"Apologize to Aunt Lin Man!"
Her abrupt order caught both Lin Man and Bo Yunshen off guard.
Especially after seeing Qin Yan’s actions, Lin Man stood up from her chair in a hurry: "Yanyan, there’s no need to apologize. I know my own cooking skills well enough. She was only speaking the truth!"
Qin Yan paused for a mont.
Lin Man stood to the side, a trace of panic flashing in her eyes.
Bo Yunshen let out a cold laugh.
This woman, Qin Yan—always so attention-seeking. Who knows what kind of wind she’s caught in her sails this ti?
Every single day, all she does is use their daughter as a prop. Being Qin Yan’s daughter must be exhausting!
He grabbed Lin Man by the arm, his expression unreadable: "Manman, Director Qin seems so sincere. Don’t interrupt her."
"Yanyan, the relationship between us doesn’t need to feel so distant. Your daughter is my daughter too!"
"Why even bring up apologizing?"
Hearing this, Bo Yunshen’s eyebrow arched slightly. To have Manman act as her daughter—this was clearly Qin Yan’s intention. She was aware, at least, that one day, he would divorce her!
He had to admit, Qin Yan was surprisingly good at reading the room!
With her behavior, he should have felt relieved, yet for so reason, a burst of inexplicable anger burned within him.
He dwelled on it for a mont and decided it must be Qin Yan’s audacity that irked him. Not only did she covet him—she wouldn’t even spare Manman!
His gaze turned cold and sharp as he locked his eyes on Qin Yan. The woman straightened her posture after hearing Lin Man’s words and took a step toward her.
She displayed no expression, but her aura suddenly grew imposing as she fixed her gaze squarely on Lin Man:
"Miss Lin, let correct you on one thing. I’m asking Yinyin to apologize—not because I believe she misspoke!"
"It’s because I believe my daughter shouldn’t be so rude!"
"And another thing! You say my daughter is yours as well? She was carried in my womb for ten months. Pray tell, where were you during those ten months?"
"Or could it be that, even though Yunshen and I haven’t divorced yet, you’re already eager, desperate even, to beco Yinyin’s stepmother?"
The atmosphere froze.
Bo Yunshen abruptly sat upright in bed, his piercing gaze fixed on Qin Yan: "What did you just say?"
"Qin Yan, how dare you speak to Manman like this!"
Qin Yan chuckled.
"Did I say anything wrong?"
"If I’m mistaken, then would Miss Lin dare to sign a pledge with ? A promise to never have any inappropriate relationship with you, and to never marry you for the rest of her life?"
Bo Yunshen’s pupils contracted slightly.
This damn woman, Qin Yan, her words were venomous enough to kill.
She wouldn’t let Manman marry him? Did she plan on clinging stubbornly to the title of Mrs. Bo for life?
Was her confidence in herself that inflated!?
Bo Yunshen sneered coldly: "Qin Yan, don’t push your luck. Don’t think that just because the old man has your back, I won’t lay a hand on you!"
His eyes burned red with anger, and Qin Yan felt a pang of pressure in her chest. With a smile, she responded, "Oh, pushing my luck... Thank you for reminding . Miss Lin’s promise might not even be necessary. Perhaps I should have you, Mr. Bo, sign one instead!"
"Yunshen! Yunshen! Please don’t argue with Yanyan anymore!"
"Don’t let be the source of any more conflict between you and Yanyan. I’ve told you before—I never returned to be a burden on you two!"
Bo Yunshen scoffed: "Manman, you’re mistaken. Even if you hadn’t co back, there was never anything harmonious between Director Qin and !"
"All there is between us is a farce of a marriage, kept for appearances. A play, nothing more! Yet so people don’t know any better and take the role too seriously!"
Qin Yan lowered her eyelashes. She stood perfectly still, eerily tranquil, like a lifeless porcelain doll.
"Daddy, are you going to divorce Mommy?"
Suddenly, Qin Yinyin interjected, her voice breaking the dead silence that filled the hospital room.
Her large eyes shimred with tears, as if she were about to cry.
Having inherited the best traits of both Bo Yunshen and Qin Yan, Qin Yinyin was a strikingly beautiful child. Her black-and-white eyes brimd with tears.
As if sothing had suddenly co to mind, she turned to glance at Qin Yan before looking back at Bo Yunshen. "Daddy, after you divorce Mommy, are you going to marry Tang Tian?"
"I know Aunt Tang Tian is having your baby."
"Daddy, my teacher at school said, that once a father has a mistress and another baby, he won’t want his first child anymore. Is that true?"
She looked lost, wringing her little hands tightly as she spoke.
Her words left Bo Yunshen utterly dumbfounded.
Tang Tian was having his child?
Was that sothing Qin Yan had said?
He had never even touched Tang Tian. How could there be a child?
Was Qin Yan just trying to ss with Yinyin’s head? Planting the idea of fighting over family assets at such a young age?
And conveniently, cutting off any hope for a future between him and Manman while she was at it. A plan that killed two birds with one stone!
Bo Yunshen squinted, licking his lips as his eyes, dark and intense, settled on Qin Yan. His emotions were unreadable.
"Tang... Tang Tian? Who is Tang Tian?"
Qin Yinyin spoke up again, forcing Qin Yan to montarily forget about Lin Man and Bo Yunshen’s reactions.
The last ti she had seen Tang Tian at the hospital had been purely by chance.
Though she wasn’t certain if the child was Bo Yunshen’s, Qin Yan hadn’t anticipated just how deeply the incident had affected Qin Yinyin.
She blinked, her chest feeling as if it were subrged in seawater—bitter and briny, the ache spreading to every corner of her body.
Neither Bo Yunshen nor Qin Yan reacted to Qin Yinyin’s question. Their silence only solidified the young girl’s assumptions.
Qin Yinyin began to cry out loud.
"Daddy... I always thought... that a person should only have one wife in their lifeti!"
"And I believed... that Mommy was the one ant to give a younger brother..."
"I hate you, Daddy! I hate you!"
Turning around, she threw herself into Qin Yan’s arms. Her small hands clutched tightly at her mother as she sobbed uncontrollably.
From this day forward, Qin Yinyin’s perception of her father started to crumble...
Qin Yan couldn’t put into words how she felt. Her heart felt as if it were being twisted and contorted by an invisible hand—painful and suffocating!
That feeling extended to her throat, so much so that she couldn’t bring herself to say anything. Nor could she muster the dignity to fabricate a comforting fairy tale of a happy family life in front of Bo Yunshen and Lin Man.
The sound of Qin Yinyin’s crying grated on Bo Yunshen’s nerves. He ran a hand through his jet-black hair in frustration.
What kind of ss was this? After all, Qin Yinyin wasn’t even his child!
So why, at this mont, should he be taking the bla ant for Qin Yinyin’s unknown biological father?
Did he owe her sothing?
Bo Yunshen licked his lips and rubbed his aching temples while Qin Yinyin whimpered anew: "Doesn’t Aunt Lin Man want Daddy?"
"Mommy, I don’t want Daddy anymore. Since Aunt Lin Man likes Daddy so much, you should just toss him away!"
