In the past ten years, up to a billion soldiers from the Empire had died in battle. Thus, the ministers disliked the ambitious Prince Hughes and instead supported the gentle and kind Princess Therese.

Now Murphy finally realized they were wrong.

The one who truly resembled the Emperor was not Hughes, but Therese.

"Just like him! The Emperor must have known all along."

Wasn’t Emperor Joseph V, before the coup, the sa as now? Once he had power, his true nature was revealed, full of ambition. While biding his ti, he patiently sched in the shadows.

Completely lacking in royal grace.

Murphy stood up, snorted coldly without rcy, and turned around to leave, not lingering for a mont longer.

He shouldn’t have co today, and he definitely shouldn’t have given Therese another chance.

So people are born to be kings, others no matter how much they disguise themselves remain re rats lurking in the dark.

The coldness in Murphy’s eyes stung Therese’s eyes and cald her mad emotions, but she knew it was too late.

There would be no more chances.

As he walked out of Therese’s palace, a squad of the Royal Guard was waiting ahead.

"Mr. Murphy," the leader said respectfully, "His Majesty requests your presence." He seed fearful that Murphy wouldn’t comply, and the n behind him subtly ford a surrounding movent.

Murphy snorted coldly, "Lead the way."

"Thank you!"

The leader sighed in relief.

It had been a long ti since Emperor Joseph V had made a public appearance; seeing him was difficult and only his true confidants were granted an audience.

...

Inside the eting venue, Major General Fu Xing bowed his head and furrowed his brows as he glanced at the ssage just received on his Light Computer.

Beside him, Admiral Xia Zeming was nearly the sa, both exchanging a look to confirm they had received the sa ssage.

The Foreign Minister Murphy, during his audience with His Majesty, had been arrested for attempting to assassinate the Emperor.

The two did not conceal the news, as the guests seated there were influential figures, and getting the first word on such news was not difficult.

Everyone had received the news.

So even didn’t bother pretending, directly mocking, "Murphy is the Foreign Minister? I thought he was the Minister of Defense!"

Clearly, that was sarcasm.

Fools knew that Murphy was no match and had negligible combat ability; saying he attempted assassination was less believable than saying Lin Fu did. At least Lin Fu had shown, on screen, the capability to take down a group of the Royal Guard.

"How absurd."

Even if they didn’t get along with so mbers of the Cabinet, the military personnel would not truly believe Murphy dared to assassinate, nor would they stoop to kicking soone already down.

"The Emperor he..."

"Can’t even be bothered to find a decent excuse."

"Who would dare to have an audience now?"

Major General Fu Xing’s expression was unreadable, staring intently at the display screen, seemingly oblivious to the surrounding comnts.

Admiral Xia Zeming couldn’t hold back and leaned in close to Fu Xing, whispering, "This is too much. It was one thing to use such tactics on military officers, but now even the Foreign Minister isn’t spared?"

"He’s desperate."

"Huh?" Xia Zeming was startled, then recalled the rumors he’d heard.

Could they be true?

Was the Emperor’s health declining?

Xia Zeming studied Fu Xing carefully, trying to glean sothing, but the youngster gave nothing away, frustrating Xia Zeming to the point of cursing.

Restrained fiercely by his assistant, "Please stay calm, you’ve only been here three days and managed to offend everyone; Major General Fu Xing is now your only ally."

Fu Xing and Randall both looked at the assistant with surprised eyes.

Fu Xing: How did you figure out that I’m an ally of Admiral Xia Zeming? I wasn’t even aware.

Randall: Kid, you’ve got a way with words!

The assistant, feeling guilty, touched his nose and avoided eye contact.

"Challenge number three has ended; number four begins."
