He wasn’t risking his life to save Qin Yan; he went in to confirm whether Qin Yan was dead!

If she was dead, he wanted to be the first to see how she looked in death and bring her corpse out to give the old man an explanation.

"Manman, in your heart, am I really such a fickle person?"

"Between us, whether it’s what I rember or don’t rember, we’ve been together for over ten years. Can’t you give even this much?"

Bo Yunshen’s gaze was dark and fathomless, like a freezing cold pond.

He shook off Lin Man’s hand, adjusted his fire-resistant suit, and turned towards Bai Le n directly.

Bo Yunshen moved too fast. Lin Man didn’t even have ti to stop him and could only watch as his figure disappeared into the heavy smoke.

Her heart was a tumult of emotions, especially the last words Bo Yunshen said, which still lingered unresolved.

Back then, he liked Qin Yan so much—she truly feared that this affection was an instinct rooted in the depths of Bo Yunshen’s soul.

On the first floor of Bai Le n, the walls were exposed, the bricks burnt black-red, and the decorative wooden panels and wall lights were barely hanging on, ready to collapse at any mont.

The corridor was almost impossible to step through. Bo Yunshen took a deep breath, covering his nose and mouth, and headed upstairs.

The fire on the second floor was raging. Bo Yunshen hurried past the private karaoke rooms he had already searched.

The karaoke room doors were intricately designed; each one had a small pane of glass so the staff could check if the room needed service.

The fire was too intense. Bo Yunshen didn’t dare enter each room to see if Qin Yan was inside, rely scanning each one briefly through the small windows.

Between monts, the interior of Bai Le n was reduced to nothing but flas spreading and crackling.

Sweat soaked Bo Yunshen’s back, drenching the clothes beneath his fire-resistant suit as though he were caught in the rain.

The air in the corridor grew thinner and thinner. Covering his face, Bo Yunshen could barely breathe, the sll of smoke and fire invading his nostrils, unstoppable.

Bo Yunshen moved his hand away and looked around, walking to the end of the corridor, reaching the restroom door where he and Qin Yan had argued earlier, but saw no trace of Qin Yan.

"Qin Yan!"

"Qin Yan!"

Bo Yunshen raised his voice and called out twice, but the echoes were swallowed up by the flas. In the vast entertainnt complex, aside from the sound of the fire, there was an overwhelming silence.

The sll of smoke grew heavier, as if it weighed down his lungs like a block of iron—painful and suffocating.

Bo Yunshen stood in the relatively safe corner of the restroom, his dark gaze fixed on the opposite end.

The fire grew more intense, the smoke thicker and heavier.

With just a glance, he knew there was no way anyone could still be alive over there.

Bo Yunshen lowered his head briefly and laughed under his breath.

That damned woman, Qin Yan—could it be poetic justice? Was heaven finally punishing her?

Her actions had been so appalling, even heaven couldn’t tolerate them!

Bo Yunshen’s expression beca inscrutable. His thoughts drifted so far away that he didn’t even notice when sothing fell down above him.

The restroom door was made of wood. In the heat of the flas, the door fra separated, and the topmost plank, unable to bear the weight, crashed down, landing heavily on Bo Yunshen’s back.

He reacted instantaneously. Sensing sothing was off, he imdiately threw the object off himself.

Even so, his fire-resistant suit was burned through, leaving a scorched hole. At the mont the door fra hit his back, it aggravated his existing injury, tearing his skin and flesh anew.

The burning pain was so intense that even Bo Yunshen couldn’t suppress a muffled grunt of agony.

He slipped into the restroom swiftly, his movents sharp and urgent, his foot kicking against sothing.

Bo Yunshen lowered his head, and his pupils contracted sharply.

A pinkish-beige handbag. Small in size. He crouched down, picked it up, unzipped it, and rummaged through it.

Two bank cards, an employee ID, a national ID card, a few banknotes, and a scalding hot cell phone—all of them Qin Yan’s belongings.

Earlier today when Qin Yan went out, she dressed so beautifully. n are visual creatures, and Bo Yunshen was no exception; he had glanced at her a few tis and noticed the handbag she carried.

Bo Yunshen’s gaze lingered for a mont on the dried bloodstains on the floor.

He slung the handbag’s strap around his neck, turned around, and searched the restroom stalls for Qin Yan, his heart a chaotic ss.

Could it be that after he left, Qin Yan hadn’t gotten out?

Bo Yunshen struggled to breathe: "Qin Yan, Qin Yan!"

"Are you here?"

For once, Bo Yunshen felt an unfamiliar panic. Whose blood was that on the floor?

Had sothing really happened to Qin Yan?

Where was she?

Manman said that firefighters had rescued people near the restroom earlier—was Qin Yan taken out?

Why didn’t he see her downstairs? Why was her handbag here?

Did she hate him so much that she planned all this—tricking him into coming in, into risking his life?

Bo Yunshen took a deep breath, his mind overwheld by endless waves of tornt, his heart tightening in sharp pain that felt as though it could explode at any mont.

Bo Yunshen’s expression turned as cold as ice. He searched every stall but saw no trace of Qin Yan.

Unwilling to give up, he turned and headed straight to the adjacent n’s restroom.

The fire had already spread inside. The snow-white tiles on the walls were now ashen black from smoke. The ceiling was almost completely burned through and hung precariously, cracking down the middle.

"Qin Yan!"

Bo Yunshen forced down the surge of emotions raging in his chest, his features icy with resolution.

If he left this place and Qin Yan was fine, he would absolutely, indisputably cut ties with that damned woman. She seed born to tornt him!

Sooner or later, she would completely ruin his life!

The n’s restroom was empty, as were all the private rooms along the corridor—Qin Yan was nowhere to be found.

Bo Yunshen was uncertain whether Qin Yan had been rescued or was on another floor.

Almost instinctively, Bo Yunshen felt the urge to leave and check downstairs.

But as soon as he moved, he stopped in his tracks.

With the fire this intense, if he went out now, coming back in might be next to impossible.

If Qin Yan truly was still inside Bai Le n, his trip back and forth might leave her to her death for sure.

He furrowed his brow, his eyes flickering with hesitation.

Manman was right—Qin Yan’s life wasn’t worth as much as his.

He was the Bo family’s only heir. If anything happened to him, Qin Yan couldn’t afford the loss!

With urgency in his steps, he left the restroom and headed quickly to the ergency exit.

On his way downstairs, Bo Yunshen stopped abruptly and then ascended to the third floor.

Bo Yunshen raised a hand to brush his lips. He’d only go upstairs to take a look.

He would only confirm that Qin Yan wasn’t above, then co back down!

No—he’d just take a quick look along the corridor for any trace of Qin Yan’s figure. If she wasn’t there, he’d leave, no hesitation!
