Gu Jinyan was driving, and Bo Yunshen could even hear the sound of his horn.
Hearing his words, Gu Jinyan chuckled, "What’s this, Old Bo? Are you planning to thank or sothing?"
"If you’re hell-bent on thanking , don’t forget to count the last ti I saved you on your back hill!"
"I’ve saved you from misery more than once!"
Bo Yunshen: "..."
He suddenly let out a laugh.
Gu Jinyan was chilled by that laugh, goosebumps crawling over his skin.
"What’s wrong?"
"It’s nothing. My body’s fine—you don’t need to co over!"
Gu Jinyan: "..."
He had a nagging feeling that Old Bo had sothing on his mind that he hadn’t said.
Saying things halfway and leaving them hanging—what an uncomfortable feeling!
Gu Jinyan blinked, turned the steering wheel with his left hand to take a corner, and was just about to hang up the phone when his gaze suddenly paused on the handbag in the back seat.
"Old Bo, hang on a second."
"Hm?"
Gu Jinyan stifled a laugh, "Old Bo, after I carried you out of the fire, the handbag hanging around your neck ended up in my car."
Bo Yunshen’s face froze.
A handbag, hanging around his neck.
His mory suddenly beca clear—he had found Qin Yan’s handbag on the second floor of Bai Le n. What Old Gu ntioned must be that one.
"Old Bo, didn’t think you’d be into this kind of thing! Quite fashionable!"
"Gu Group has a won’s fashion handbag shop over by Central Mall. If you see sothing you like, feel free to pick one out! ntion my na—free of charge!"
Bo Yunshen’s expression darkened.
If he liked a bag, would he really need Gu Jinyan’s free giveaway?
Was he short on money?
Bo Yunshen instinctively felt that sothing was off. He mulled over it for a while before reacting, his face turning grim.
All for Qin Yan’s bag—he ended up subject to yet another round of ridicule from Old Gu.
Bo Yunshen: "Get lost! If there’s nothing else, I’m hanging up!"
"Wait, wait!"
Gu Jinyan’s voice carried a sly tone, "You haven’t said how you want to deal with the bag!"
"How about I help you pass it on to your wife?"
Bo Yunshen furrowed his brows tightly, deep creases forming between them, though Gu Jinyan couldn’t see his expression.
"It’s not mine—what does it have to do with ? Handle it however you like!"
"Isn’t there a recycling station downtown? Anything you can’t figure out, hand it over to the governnt!"
Gu Jinyan fell silent, "But the bag has your wife’s IDs and savings. If it ends up in the trash, what’s she supposed to do?"
"These things take ages to replace!"
Bo Yunshen snorted coldly and directly ended the call.
With a stormy expression on his handsoly chiseled face, he leaned against the hospital bed.
Mrs. Bo had already been taken away by Bo Yuanshan’s people, leaving only Qin Yan in the room.
She was sitting in a chair by the bedside, peeling an apple. Qin Yan’s hands were beautiful, slender and distinct, porcelain-like and flawless. Even a simple act such as peeling an apple felt visually pleasing to the observer.
Her movents were quick—after peeling the apple, she sliced it into evenly sized pieces, placed them on the plate beside her, and picked up one piece with a toothpick, offering it to Bo Yunshen:
"Yunshen, have so?"
Bo Yunshen was taken by surprise.
After all, earlier tonight, Qin Yan had hugged a cup of hot milk, drinking it herself without even glancing his way!
And now, she had peeled an apple and offered the first piece to him—it made Bo Yunshen instinctively suspicious.
Who knew if Qin Yan was plotting to use this opportunity to poison him?!
"No need! I wouldn’t dare trouble Director Qin to peel apples for !"
Bo Yunshen tugged at the corner of his mouth, a mockery slipping out unbidden.
Qin Yan murmured in response and calmly took back the plate.
The apples were bought downstairs—not only were they big, but every single one was a radiant red, looking delicious!
If not for considering Bo Yunshen’s throat discomfort, she wouldn’t have bothered slicing them. After all, apples were ant to be eaten by just biting into them—that was the way to savor their charm!
She picked up a piece and placed it into her mouth.
Crunchy, with the unmistakable fragrance of apple—truly delicious.
Bo Yunshen’s eyes darkened, unreadable emotions flickering through their depths.
He blinked his jet-black eyes, his deep and enigmatic gaze falling on Qin Yan’s face.
She didn’t seem inclined to say anything, leaving only the crisp sound of her chewing to fill the silence between them.
Bo Yunshen felt a surge of irritation building within him, heavier with each passing mont. He glared at Qin Yan fiercely and spat, "If you’re going to eat, go eat outside! Stop bothering while I’m resting!"
Qin Yan’s movents paused.
She instinctively glanced at the watch on her wrist.
It was already late—past midnight. Not only did Bo Yunshen need rest, but she was feeling a bit sleepy herself.
But there were still so many apple pieces left...
Qin Yan obediently got up and walked out the door.
Bo Yunshen glared at her departing back: "..."
His gaze grew even darker—Qin Yan, this ungrateful wretch, had no sincerity even when peeling an apple for him!
He figured she was just worrying she wouldn’t piss him off enough!
Bo Yunshen licked the corner of his lips. His own course of action was certainly correct—Old Gu should’ve just tossed her bag!
With that thought, he gripped his phone and swiped across the screen, locating Gu Jinyan’s number and dialing it.
"Old Bo? We just hung up—missing already?"
Bo Yunshen paused for a mont and murmured, "Send that bag to Bo Group’s CEO office."
Gu Jinyan burst out laughing, speaking without hesitation, his tone teasing, "Old Bo, do you really have a thing for collecting won’s handbags?!"
"Honestly, that bag isn’t particularly good-looking. I’ve already tossed it. How about I send you a few others?"
"I promise they’ll be limited-edition, stylish, and classy—how about it?!"
Bo Yunshen’s forehead throbbed—Gu Jinyan’s outrageously vivid descriptions had inadvertently conjured an image of himself carrying a woman’s bag.
Clearing his throat, his expression imdiately turned dark.
"You tossed it? Where? Pick it back up—I only want that one!"
"I want to see it tomorrow!"
Gu Jinyan chuckled, "Old Bo, just admit it! You’re head over heels for her—completely smitten!"
"Your obsession is borderline creepy—you won’t even part with her bag."
Bo Yunshen’s face darkened further.
Old Gu’s knack for spouting nonsense was truly reaching outrageous levels!
Cutting him off in a cold voice, he demanded, "Enough chatter? If you’re done, get it sent to Bo Group!"
"Also, let reiterate—I do NOT like Qin Yan!"
"Even if every woman on Earth vanished, I would never develop feelings for soone as conniving as her!"
Gu Jinyan snickered, "Old Bo, don’t be too sure of yourself."
He didn’t linger on it, chuckling softly as his tone turned serious, "Alright, let’s talk business."
"What business could you possibly have?"
Bo Yunshen’s words were derisive, but his attitude beca more earnest.
