs that shimred in the light. His crown, a symbol of his sovereignty, rested proudly on his head.

Delegates from Zion were seated in the sa row as Ezekiel’s sisters and their families. Although he and Katelina were already a couple, having this formal union was still very important so the whole world would know that she was his chosen queen and the lifeti partner he wanted in his life.

anwhile, in her private chamber, Katelina was a vision of ethereal beauty. Her wedding dress was a masterpiece, flowing white fabric that seed to float around her like a cloud.

The bodice was adorned with delicate lace and subtle hints of gold and black, mirroring Ezekiel’s outfit and symbolizing their union. Her veil, sheer and elegant, frad her face perfectly, and her hair was styled in a way that highlighted her natural beauty.

The ceremony comnced with a grand procession. Katelina, escorted by her brother Levi, walked down the aisle, her steps steady and graceful.

That was until she heard a familiar voice...

She halted and quickly looked around, her face paling as eyes turned toward her.

"Sister? What’s wrong? Let’s continue," Levi whispered beside her.

[Kate, it’s alright. I’m coming to you,] she heard Ezekiel’s reassuring voice through their bond.

"Do you really think you can get away from ?"

"No," she whispered. Devon’s voice felt so real, as if he had just whispered those words in her ear.

"He’s here..." she muttered, her body trembling. She was about to lose her balance, but she felt Ezekiel’s familiar warmth on her hand and around her waist.

"I’ll take your sister from here, Levi," Ezekiel said with a smile. In that mont, he scooped her into his arms.

Then Ezekiel turned in Apollo’s direction and gave his cousin a aningful look. "Looks like our king can’t wait for the bride to arrive!" Apollo imdiately jested, making the sudden tension dissipate and be replaced with laughter.

"Apologies, the walking is taking too long!" Ezekiel humorously replied.

Katelina’s cheeks flushed deeply as she said through the bond, [I’m sorry... I heard his voice, Kiel, as if he’s here, watching .]

Ezekiel smiled at her, kissed her head, and whispered, "I’m here, Kate. I love you and I will protect you."

As they approached the makeshift altar in the courtyard, Ezekiel gently put her down with his hands holding hers. She t Ezekiel’s eyes, and for a mont, the world seed to fade away...

and look only at , Kate," he lovingly whispered and she nodded with a smile.

The officiant, the High Priest Sergio began the ceremony with a blessing, invoking the heavens to bestow their favor upon the couple. He spoke of love, duty, and the responsibilities that ca with their roles. As he spoke, the audience listened in rapt attention, the weight of the occasion settling over them.

When it was ti for the vows, Ezekiel took Katelina’s hands in his. His voice, usually firm and authoritative, was soft and filled with emotion. "Katelina, from the mont I t you, I knew you were destined to be by my side. Today, I vow to protect you, to cherish you, and to love you with all that I am. Together, we will face whatever challenges co our way and lead our people with wisdom and compassion."

Katelina’s eyes glistened with unshed tears as she responded. "Ezekiel, you have shown

strength, kindness, and love beyond asure. I vow to stand by you, to support you, and to love you with all my heart. Together, we will create a future filled with hope and happiness for our kingdom."

The exchange of rings followed, each placing a beautifully crafted band on the other’s finger. As they did, a collective sigh of joy swept through the crowd. The rings, symbols of their eternal commitnt, glead brightly, catching the light.

Finally, the High Priest declared them husband and wife. "By the power vested in , I now pronounce you King Ezekiel and Queen Katelina of Ebodia. May your reign be long and prosperous."

The mont Ezekiel leaned in to kiss Katelina, a cheer erupted from the crowd. The kiss was tender and full of promise, sealing their union before all who had gathered. As they turned to face their people, the courtyard filled with applause, the sound echoing through the palace grounds.

Queen Mother Dana placed the newly made crown on Katelina’s head. Then, with a voice full of pride and authority, Ezekiel announced, "I present to you all, the new Queen of Ebodia. Queen Katelina Grimaldi Ward!"

The sound of trumpets filled the air, and the cheers of the crowd grew louder.

"Long live the king and queen!"

Katelina gave her widest and sweetest smile, despite how her heart was still thumping hard. Ezekiel held her hand firmly, and she knew he could feel how cold her hand was.

Feeling a bit dizzy, she was grateful Ezekiel never left her side. He held her in his arms as they proceeded to the reception inside the grand hall. He led her to her seat close to his and never let go of her hand as they started receiving congratulations and well-wishes from everyone.
