"I got my period," Su Mo said through clenched teeth, "Just had a fight and a shower, it hurts a bit."

"Wait for ," Lu Chen adjusted her blanket, opened the door, and walked out. He soon returned with a glass bottle of hot water and a cup of steaming brown sugar water.

He took off his clothes, changed into pajamas, and first lay on the side to make sure his temperature was warm before scooping Su Mo into his arms, inserting the hot water bottle under the blanket against her belly.

"Drink so brown sugar water," he picked up the cup from the bedside table, checked to make sure it was cool enough, and then brought it to Su Mo’s lips.

With the dual comfort of the brown sugar water and the hot water bottle, Su Mo indeed felt much better and her brows slightly relaxed.

"I’ll stay with you for a while," Lu Chen pulled up the blanket, aligning his entire body next to hers.

"Mmm."

There was nothing he could do to take over her pain, but he did everything in his power to take care of her.

They slept until the following afternoon. When Su Mo opened her eyes, her belly was still warm. The glass bottle had been removed at so point, and now there was a large hand on her stomach.

He had stayed with her until now.

"Awake?" Asked a deep, husky voice from behind her.

Su Mo couldn’t help but turn around, noticing the light cyan under his eyes, and she exclaid in surprise, "You didn’t sleep at all?"

"Dozed off for a bit. I asked Aunt Jiang to make so porridge, are you hungry? She just lives next door, I’ll go get it," Lu Chen said as he climbed out of the blanket to fetch the food.

Su Mo stared at the ceiling for a while then, without the heat source, her belly started to ache faintly again.

It wasn’t until Lu Chen returned, holding a hot bowl of porridge and even wanting to feed it to her, that she responded.

Su Mo imdiately shook her head in refusal, grabbing the spoon, "It’s just my period, I’m not seriously ill, I can eat by myself."

Lu Chen didn’t insist. He handed her the bowl and then sat on the bed behind her to massage her belly.

With a night’s worth of hot porridge in her belly, Su Mo was tucked back under the blanket. She lazily didn’t want to move and nestled in his arms, asking, "Is the dam issue resolved?"

"It has been repaired," Lu Chen rested his chin on top of her head. Outside the window, the downpour continued unabated.

"Food consumption has sped up recently, and what’s brought back is also diminishing," Lu Chen conversed about external matters while his gaze grew contemplative.

Su Mo naturally understood that with the rain making it nearly impossible to move outside, the number of superpower users who could go out and search was minimal.

"Once this rain stops, the Beast Tide will co, right?"

Lu Chen fell silent for a mont before saying, "Unclear."

The course of the Beast Tide was always a mystery. Suddenly, Su Mo struggled to sit up in bed.

Lu Chen still covered her belly with the blanket before asking, "What are you doing?"

"Let Ling Ye co out," Su Mo waved her hand, and a flash of white light passed, leaving Yang Yichu appearing confused, sitting on the ground.

Seeing Su Mo, he simply said, "Hungry."

Su Mo moved closer and placed the two hands she had chopped off from Fatty the day before in front of him, "Want to eat this? Or wild beast at?"

Between human flesh and wild beast, Yang Yichu knew which to choose, and like gnawing on chicken feet, he bared his sharp fangs in front of them and devoured the two plump hands without leaving anything behind.

The air was still tinged with a slight scent of blood, but Su Mo didn’t mind, gently patting his head, "Full now? I need your help with sothing."

Yang Yichu’s gaze finally cleared a bit, and with big eyes topped with costic contacts, he said, "Is it the Beast Tide?"

He directly asked the question Su Mo had wanted to ask.

"How did you know?"

"Last ti, I warned Sister about that Beast Tide."

Su Mo: "I want to ask you to check where they are now, are they near P City yet?"

"Let see," Yang Yichu’s eyes shifted as his gray spiritual power spread out, and after switching through the perspectives of several zombies, a running zombie a thousand miles away stopped and turned its wooden gaze towards the approaching wild beasts.

Majestic, as far as the eye can see.

Reclaiming his spiritual power, Yang Yichu’s eyes beca sowhat fierce and his fangs were exposed. "At most, there are still 20 days."

Su Mo sat on the bed and fell into deep thought, "I understand."

It tilted its head to look at her, "Are you not pleased?"

"If it charges directly at us, then the Beast Tide will conquer the refugee camp. The traps outside are useless right now due to the heavy rain, and although the spikes on the city walls have been built, they probably won’t hold."

Coming from Tanghai City, having observed many places along the way, Yang Yichu thought for a mont and then said: "The bridge in Y City."

Su Mo’s eyes suddenly brightened, "You an to divert the beasts there?"

This suggestion had been made by Xia Cheng long ago, but they never knew how to implent it. Now, the answer seed to be right beside them.

The bridge in Y City was built very high, and if they could destroy the bridge deck, it would naturally beco a place to divert the beasts, with the river flowing underneath.

Lu Chen’s eyes also twinkled as he said, "I rember there’s a dish involving atballs in your cooking."

Su Mo nodded and, after bringing Yang Yichu back, said, "Right, I have a glutinous rice pearl ball that attracts the hatred of zombies, but I don’t know if it would work on mutant beasts."

Lu Chen, cuddling her to lie back down, said, "I’ll handle this."

Su Mo snuggled in his arms and sighed, "If it’s feasible, it inevitably requires a superpower user willing to consu my atballs."

"There is still ti, don’t think too much," Lu Chen pulled up the blanket and lay down with her.

For an entire week, Su Mo hadn’t left the bed, and to her surprise, the rain started to slowly stop during this week.

The work on the large pits outside resud, and the batch of bamboo Su Mo had transported was put to use.

Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, Su Mo gnawed on a homade sausage. Although the rain had stopped, the sun seed to have disappeared.

The entire day was cloudy, with no trace of sunlight appearing.

Having heard that she was much better, Zhao Changsheng and Jiang Yulian ca to visit.

Jiang Zhuoyang, unseen for a few days, had gained noticeable weight, and he was now clearly able to call out to ’mom’, ’sister’, and a few simple words. His plump face was at its most playful.

Su Mo pinched his cheek, sweetened by his calling her ’sister’ again and again.

"Are you feeling better? Won really suffer during their periods," Jiang Yulian touched her stomach, then sowhat gossiped, "Speaking of which, how co you and Chenchen always take such good precautions? There’s still no sign of a baby."

Su Mo’s smile stiffened, indeed, she and Lu Chen had always been very cautious in their protection.

Zhao Changsheng also got a bit gossipy, poking her stomach with his finger, "Although kids are noisy, if it’s your baby, I would love it."
