Chapter 16: Investigation
Several hours later.
Fang Lin, Fang Yu, Wang Hao, ng Chao, Feng Zun and Xiao Ya all t in Xiao ng’s quarters.
Xiao ng was still on the bed. Even though the poison has been removed from her, her lost vitality could be only recovered from a week’s rest. Ning’er wanted to join too, but Xiao ng just glared at her daughter and said “I just got bedridden and you already neglected your training? You think you can hide it? I can clearly sll it. You’ve been busy playing with yourself since you t those twins!”
“Ah mother! Don’t say those things here!” Ning’er waved her hands and she was near to crying state already. Fang Lin and Fang Yu tried to not look at her directly.
“Do not get flustered. Those things are normal. But what’s really vital is is strength!” Xiao ng’s countenance changed. “You can do whatever you want if you are strong! Those twins? You can have them both as long as you are strong enough!”
“Mother...” Xiao Ning’er looked at her mother with an idolized expression. “I’ll do my best!” She then left the room to cultivate.
Fang Lin imdiately felt that he needs to have a massive power-up arc if he wants to stay free.
Xiao Ya then stood up and said “Here is the assassin” She waved her hands and the shadow assassin was brought out in front of them.
“You know what happens to you if you don’t talk.” Feng Zun said with a hostile voice. “We can put you through a lot of torture, and you will pray and beg for your death!”
The assassin just looked at them coldly and spat beside her. She just glared at them without saying a word. It was as if she was confident that nothing will faze her to talk.
“What do we do to her now?” Wang Hao muttered excitedly while rubbing his hands. “I have a thousand techniques that can make a woman beg for more!”
“We are not doing that. ” ng Chao replied. “She has been trained all her life for situations like this. I doubt we can force the information out from her.But I do have a way to make her spill the information by herself”
“What is it?”
“A slave contract.”
“Wait, aren’t those forbidden?” Fang Lin interjected. It was actually the truth. Slave contracts essentially makes a person to be a personal slave to another. His or her thoughts and actions can be easily manipulated by the master. This clearly undermines the rights of a person and nobody wants to be a slave. Because of this horrifying effects, there was a progressive ban on slavery in this planet.
“Yes its illegal, but this slave contract I made was modified by into sothing that can be hardly called a slave contract. You can say I modified it to be similar to a Beast Taming Contract.’
“Wait, so these contract of yours will treat this assassin as a pet beast?” Fang Lin was of course astonished by that.
“I may not look like it but I am also an expert on modifying magical contracts. You know that beast taming was a highly accepted practice, so there is no problem if we treat her as a beast!”
“But she’s clearly a human!”
“Well, as long as nobody discovers it, its ok!”
Feng Zun then asked “So who’s going to initiate the contract?”
Xiao Ya spoke up “This assassin cultivates magical arts from the dark side. I fear the only way she can be easily forced into a contract is by making her master soone with an intense fire attribute. Luckily, we have one here.” All eyes swiveled to Fang Lin who exclaid, “But she’s at the Fifth Stage! Can’t Madam Xiao Ya be the one to initiate the contract herself? Or Elder Feng Zun or ng Chao? But definitely not my Master.”
“We can actually do that, but this taming contract brings the ‘beast’ to the sa power level as the practitioner.” ng Chao replied. ” She cannot be with Xiao Ya because she is stronger than the assassin. Her yin essence will also strengthen the assassin and might give her a chance to escape in the future. That crosses out Fang Yu too. Feng Zun cannot do it too because of you know, Sis Xiao ng. I, ng Chao will be also out of this. I cannot tie myself with sothing illegal that I made. Wang Hao is a big NO NO NO. Ning’er has her own contract beast alread, its just its still not hatching from its egg.” ng Chao then looked at Fang Lin expectantly.
“You have the Yang essence so you can easily weaken her power. You are also only at Body Refinent stage so the assassin will be at that stage too. If you still feel guilty, you can consider this my repaynt for your master helping us out earlier.”
“Hey that’s unfair!” Wang Hao muttered sullenly. But then his eyes brightened up.
“Hey Fang Lin, we already completed your objective to have a pet! Make sure to take care of her properly! She can provide good services for you in the future! Hehehe..”
The assassin who was acting cold earlier heard all of this conversation . She was struck with terror. She knew that with a contract, any information can be extracted from her.
“Ok, we will start now!” ng Chao waved his hands, and a golden roll of paper fluttered out. He then sliced Fang Lin’s finger and put it in the contract. Fang Lin imdiately felt as if he has nurous chains growing out of his body. Xiao Ya then exerted her pressure, rendering the assassin unable to struggle. ng Chao then pointed his hand at the assassin and the scroll went in front of her. It let out a golden light and the assassin stopped moving entirely. The chains that Fang Lin felt wrapped around the assassin.
“Once the light’s all gone, you already have your own contract beast!” Suddenly a black light lighted up on the assassin’s head. “Crap its a self-destruction array!” ng Chao shouted. “It must have been made to activate if we force the assassin to slavery!” Xiao Ya tried to weaken the exlplosion to try to save the assassin, but even with its weakened power, the explosion almost destroyed half of the assassin’s body.
At the sa ti, the contract finished lighting up. At this mont, Fang Lin feared that his first pet was going to be a corpse. “Don’t tell this is a flag for necrophilia!”
But what he saw was incredible. ng Chao shouted “Refine!” Imdiately a formless pressure erupted from him, but its focused on the assassin. He waved his hands, and astonishingly, the body of the assassin went smaller, but she had been shown to regenerate her lost body parts.
Once ng Chao was finished, the newly-healed assassin was brought in front of Fang Lin. But instead of the mature beauty, what was in front of him was a little 8 year old child who was tilting hear head cutely. She said in her tiny voice.
“Who am I? Where am I? Who are you guys?” She then noticed Fang Lin and she said
“Are you my master, Onii-chan?”
