The Snow Wolf continued to stare intently at Su Ruan’s belly.

The faint vitality seed to be crying for help.

"There’s a little cub," he whispered, cautiously bending down, his furry wolf ear pressed against Su Ruan’s small belly.

Su Ruan instinctively reached for her own belly.

Having a little cub ans... she’s pregnant?

This completely exceeded Su Ruan’s expectations.

Due to the low birth rate in the Federation, Su Ruan never thought she would get pregnant before the age of thirty.

In her view, being able to get pregnant at thirty was already the best scenario.

She didn’t expect to be pregnant at twenty-one.

Because of the Federation’s low birth rate, society as a whole does not advocate for contraception, and naturally, they didn’t use any protection.

She always thought she wouldn’t get pregnant within a few years.

Su Ruan bit her lip, feeling a bit panicked inside.

Especially when she saw the joyful yet bewildered look on the Snow Wolf’s face, an inexplicable grievance surged in her heart.

Su Ruan’s fingertips trembled slightly, staring blankly at the Snow Wolf cautiously approaching her.

A tear unexpectedly fell onto the Snow Wolf’s paw.

The Snow Wolf looked up at her, feeling as if an invisible hand was gripping his heart, the pain was extraordinary.

His paw gently caressed Su Ruan’s cheek.

"Don’t cry."

His voice was muffled, as if he was about to cry too.

"The little cub is fine."

But it sounded sowhat weak.

Su Ruan quickly blinked, surprised at her sudden sentintality.

She actually hoped he could beco human and accompany her, but at the mont, that was beyond his control.

At least, he was still by her side.

Su Ruan lightly pressed her lips together and replied softly, "Mm, as long as everything is fine."

"I’ll be more careful these days."

The arrival of the little cub was unexpected, and she couldn’t recklessly use her spiritual power like before.

She had never been pregnant nor taken any related courses, and for a mont, didn’t know how to handle this unexpected new life.

The only thing she was sure of was that both she and he were eagerly anticipating the little cub’s arrival.

Su Ruan collected herself and nestled into the Snow Wolf’s embrace.

"A bit sleepy."

She closed her eyes, and with those words, fell into a deep slumber.

The Snow Wolf carefully held her in his arms, gently patting her back with his paw.

The arrival of the little cub also left the Snow Wolf at a loss, deciding not to fight with those Exotic Beasts for the ti being.

That was too childish.

He was going to be a father, a Snow Wolf father, and couldn’t be so immature anymore!

He never considered the possibility that the little cub in the girl’s belly might be soone else’s; he instinctively believed the cub was his.

Perhaps, apart from that, he wouldn’t accept any other possibility.

The Snow Wolf hardly slept all night, fearful of crushing Su Ruan in deep slumber.

anwhile, Su Ruan didn’t sleep soundly; it seed like she had many dreams, of past lives and this life, vague and entangling.

Because of so many dreams, Su Ruan rarely slept until noon.

The Black Eagles were already waiting outside.

Not wanting to delay them, Su Ruan still rose as usual to help purify those plants.

The Snow Wolf, staying up all night to watch over Su Ruan, nudged her fingertips affectionately after she woke up and got busy, feeling sorry for her.

"Take a break," he murmured.

Su Ruan rubbed his big head and replied, "Alright."

The Black Eagle glanced at her and ca over with concern, "Are you not feeling well?"

"Not bad," Su Ruan smiled, "I might be pregnant."

The Black Eagle’s pupils shrank, "Pregnant?"

"You have a little cub?" Black Eagle looked straight at Su Ruan’s belly, stopping her from continuing to purify the plants, "In that case, you should rest and stop doing these things."

Exotic Beasts generally have a higher birth rate than the Federation and Empire, but their survival rate is extrely low.

Most cubs don’t survive past two months, constantly besieged by hunger and danger, always a step away from death.

That’s why Exotic Beasts hold their cubs dear.

Perhaps the cherishing of young life is a shared sentint among all creatures.

All in all, upon hearing Su Ruan was pregnant, Black Eagle imdiately advised her to rest, as purifying plants wasn’t sothing urgent.

Having already purified so plants today, Su Ruan accepted Black Eagle’s kind advice and returned to the cabin to rest.

The Snow Wolf stayed by her side, watching her with worry and uncertainty.

At the sa ti, on Wanling Star of the Empire.

In a central manor, a well-dressed woman in a qipao had her long hair elegantly tied up, gentle and poised, holding a white chess piece, lightly tapping it as she placed it in the center.

Seated opposite her was soone in uniform, with long hair tied high, her features sharp and striking, with an air of elegance and bravery. Holding a black chess piece, she placed it next to the white piece.

Both were undoubtedly beauties, ti seemingly having left little mark on them, only enhancing their grace.

"Han Jing, I might have a grandson or granddaughter now." the gentle woman spoke softly, "Last night, the detection system I left by Xiao Nian’s side detected soone pregnant near him."

This gentle person was Lu Shinian’s mother, Lu Zhiya.

She was also the leader of Wanling Star.

Sitting across from her was Su Ruan’s mother, Su Hanjing.

Upon hearing this, Su Hanjing raised an eyebrow, "It seems we won’t beco in-laws."

She placed a black chess piece down, "Do you know the reason for the commotion on Zero Star?"

"Yes." Lu Zhiya lightly responded, "Zero received a report of a hundred percent signal from the co-scheduling."

"Tsk." Su Hanjing tutted softly.

Even though she had lived in the Empire for twenty years, she, as a Federation person, still found the Empire’s co-scheduling frustrating.

Especially the enforcent of marriage due to high co-scheduling—she found it utterly lacking in humanity.

It was procreation for the sake of procreation.

No wonder there hadn’t been a single newborn in ten years.

Lu Zhiya chuckled, "Oh well, since it’s such, I won’t interfere."

"My husband is still waiting for at ho; I need to get back."

Lu Zhiya pressed down on Su Hanjing’s hand as she got up, "Leaving because you’re losing?"

Su Hanjing: ...

"Aren’t you tired of Five-in-a-Row yet?" Su Hanjing casually picked up a black piece and placed it down.

Lu Zhiya curled her lips, placed a white piece down, connecting five pieces together, and smiled, "I win."

"Yes, yes, you win." Su Hanjing rolled her eyes with exasperation, "If you miss that bastard Qin Cheng, why not go back to the Federation? Is playing Five-in-a-Row with every day fun?"

Lu Zhiya laughed more gently, "Yes, it is."
