The familiar scent reminded her of the person’s identity, allowing Su Ruan to relax imdiately.
"I thought..." she couldn’t hold back her tears, letting out a small sob.
Lu Shinian gently patted her back, his voice hoarse, "I’m fine."

Above Lu Shinian and Su Ruan’s head, the tiny black cat stood atop the much larger Snow Wolf’s head, waving its little paws, looking proud.
Below, the Snow Wolf carried on silently, not daring to walk too fast, fearing the invisible wind might catch the little black cat.
The Snow Wolf was like a silent knight protecting its little black cat princess, bowing its head only for it, for only the little black cat could stand atop its proud head and mischievously command it.
Su Ruan occasionally lifted her eyes, catching a glimpse of this scene, blinking and bursting into laughter.
The tears in her eyes had vanished, leaving behind a complete sense of reliance.
Lu Shinian heard her laughter and naturally asked, "What is Ruan Ruan laughing at?"
Su Ruan pointed upward, "Our companion beasts seem to get along well."
Lu Shinian glanced up.
"Hmm."
From a certain perspective, companion beasts were actually his incarnation.
Though he didn’t much care for his companion beast Snow Wolf’s lovesick expression, Lu Shinian was very aware that his extent of infatuation with his little wife was no less than Snow Wolf’s.

Su Ruan lightly huffed, accepting his statent.
Soon, the couple arrived ho, and Lu Shinian lowered her onto the bed, squatting down to help remove her shoes.
Su Ruan’s ankle was slightly swollen, likely twisted while searching for Lu Shinian earlier.
Lu Shinian’s palm felt scorching as he gently covered her ankle, massaging it.
At the sa ti, he slowly started speaking, "There was a fight over there, it happened suddenly, I didn’t have ti to tell you."
Although he was prepared for the situation, there were too many people on the opposing side, and he had a very limited number of people he could use, he had to utilize those scarce individuals to the fullest.

He apologized, his brow casting a slight shadow.

Su Ruan focused on his face.
Due to angle and shadows, she couldn’t clearly see his facial expression but replied, "I was worried about you."
She covered her belly, quietly speaking, "I don’t want the father of my child to encounter misfortune."
Lu Shinian paused the large hand massaging Su Ruan’s ankle for a second, then resud calmly.
"Ruan Ruan is truly adorable."
He softly murmured.
Wanting to devour her whole.
Su Ruan couldn’t recall how many tis Lu Shinian praised her for being adorable; she used to protest against it, now she could accept it with composure.
