"Send the signal! Send it, damn it—"
The man in the baseball cap shouted hysterically, kicking away the surge of insects at his feet.
When he shakily pulled out his phone, a centipede as thick as a finger was sprawled across the screen, its dark red shell gleaming with an eerie luster in the sunlight.
The centipede suddenly lifted its head, its venomous jaws wide open, scaring him into letting out a strange scream. The phone flew two ters away from his hand.
The skinny guy was in even worse condition.
He shakily pressed the ergency button on the satellite phone, but he felt sothing cold trying to burrow into his ear canal.
In the dim light, he saw his shoulder crawling with dense black beetles, so attempting to crawl into his nostrils.
"Boss! Sothing’s wrong in the underground canyon!" His voice was already tinged with a sob, "That woman... I don’t know if she knows Miaojiang Gu Technique! She attracted... ah!"
A cold sneer ca from the other end of the line: "Useless, you can’t even handle a woman properly."
This voice seed to co from an ice cellar, sending a chill through the skinny guy.
At that mont, the insect swarm suddenly erupted.
Thousands of venomous insects poured out from the crevices in the rocks, instantly subrging the two up to their knees.
The skinny guy’s cries for help turned into heart-wrenching screams. He frantically slapped at his body, only causing more insects to crawl into his sleeves.
The man in the baseball cap wasn’t faring any better; already, a dozen scorpions had crawled into his pant legs, their stingers rcilessly piercing his flesh.
In under a minute, the two were wrapped into wriggling black mummies.
The man in the baseball cap wanted to scream, but as soon as he opened his mouth, several centipedes took the opportunity to crawl in.
The venom, mixed with extre fear, caused their eyes to roll uncontrollably backwards until they finally passed out completely.
They fell to the ground like two puppets, their weapons clattering onto the rocks.
Silence reigned for about ten minutes.
Suddenly, the insect swarm seed to receive so silent command, retreating to the sides with a rustling sound, creating a one-ter-wide path in the sand.
Xu Ying walked over slowly in her combat boots, the crunching of sand underfoot setting teeth on edge.
She squatted down and deftly inspected the shotgun on the ground, finding not a single bullet missing from the magazine.
"Seems like your boss is quite generous."
Xu Ying frowned; these people’s weapons were much more professional than those of the poachers before.
Her movents were swift and clean as she untied ropes from her tactical belt, clearly professionally trained.
Having previously experienced tribal ard conflicts during a rescue mission in Africa, Xu Ying wasn’t fazed by situations like this.
In less than three minutes, the two tomb raiders were tied up like dumplings. With a flick of her wrist, Xu Ying dragged them like dead dogs to the off-road motorcycle parked not far away.
As she passed the patiently waiting twin-humped cal, Xu Ying showed a rare gentle expression.
She stroked the cal’s furry head, "Mountain Peak, wait for here."
Mountain Peak nuzzled her palm obediently, then turned to blend into the shadows of the canyon.
To the "Five Poison" brigade in the canyon, Xu Ying said, "Thank you all, I’ll bring food back to see you!"
[Just co back to see us, no need to bring gifts!]
[We’ll take good care of this big cal!]
"Good kids!" Xu Ying praised, then mounted the sand motorcycle.
The engine roared like a beast as Xu Ying, with the two unconscious captives in tow, headed toward the depths of the desert.
The two on the back seat were soon jostled awake by the bumpy ride.
The skinny guy was the first to regain consciousness. He struggled to lift his head, his face a bizarre shade of blue-purple from the venom.
"You damn woman..." His voice was hoarse like sandpaper grating, "You’re done for... The boss’s n are already on their way..."
Before he could finish, he erupted into a violent cough, bloody foam trickling from his mouth.
The man in the baseball cap was in even worse shape, yet he managed to force a vicious grin, "If you release us now... we might leave you in one piece..."
His pupils were starting to spread, but he still fought on with his last bit of strength, "Dozens of people... fully ard... You can’t escape..."
Xu Ying didn’t even look back, only gently twisted the throttle.
She was on her way to rendezvous with military support.
On the motorcycle’s dashboard, a miniature locator disguised as a tachoter was flashing rhythmically. In the rearview mirror, a trail of dust suddenly rose on the distant horizon.
Twelve modified off-road vehicles appeared in view like a pack of hungry wolves.
The burly bald man in the lead vehicle leaned halfway out of the window, the double-barreled shotgun in his hand spitting out a dazzling tongue of fla.
"Bang!" The bullet whistled past the motorcycle’s wheel, blasting a bowl-sized hole in the hard Gobi Desert ground.
"Hahaha! Another shot!"
The man in the baseball cap suddenly beca inexplicably excited, wriggling like a maggot despite being tied up, "See that? That’s the boss’s confidant, Black Bear! You’re finished!"
Xu Ying squinted slightly. In her Bluetooth headset, a soldier was already reminding her to watch for the landing helicopter.
The pursuers were getting closer; the nearest vehicle was closing in within 150 ters.
Another gunshot rang out, this ti the bullet precisely pierced through the motorcycle’s rear fender, tal fragnts scattering.
Just at this critical mont, a thunderous rumbling echoed from the sky.
Everyone instinctively looked up—three dark green WZ-10 attack helicopters swooped down from the clouds in a combat formation like mythical Garuda Eagles.
The rocket pods under the wings glead coldly in the sunlight, with the 30mm cannons locked onto ground targets.
"Holy shit...."
The bald man’s shotgun clattered to the floor of the car, his face turning deathly pale.
The ground shook more violently as two ZBL-09 wheeled armored vehicles burst out from behind the dunes on either side, the massive 8×8 tires crushing rocks with a terrifying cracking sound.
The 12.7mm heavy machine guns on the rooftops slowly rotated, their gaping barrels directly aiming at the convoy of tomb raiders.
Even more despairingly, each armored vehicle was followed by twelve fully ard special forces soldiers, their black helts casting a shadow, with their assault rifles ready to fire.
"Everyone listen up!"
"Drop your weapons! Surrender imdiately!"
The PA system on the armored vehicle issued a clear and authoritative warning, the voice echoing across the desert.
The entire tomb raider gang dissolved into chaos in an instant.
They had never seen such a display before!
This was treating them like enemies!
Who on earth was this woman, knowing the legendary Miaojiang Gu Technique and backed by the military?
So directly knelt on the ground with hands raised high, while others slumped in their seats, mumbling, "We were just digging for so antiques... Did they really need to deploy attack helicopters..."
A younger tomb raider directly wet himself in fear, crying out, "This is the goddamn scale of an anti-terrorism exercise!"
