The journey to the Central Region proceeded without a hitch, monotonous in its tranquility.
Three months slipped by in the blink of an eye as the Glory of Tomorrow tore through the cosmos, its colossal hull slicing through the starry void like a blade through dark silk.
It wasn’t long before they spotted, far off in the void, the Fourth Fleet of the Orthodox Martial Navy.
More than fifty battleships lined up in tight formation, thousands of smaller ships orbiting them like bees around a hive. Two Behemoths anchored the arrangement, their mere presence alone enough to stand against less powerful Celestial Emperors.
Naturally, the Cosmic Dawn Sect’s ship was instructed to dock at one of the gigantic Behemoths for a security check.
All ships ing from the outer regions had to undergo this type of inspection to root out infiltrated demons.
Of course, with Feiyue present, a few words were all it took for them to be promptly cleared and allowed to continue their journey.
"In my day, the Martial Alliance had only four of these, all stationed around the Alliance’s main base. Over two hundred were destroyed by the Dragon God of Corruption.
"Their Qi cells leaked after the destruction, contaminating everything. A region equivalent to a hundred solar systems turned into a dead zone. Not even Celestial Emperors dare to venture into that place."
Ruxue’s sweet voice echoed through Qingyi’s room as she snuggled against his chest, her soft, curvy body molding to his beneath the sheets.
On the other side lay Rouxi, her round, protruding belly rising and falling with each steady breath.
Qingyi’s left hand rested loosely on one of Ruxue’s enormous breasts, his fingers gradually sinking into that soft, heavy expanse.
His right hand, in contrast, rested gently on Rouxi’s round belly, feeling the warm, rhythmic pulse of the life growing inside.
She was already in her seventh month of pregnancy. In just two more, he would finally hold their child in his arms.
Through the reinforced window of the room, one could see a gigantic ship passing by, surrounded by thousands of smaller vessels that glowed like scattered points of light against its dark hull.
The Glory of Tomorrow was already gigantic in its own right, but each Star Destroyer-class Behemoth of the Martial Alliance was at least fifty times its size.
Despite all its grandeur, the Glory of Tomorrow barely held a candle to the destroyers here in the Central Region.
Considering just how powerful the Glory of Tomorrow was—practically indestructible within the Northern Region—Qingyi could only imagine the absurd amount of Qi required to power those behemoths capable of facing Celestial Emperors on equal footing.
Interestingly, one of the things that had amazed him most upon arriving in the Celestial Heaven wasn’t even the absurdly higher level of cultivation, but rather just how advanced the engineering was.
There were even entire families of Celestial Emperors pletely dedicated to production and engineering.
That dragon with the strangely long name—which Qingyi hadn’t even bothered to memorize in full—Long Aoxue, came from a family of engineers himself.
His family was responsible for supplying a considerable portion of the engines used in the manufacture of spaceships and even agricultural vehicles.
Many of these engines were, in fact, personally designed by the family patriarch—a Celestial Emperor, of all things.
Qingyi found it genuinely amusing to imagine that scene.
A Celestial Emperor—an immortal being capable of obliterating solar systems with a single thought—sitting at a workbench, meticulously designing a tractor engine.
A living god designing agricultural products.
In the end, he just sighed.
It was only natural.
Unlike the Mortal Heaven and the Immortal Heaven—both of which were essentially medieval and devoid of major technological advances—the Celestial Heaven was infinitely more developed.
There were TV networks, giant capitalist corporations, technologies similar to cell phones, and, to his great surprise, even a social media platform where cultivators and mortals shared videos. And of course, video games.
This was a world where a Celestial Emperor—immortal and capable of obliterating entire solar systems with a single breath—could get into a heated online argument with a mortal who had never cultivated a single day in his life, all because of the size of a famous actress’s breasts.
All of this made Qingyi want to laugh.
Even here, at the pinnacle of existence, humans were still humans.
"Hm... are we almost there?"
Rouxi’s eyes, which had been closed in sleep, opened slowly, still heavy with drowsiness. The moment her gaze fell upon the gigantic spaceship passing by on the other side of the window, they sparkled with a pure, almost childlike enchantment.
She loved big spaceships, too.
A remote control rested on her lap, and on the wall opposite the bed sat a device resembling a television.
Together with all the other girls, they had spent the entire night watching romantic dramas.
Ruxue had even used her mastery over the Mind World to install these devices throughout the temple.
This sort of thing was even more important in this world.
Celestial Emperors lived infinitely longer and possessed far stronger minds, but even they had their limits.
One of the leading causes of death among experts was precisely the gradual decline of the mind over hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of years.
Romances, movies, video games, and entertainment in general, alongside secluded cultivation, were some of the most effective ways to bat this silent decline.
"Almost there. We should arrive in two or three hours once we enter the fast-travel routes," Ruxue said softly, her fingers still tracing small circles on Qingyi’s chest.
She still couldn’t quite get her bearings in that vast expanse, but she was almost certain they were very close to a fast-travel route—special channels created to facilitate travel through the vastness of the Central Region.
Journeys that would normally take months were reduced to mere hours through these channels.
Rouxi simply nodded, snuggling back against Qingyi’s chest, her round belly pressing against his side with a forting warmth.
She was eager to see the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance, and watched with eyes sparkling in anticipation as the ship entered one of these fast-travel routes.
The entire vessel shuddered as it accelerated to absurd speeds, the stars distorting into long white filaments outside the window, transforming the cosmos into a luminous blur.
Finally, after about three hours—exactly as Ruxue had predicted—they arrived at the Celestial Orthodox Martial Alliance.
Ruxue and Rouxi returned to the Mind World, and Qingyi rose from the bed with a determined look, adjusting his robes.
It was time to see how his father-in-law was doing.
