"Hahaha..." Lin Fu laughed happily and then turned her head back to continue watching the outside; this was the first ti Fu Xing had taken her out for fun, and she cherished it greatly.
They finally stopped on the parking apron of a very lavishly decorated restaurant, and the car door opened automatically.
A waiter imdiately ca forward to show them the way.
"Duke, esteed Duchess, this way, please," the waiter said with a respectful bow.
Lin Fu naturally linked arms with Fu Xing and murmured quietly, "We’re going to a nobles’ restaurant? Shouldn’t we go to so small diner where commoners go?" That’s how it always happens in idol dramas, where the wealthy tycoon takes his delicate wife to eat earthy street barbecue.
The look Fu Xing gave his wife was one of indulgence and speechlessness, "I don’t want to change my clothes or lower the security asures, and I especially don’t want an assassin to disturb our mood during the al."
"Oh!"
Fu Xing stopped walking, "Do you want to go?"
The waiter suddenly had a bad feeling; when the Duke was studying, he often visited their restaurant and was one of their regulars, but after graduation, he never ca again. This was a first, an unparalleled honor for their establishnt, and everyone there was excited.
Now that they had co in, if they were to leave again, their restaurant would certainly beco the laughingstock.
"I’m fine with anything; let’s just stay here!"
"Good!"
The waiter wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, thankful for the Lady’s kindness.
The restaurant’s environnt was elegant with a spectacular view. After the couple sat down by the window, Fu Xing confidently ordered the al, while Lin Fu bowed her head and fiddled with her Light Computer. She stealthily looked up information about Flora, reviewing her life from birth to the age of ten.
The more she read, the more familiar it all seed.
When she ca across the part about the little princess opening a retro-thed restaurant, Lin Fu’s eyebrows raised in sudden understanding of why Celia had insisted on inviting her out to eat.
She was testing her.
But how had Celia recognized her?
Was it because Celia had once been her study companion? Lin Fu felt that wasn’t the only reason.
Lance had even been her fiancé, and he still hadn’t recognized her!
However, Lin Fu was certain she didn’t like Celia.
She couldn’t quite describe the feeling, but the doubts in her heart were growing, already affecting her mood.
Lin Fu stole a glance at Fu Xing, who was absorbed, either dealing with official business or chatting with soone, and hesitated whether to share her secret with him.
Compared to Lin Qingfeng, she actually felt more inclined to trust Fu Xing.
She was Lin Fu now; although she had begun to rember so mories, she couldn’t empathize with her forr self. For her, Fu Xing was the person with whom she had spent the most ti since her arrival, the one she liked was also Fu Xing.
If she had to be guarded even against the man she loved, then her affections were too false.
"Speak if you want to," Fu Xing said without lifting his head.
"Eh... is it that obvious?"
"Your face reads ’I have a secret, co ask ,’" Fu Xing looked up, staring steadily at her with eyes full of anticipation and encouragent.
Lin Fu t his gaze, and as their eyes locked, a thought suddenly flashed through her mind—if she deceived Fu Xing, he would definitely hate her, wouldn’t he?
As this thought erged, Lin Fu felt a sharp pang of heartache, and her breathing beca strained.
The anticipation in Fu Xing’s eyes slowly faded, and he lowered his head as if nothing had happened, continuing with what he was doing before.
