Capítulo 1430: Chapter 1429: eting Gift

The two young won were both wearing the newest clothes. As the weather was getting colder, most people afraid of the cold had already wrapped themselves in fur coats.

But these young won, who loved beauty, were still wearing fitted cotton jackets and jackets with skirts underneath, draped in fur capes. The ticulous ones even had fluffy trimmings sewn onto the collars and cuffs of their jackets.

These two young won were indeed ticulous. Upon entering the flower hall, the room was warm and cozy, and the fragrance of so pleasant scent wafted through the air.

The capes could no longer stay on; they took them off to reveal the clothes underneath, which were light red jackets with skirts.

Previously wrapped in their capes, no one noticed, but upon seeing this, the Wan Family’s eldest miss and the Quan Family’s eldest miss both darkened their expressions and glared at each other fiercely.

Each felt the other was too sneaky and annoying, wearing the sa color of clothing as herself.

Thus, they couldn’t care less about the Magistrate’s Lady; more importantly, the other looked so good, seemingly younger with a tender little face.

Anyway, unable to compare, the two young won admitted defeat straightforwardly.

The remaining traces of dissatisfaction were directed entirely at each other, throwing eye daggers at no cost.

Wang Yongzhu saw this and couldn’t help but laugh as he praised, “What a pair of beautiful sisters!”

Only then did Lady Qu and Lady Chen introduce their daughters a bit sheepishly.

The Wan Family’s eldest miss and the Quan Family’s eldest miss walked forward politely and paid their respects.

Wang Yongzhu had already prepared eting gifts in advance, presenting each of them with a twisted silver bracelet inlaid with pearls. The style of the bracelet was a new trendy pattern from the Capital City. Although the pearls weren’t large, their size was perfectly round.

The two young won quickly took a liking to them, happily expressed their gratitude, and put them on their wrists, defiantly stretching out their arms to see who wore them better.

Lady Qu and Lady Chen found it hard to watch, glaring at their own daughters several tis, but they didn’t react, so they had to apologize to Wang Yongzhu.

Wang Yongzhu waved her hand, saying, “These young won are so lively and adorable; they instantly make people fond of them. Please, the two madams, don’t restrain them too much; treat this as your own ho.”

After hearing this, the two young won looked at the bracelets on their wrists, instantly putting away any prior grievances, and thought Wang Yongzhu was truly as good as their mother had said, indeed an excellent Magistrate’s Lady.

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, they went to pay their respects to Old Granny Zhang.

Old Granny Zhang and Wang Yongzhu were quite in tune, already having discussed it beforehand. When she saw the two young won from the Wan and Quan families, she didn’t hold back on her praises, making the two young won blush with embarrassnt.

After asking their ages, she took out two small silver animal-shaped trinkets from her pocket, giving them to the two young won, telling them to hold them for fun.

The young won had never seen such intricately designed little silver ingots and were overjoyed to hold them in their hands.

Lady Qu and Lady Chen kept expressing their gratitude, not expecting this Madam to be so generous, and the old lady to be equally generous, making them even more embarrassed.

Before they could exchange further pleasantries, more guests began to arrive successively.

Lady Qu and Lady Chen volunteered to help introduce the guests.

When so guests brought their daughters, Wang Yongzhu sincerely asked the Wan Family’s eldest miss and the Quan Family’s eldest miss to help take care of them.

The two young won couldn’t resist such gentle words and imdiately patted their chests, agreeing.

When the female heads of the households arrived, Lady Qu and Lady Chen assisted in receiving them, with Old Granny Zhang presiding over, and even those older in years were brought over, quickly finding common ground to talk about.

The unmarried girls who were brought along were taken by the Wan and Quan Family’s young won to a side room.

Inside were all sorts of prepared snacks, flower teas, and on the table beside them, there were ink stones and ink slabs, storybooks, and several toys from the Capital City, all thoroughly prepared.

The young won from the Wan and Quan families were among the highest-status unmarried young won in Chicheng County, and the other young won generally followed their lead.

With them overseeing, plus the well-prepared hospitality, the unmarried young won behaved very appropriately and orderly, not one dared to cause any trouble.

Outside, there was Li Xia to keep watch, and any requests were promptly granted.

As more female guests arrived, since Wang Yongzhu was of the highest status, and with Lady Qu and Lady Chen arriving first, none dared to lag behind.

With introductions by Lady Qu and Lady Chen, Wang Yongzhu was able to recognize most of the guests quickly.

Initially, everyone was unsure of the new Lord Song and his wife’s pattern and behaved cautiously, especially since the Magistrate and County Magistrate’s wives were always by their side, no one dared to be reckless.

Everyone was all smiles, not daring to neglect Wang Yongzhu just due to her fresh, young appearance.

Flattering words were endless.

Wang Yongzhu allowed the complints, her face adorned with a gentle, refreshing smile, yet she did not show any pride or arrogance.

Her conversation with the female guests was exceedingly tactful, with a distinct sense of propriety, neither elevated nor overly approachable, maintaining a kind of pleasant, yet slightly distant rhythm.

The other female guests found it perfectly normal.

Only Lady Qu and Lady Chen noticed the disparity and instead felt a sense of pride.

It felt secretly like saying, “See, even when you’re unaware, the Magistrate’s Lady treats us differently.”

These matters aside, as it was the first eting, they mostly exchanged greetings about local customs and landscapes, each sharing about their origins, any fun or delicious things around?

At most, they would talk a bit about the sceneries in the Capital City.

This was most of interest to everyone, as so were local, and others, though not local, had almost never been to the Capital City.

Everyone had heard about the bustling Capital City, but never seen it.

Upon hearing that Wang Yongzhu had been to the Capital City, naturally, they were infinitely curious.

Wang Yongzhu selected a few interesting stories to tell, her speech being articulate, vibrant, and humorous, capturing the full attention of the gathered guests.

Even the unmarried young won in the adjoining side room put down what they were doing, quietly gathering at the door, listening intently.

It was Gu Yu who ca to inform them that lunch was ready and set in the back room.

Wang Yongzhu took this opportunity to stand and invite everyone to dine.

Just as everyone was deeply engaged in listening, the sudden call for lunch prompted so to almost shout out to skip the al and continue talking for a while longer.

Upon opening their mouths, they recalled that this was not a public place for storytelling but the official household’s residence.

Thus, albeit reluctantly, they all stood up, following along in agreent.

Led by the Maid, everyone followed the corridor, passed through a moon gate, and arrived at a small courtyard.
