Chapter 521: Chapter 522: I’m Really Not a Bad Person

"Alright, then just hurry up and leave. Once you step out of this shop, don’t bother coming back ho. I’d like to see how you plan to get by out there," the lady boss said angrily.

After Wang Ling’er turned 18, she made so bad friends. Her fashion sense was so outlandish she could scare people just by walking around at night. The lady boss always got particularly angry whenever she saw Wang Ling’er, especially when she brought these friends into the shop; she’d often feel like kicking them out directly.

"Auntie, I’m really not a bad person," the boy explained to the lady boss with a face full of grievance.

The lady boss stared at the boy, uncertain of who he really was. But judging by his current deanor, he sure didn’t seem like a decent person.

"Got nothing better to do, have to stick an iron ring through your nose. What’s the idea, planning to beco a movie monster? Or maybe the Bull Demon King?" the lady boss said coldly.

This remark made Su Changfeng, who sat nearby, burst into laughter. The boy did have a rather unusual style, and that nose ring was indeed eye-catching. The lady boss’s words were right on the mark.

Hearing Su Changfeng laugh, the boy’s eyes imdiately showed a hint of displeasure, but since they were in the store, he didn’t dare to trouble Su Changfeng. However, Wang Ling’er felt her friend was being mocked and angrily approached Su Changfeng.

Bang!

A loud slap landed on the table in front of Su Changfeng. Wang Ling’er said angrily, "What are you laughing at? This has nothing to do with you. You better mind your manners."

Su Changfeng looked up, smiling, "Little Lingzi, we haven’t seen each other for such a long ti, and the mont we et, you’re so fierce with . Aren’t you worried I might not co back in the future?"

Wang Ling’er froze in place upon seeing Su Changfeng.

Before, she often helped her mom at the shop during weekends and holidays while attending school, serving drinks to custors and the like. Su Changfeng frequently visited too, so they got to know each other over ti. Although he hadn’t visited in recent years, Wang Ling’er had never forgotten about Su Changfeng.

"Brother Cangshu?" Wang Ling’er looked at Su Changfeng in shock.

Su Changfeng smiled helplessly, "You’re all grown up now, and you still can’t speak properly?"

Wang Ling’er nonchalantly said, "I’m used to calling you that; it’s hard to change, and I don’t want to."

Saying this, Wang Ling’er sat next to Su Changfeng, appearing particularly close. Only at tis like this would the lady boss’s gaze towards Wang Ling’er soften slightly.

"Brother Cangshu, where have you been all these years, and why didn’t you co to see ?" Wang Ling’er asked curiously.

"I’ve been living elsewhere, and it’s rare for

to return to Beijing. I ca to Beijing this ti just to visit," Su Changfeng said with a smile.

anwhile, the boy who ca in with Wang Ling’er harbored a strong hostility towards Su Changfeng. Even though Su Changfeng had his back to the boy, he could still feel the boy’s gaze.

Su Changfeng didn’t know who this kid was, but the dagger tip sticking out of his pocket made it clear he wasn’t a good person.

Would a normal person carry a dagger around for no reason?

"Elsewhere, huh? So it’s going to be hard to see you again," Wang Ling’er wrinkled her nose.

Her feelings for Su Changfeng weren’t like those between Yue Qingshan and him; rather, they were more like those between a brother and sister. During her younger years, she would always hope Su Changfeng would co to the shop. Over ti, this longing beca the motivation for Wang Ling’er to visit. Whenever Su Changfeng ca around, he would bring Wang Ling’er a few small toys.

Of course, now that she’s grown up, Wang Ling’er no longer needs toys, but such long-standing affections aren’t sothing easily dismissed.

"If you want to see , I could have soone pick you up and bring you over to stay for a while," Su Changfeng said.

Wang Ling’er had heard from her mother about the first ti Su Changfeng ca to their place, and because of that, she thought his family wasn’t very wealthy. Yet now he had people calling him ’boss’?

"Brother Cangshu, are you loaded now?" Wang Ling’er raised an eyebrow and asked.

"Absolutely, I’m just a bit short of becoming the richest man," Su Changfeng gestured, showing a tiny gap between his thumb and index finger.

"Pfft." Wang Ling’er scoffed with disbelief, saying, "If you can beco the richest man, then I might as well be a princess — do you believe that?"

"If you didn’t wear such bizarre outfits, you could really be a princess. But with all that colorful stuff on your head, you don’t quite look the part now," Su Changfeng said.

Wang Ling’er was quite satisfied with her current look, but Su Changfeng’s comnt made her start to doubt herself.

"Brother Cangshu, does my look really not suit ?" Wang Ling’er questioned.

"It really doesn’t," Su Changfeng nodded without hesitation. Even the lady boss wasn’t used to this style, and neither was he.

In Su Changfeng’s mind, Wang Ling’er used to be a particularly quiet girl, but now she had turned into a full-fledged rebel teenager.

"Wang Ling’er’s look was my suggestion; who are you to criticize it!" the boy complained to Su Changfeng.

"And who do you think you are?" Su Changfeng turned to et the boy’s gaze directly.

The boy was intimidated by Su Changfeng’s stare and instinctively stepped back, lacking the courage to say anything more to Su Changfeng. Instead, he turned to Wang Ling’er and said, "Wang Ling’er, aren’t you going to ask your mom for the money? Don’t you rember we have that event to go to later?"

Wang Ling’er indeed returned to get the money, but she didn’t expect to see Su Changfeng.

The event was important, but Su Changfeng was more important in her eyes right now. Wang Ling’er realized that after this eting, she wouldn’t know how long it would be before she’d see Su Changfeng again.

"I’m not going to the event anymore. You can go by yourself," Wang Ling’er said.

The boy’s eyes flashed with anger, saying, "We agreed on this beforehand, and now you’re backing out. Are you playing with !"

"So what if I am? I just don’t want to participate in such silly activities anymore," Wang Ling’er said.

"Fine, Wang Ling’er. You just wait; this isn’t over," the boy said angrily before leaving.

Su Changfeng could tell this kid wouldn’t let it go. Seeing the situation, he knew he had to help Wang Ling’er sort it out before leaving Beijing, or she’d likely face significant trouble.

"Brother Cangshu, did you bring

a gift today?" Wang Ling’er asked as she moved to the side, warmly taking Su Changfeng’s arm.
