82: Chapter 80: Death?

82: Chapter 80: Death?

Ai Yang and the others didn’t dare to release their superpowers recklessly, afraid of hurting Su Mo.

After finally finding an opportunity to make a move, a basketball-sized water ball ca smashing down from the stairwell.

Caught off guard, Su Mo was struck on the head by the water ball, and her mind reeled with dizziness.

“Hurry and help!” Ai Yang, seeing this, glared fiercely at Chu ngyao coming down from above and quickly led his group to swarm up.

“I was just trying to help,” Chu ngyao’s figure swayed, and tears started rolling down.

Despite her legs growing weak, Su Mo didn’t let go.

Seizing the mont of her dizziness, the zombie brought its knee to the ground and, with her held aloft, its sharp claws sliced through her thigh, embedding into her flesh and flinging her off.

She lost her balance and crashed directly onto the floor.

In the last conscious second, she saw Chu ngyao’s triumphant smirk and a familiar figure rushing down towards her.

Thank goodness, you’re here.

Su Mo’s eyes slowly closed as blood gushed from her thigh.

Before she passed out, she heard that reassuring notification sound.

[Host has been infected with the mother virus, fusion initiated]

“Su Mo!” Lu Chen’s heart stopped for a mont.

He jumped straight down from upstairs and blocked the zombie’s path.

Cold Ice spread beneath his feet, rapidly encompassing the floor toward it.

The entire first-floor lobby was covered in ice, slick and slippery, preventing the zombie from maintaining its footing and greatly slowing it down, leaving it fully exposed before everyone.

As Lu Chen locked on to it, Cold Ice ford barbs beneath the zombie, spurting upward to penetrate its body.

One hit kill, stunning everyone present.

A milky-white Small Crystal Core fell from its head.

Lu Chen caught it with one hand and casually threw it into the Space.

He slowly approached Su Mo and knelt down on both knees.

“Su Mo,” he called her with a trembling voice.

The only response was the roar of the monsters outside, and the small face that always smiled at him now void of life.

With trembling hands, he pulled her into his embrace, his gaze falling on the fresh wound on her thigh.

He froze completely, a brutal aura violently radiating from him, the pressure from a Level 3 Superpower User sweeping towards Ai Yang and the others, forcing them to expel mouthfuls of blood.

As Jianxiong ran downstairs, to his shock, he saw Lu Chen, known only for his ruthless indifference, with redness welling up in his eyes, crouching down and holding the girl tightly in his arms.

It was as if he wanted to ld her into his bones and blood, filled with utter despair.

Jianxiong’s heart skipped a beat, and he hurried over, placing a finger under Su Mo’s nose.

Feeling the moisture on his fingertip, he excitedly said, “Boss, the little sister isn’t dead!

Boss!

There’s still hope!”

Chu ngyao, standing on the steps at the stairwell, saw this and was about to sneak back when Zhao Changsheng, who had woken up, blocked her path.

Electric currents surged wildly in her hands as she launched an attack directly at Chu ngyao.

“How dare you ambush my Momo, I’ll kill you!” The evolved Zhao Changsheng was no longer limited to simple Thunder Ball attacks, and a solidified thunder appeared in her hand as a whip, five ters long.

With a crack of her Thunder Whip, she lashed Chu ngyao to Lu Chen’s feet.

“I didn’t—” The panicked voice ended abruptly as Chu ngyao smashed heavily onto the ground, feeling as if her entire body was falling apart.

The man picked up the person in his arms and stepped on Chu ngyao’s neck.

“How dare you?” he asked, lowering his head, eyes deep and still, his words carrying a mad intent to kill.

“She also ant well…” Ai Yang, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, managed to get halfway through the sentence.

He was unable to defend her with a clear conscience after what he had just seen…

It was too much to claim it was an accident and rely showing off.

Chu ngyao really wanted to kill Su Mo.

“I..I didn’t an to..I just wanted to help,” Chu ngyao desperately tried to pry the foot off her neck, but no matter how hard she struggled, it was in vain.

The man’s oppressive presence, that of a superior, suffocated her; his foot pressed into her neck bit by bit, as if intent on crushing her throat alive.

Chu ngyao’s eyes were bloodshot and her face had swollen to the color of liver, while Ai Yang and others at the side didn’t dare make a sound.

The man’s terrifying presence signaled to them that his strength far surpassed theirs.

“Stop!”

Mo Yan, having completed his evolution, ran down and urgently said, “Instead of fixating on who’s at fault here, we should be taking care of Su Mo.”

Coming down with him was Zhao Xiwen, who was taken aback by the sight of Chu ngyao but showed no intention of stepping forward to help.

Jianxiong directly threw a punch at Mo Yan’s face: “Motherfucker, you bunch of beasts, what faces you have.”

Jianxiong, now more powerful after leveling up, threw his punch with full force.

Mo Yan only felt the gust of the blow and narrowly avoided it.

Ai Yang pulled Mo Yan aside and quickly briefed him on what had happened.

Mo Yan’s expression turned significantly uglier.

“No matter what, ngyao is my person.

You have no right to deal with her,” he said.

At the building’s entrance, only a half-ter thick earthen wall stood in front of the door, showing signs of cracking.

Lu Chen looked at Su Mo in his arms, who was in bad shape, and suddenly released the foot that was stepping on Chu ngyao.

Just when everyone thought that he had spared Chu ngyao, heeding Mo Yan’s words, two icy barbs suddenly shot up from the ground; one pierced through her stomach, pushing her intestines onto the icicle, and the other ripped through her entire thigh, causing blood to gush out.

“No!” She hoarsely scread in agony, unfortunately, both strikes missed her vitals, leaving her only in excruciating pain until death.

“Let’s go,” Lu Chen said, carrying Su Mo, his silver hair framing his nacing eyes as he gave Mo Yan a fierce glance.

That look made Mo Yan step back; although now a Level 2 superpower user, he was utterly unable to withstand even a glance from Lu Chen, who had sohow ascended two levels.

He looked at the dying Chu ngyao lying on the ground, his eyes filled with complexity.

It seed…

he had no choice but to abandon her.

Li Qian was comforting Su Niang in the room when he saw Lu Chen return carrying the unconscious Su Mo, and shock crossed his mind.

“How did this happen?” Su Niang’s eyes reddened as she hurried over to touch her cold little hand: “I shouldn’t have let the miss go out.”

“We’ll talk outside,” Jianxiong sighed deeply after looking at Lu Chen, who was like a god of death; “Li Qian, hurry up and use your spiritual power to see how we can get out.

Outside is all fucking zombies.”

Li Qian stood at the window, looking down, and then shook his head: “It’s surrounded.

We can only break through from the least crowded spot.

Our car is parked by the prison entrance—we have to take that door.”

“Damn it,” Jianxiong kicked over a table in the room.

Lu Chen, carrying Su Mo, sat down beside the bed.

The brutal wounds on her arms and legs pained everyone in the room just to see them.

He took out the Healing Tea that she had given him from his space, attempting to feed it to her, but the water kept flowing out of the corner of her mouth without going in.

He poured a mouthful of the tea into his own mouth and then covered her lips with his, pouring everything into her pale, bloodless mouth.

The group watched him repeating the sa action until Su Mo’s bleeding stopped and the wounds began to heal slowly…
