Early morning.
The sunlight penetrated through the windows of the room, landing on a corner of the large bed, where Bo Yunshen’s lips moved slightly as he opened his eyes.
The curtains inside the room were drawn back, and the intense light made him squint several tis before adapting to the brightness streaming in.
His forehead felt sowhat painful, and Bo Yunshen reached up to pinch it, pulling at his wound. He winced sharply and froze.
Pinching the bridge of his nose, his gaze fell upon the white fabric on his wrist, and his pupils abruptly contracted as he suddenly sat up from the bed.
Before going to sleep, Bo Yunshen clearly rembered changing into a dark-colored robe!
Bo Yunshen scrutinized the white shirt he found himself wearing, which clung neatly to his body, the perfect size and styled elegantly by his favorite designer.
A dark flash crossed his eyes.
In the master bedroom on the third floor were just he and Qin Yan. Bo Yunshen knew very well who had changed his clothes.
Bo Yunshen touched his shirt; not all the buttons were fastened.
A scene flashed abruptly into his mind: last night, he seed to have dread of Manman...
Bo Yunshen’s face imdiately darkened, his spine tensing and the wounds on his back felt as if they had receded. His eyes, like his lips, were heavy and cold.
The dream from last night remained vividly in Bo Yunshen’s mory, even allowing him to distinctly feel the softness of a woman’s body and the warmth of their lips entwined.
His heart sank slowly, and a layer of cold sweat covered his body.
His fingertips still retained the warmth of the woman’s body, and Bo Yunshen’s lips pressed tightly together. Dreams couldn’t be that realistic, and Manman couldn’t possibly erge from a dream and beco reality.
Last night, he must have mistaken Qin Yan for Manman and done sothing...
Sounds of running water reached his ears, and Bo Yunshen’s brow twitched as he glanced towards the bathroom, feeling guilty for the first ti.
After all, last night he had relentlessly mocked Qin Yan for dreaming about climbing into his bed, yet she had done nothing while he, in contrast, had pinned her down and touched her.
Bo Yunshen took a deep breath, his gaze resting on the sowhat disheveled sheets, hesitating for a mont.
It was even possible that they had gone all the way.
The sound of water stopped, and Bo Yunshen shifted his long legs, already in slippers, his movents abruptly halting as his gaze deepened.
Why should he feel guilty?!
Why was he afraid to face Qin Yan?!
Wasn’t she the one dreaming about his bed?!
He had simply granted her wish; Qin Yan should be grateful!
Besides, if he hadn’t been half-asleep last night, how could he have ever touched soone like Qin Yan?!
Qin Yan knew very well how much he despised her; Bo Yunshen would never willingly lay a hand on her!
Moreover, she was fully capable of avoiding him, wasn’t she?!
Dark clouds gathered over his handso face. To be linked romantically with him, Qin Yan must be overjoyed inside!
Feeling uneasy, Bo Yunshen drew out his phone, pausing as he unlocked it, noticing two red, raw scratch marks on his right wrist.
The images from last night flashed through his mind alongside the scratches; he had dread of Manman and, carried away by his emotions, his actions must have been forceful.
If he rembered correctly, the woman beneath him seed to have been struggling.
The thought surged through his mind, and Bo Yunshen’s ears rang as veins bulged on his forehead and his pupils flashed with dark intensity.
The severity of the scratch marks indicated that she indeed had resisted at the ti.
Bo Yunshen truly felt as if he had gone mad, obsessing over the previous night’s events.
Qin Yan had exhausted every tactic to marry him, yet he didn’t believe it, his mind was a blur, and whenever he thought of doing sothing to her, she would dodge it!
She was playing hard to get, creating an illusion deliberately!
Her aim was to make him feel guilty, to make him compromise!
No matter what, Bo Yunshen’s expression remained unsoftened. He had developed a high fever last night, slept, and did not fully recover; his mind was muddy like the aftermath of a windstorm, and he couldn’t sort out his thoughts. Just then, the bathroom door was pushed open from the inside.
Qin Yan walked out.
She had changed into a different outfit, a nude-pink knee-length dress, her black seaweed-like long hair draped over her porcelain-like face, her slender figure outlined by the dress, her slim, flawless legs exposed.
Bo Yunshen paused.
Qin Yan seldom wore such dresses at the office, always in formal attire; this was the first ti he had seen her dressed like this.
Seeing him look at her, Qin Yan seed not to have expected him to wake up, a brief unnaturalness flashed across her face, and a layer of light powder tinged her cheeks.
"Yunshen, you’re awake."
She didn’t deliberately avoid his gaze, her eyes sincere.
Bo Yunshen bit his lip, wordless.
Thinking of what had happened between him and Qin Yan, he didn’t know what attitude to hold toward her.
Qin Yan’s eyes remained fixed on Bo Yunshen, causing his face to darken; he pursed his lips and uttered a "Hmm."
That was typical of Bo Yunshen, either sarcastic or cold and indifferent.
Qin Yan had long been used to it, so she didn’t notice anything unusual about Bo Yunshen.
Last night, his fever was severe; at least now, he was lucid. Qin Yan thought this and felt a weight lift from her heart, involuntarily blurting out:
"Good you’re awake."
Bo Yunshen’s eyes flickered.
"Good you’re awake?"
What did Qin Yan an by that?
Was she implying that she intended to confront him about the events of last night?
Bo Yunshen’s body shifted, his voice sarcastically cutting through, "Good you’re awake? Is that all?"
No conditions?
Could she truly be so benevolent?
Bo Yunshen’s lips curled slightly, carrying a bone-chilling coolness, as Qin Yan brushed aside the hair blocking her view and asked in a low voice:
"Yunshen, what do you an?"
Seeing Qin Yan’s calm deanor, Bo Yunshen narrowed his eyes slightly. The sunlight stread through his long, dense eyelashes, falling on his handso face without lting any of the coldness there.
"I thought Director Qin was squatting here waiting for to wake up, hoping to help recall last night’s events, expecting to make a promise to you, weren’t you?"
As soon as Bo Yunshen finished, Qin Yan’s face turned even more unnatural.
He scoffed, his undecided thoughts suddenly becoming clear.
He thought that every expression on Qin Yan’s face was rely perford for him to see.
She was a woman with motives and desires, never content with her lot; she would never let go of this hard-earned opportunity!
Qin Yan blinked and said softly, "You had a fever last night."
