Chapter 438: Chapter 437: Safe Return

What was in front was rely a ruse, this was Su Mo’s main act.

An arrow had been shot into the tire by her bare hand, while another directly entered the skull of the driver beside him.

The flashy red convertible lost control and crashed into a nearby vehicle, unleashing a dazzling explosion.

In the vehicle behind and to the side, Feng Yao handed Feng Ba a bottle of Jasmine Tea. His originally pale complexion instantly turned rosier, feeling a surge of strength within his body. Feng Ba looked out from the vehicle and once again lifted a large pile of soil, creating a barrier between both factions.

Su Mo leaned out, glanced at the middle-aged man in the car following at the rear, and narrowed her eyes.

After Lu Chen accelerated past the border line, he and the following car vanished into the night.

Those people indeed did not cross that line.

The middle-aged man who had been watching from behind turned extrely dark-faced, his gaze ominously grim.

Su Mo was almost exhausted to the point of collapse, leaning back, yet rembered to hand a bottle of Zijuan Tea to the person who had been looking after Feng Qi, “This is Feng Liu, right? Feed him this, if he’s not dead, it should mostly heal his internal injuries.”

The other person gratefully accepted, straightened up Feng Qi’s green explosive hair, and forcefully poured the tea down.

On the way back to the camp, the sky had already brightened considerably. Lu Chen’s tense nerves relaxed slightly, and he found a house to stop at, “Let’s rest here for now.”

After parking the two cars, Su Mo rubbed her sowhat sour arms, stepped out of the car, and t up with Li Qian and others from the car behind, “Is everyone alright and uninjured?”

“We’re all good,” Jianxiong flexed his muscles, then rembered how he had punched away a counterpart. Despite his success, his mood inexplicably sank, “These people, really aren’t human like us.”

“There must be a lot of places suffering from famine. No one is producing food, and the land is completely ruined. Get used to this phenonon soon,” Su Mo sighed, lifting foot to pat his shoulder.

From inside the car ca a miserable scream from Feng Qi.

Feng Yao quickly ran over to check. “Is he badly hurt?”

Lu Chen got out of the car and looked at Feng Qi, whose hands and feet were damaged to varying degrees. He said indifferently, “His bones are nearly shattered, but the fact that he can still scream ans his heart isn’t badly hard.”

“Bone pain during reformation is inevitable. Don’t worry,” Su Mo spoke like soone who had been through it before, “I once broke several ribs myself. I also don’t want to experience that healing process a second ti.”

Hearing her say this, Lu Chen draped an arm around her shoulder and assured in a low voice, “There won’t be a second ti.”

Su Mo smiled, soothingly covering his hand with hers.

Zhao Changsheng walked over to their car and observing the gruesoly dead man, ntioned, “His death might be the cruelest one I’ve ever seen.”

Su Mo walked over, “Let’s pull him out and burn the body. Don’t just leave him here; give him so respect.”

At least, he wouldn’t end up as a al for mutant creatures and zombies.

A large fire burned away a body, and everyone was sowhat silent.

Zhao Changsheng couldn’t help but ask, “Those people, can’t we just kill them all? Keeping them, who knows how many more people they’ll eat.”

Su Mo leaned against the car and sighed, “If it were possible, of course I would want to, but this isn’t like that small village we encountered before. We can’t even estimate their numbers,”

“It’s a large organization,” Li Qian made a fair assessnt.

The implication being, we have neither the right nor the ability to interfere, we can only do what we must.

“We’ve killed so many of them and plundered a large amount of dicine, won’t they seek retribution? They must know these two armored vehicles are from the refugee camp,” Feng Yao raised a critical issue.

“If they dare to break the agreent with Rong Bai and encroach on us, then war, that would actually be a good thing,” Su Mo said with a smile, then added, “Not to ntion the number of superpower users in our camp, just the few of us alone are enough to give them a hard ti.”

“Actually, if they could negotiate and join together with the refugee camp, that would be great,” Jianxiong scratched his head.

Su Mo gave him a are-you-stupid look. “Rong Bai said from the start that there would be no possibility of negotiation. Those who have eaten human flesh are like beasts, they cannot be viewed as normal humans.”

“Those trapped in cages are really pitiable,” she sighed again.

“Eat sothing,” Lu Chen took out so water and canned food.

The hoods of both their vehicles were sowhat splattered with bits of flesh and bloodstains, which was quite nauseating, so they found a clear spot to eat.

Feng Qi’s healing was almost complete by the ti they finished their al.

He looked as though he had been fished out of water, reeking of rust and sweat—extrely unpleasant, but at least he was conscious again, and imdiately asked for water weakly.

Su Mo brought him a bottle of Biluochun Tea, and treated so of the abrasions on his body as well.

“How do you feel?” Feng Yao helped him lean back.

“Much better.”

The piercing pain in his heart had passed, and Feng Qi felt much lighter, although he could feel that the bones in his body weren’t fully healed yet. But with so rest, it was just a matter of ti.

Seeing his rosy complexion, Feng Yao felt relieved and handed him a can of food, “Eat a bit, we will head back soon.”

Feng Qi took it, and looked sincerely at Su Mo to express his gratitude, “Thanks.”

“Don’t ntion it, we are partners, and this is nothing,” Su Mo dismissed his thanks and sat back in the passenger seat.

It was now nearing noon, and they would reach the refugee camp by evening, faster than expected. They had thought it would take two nights, but it actually took only one day.

Later, the two vehicles shuttled through the territory marked out by Rong Bai. Apart from a few pursuing zombies, they encountered no issues.

When they arrived at the refugee camp, night had completely fallen.

The soldiers guarding the gate, recognizing the two familiar vehicles, imdiately went to inform Rong Bai.

The occupants of both vehicles were checked for bite marks and, finding none, were allowed inside. Rong Bai had been by the river with the children all day and hurried over when he heard the news.

Lu Chen’s vehicle was almost falling apart. He didn’t even look at it but felt glad to see the other party coming down from the vehicle and hugged him tightly, “You’re too quick.”

Lu Chen pushed him away indifferently and asked, “How are those people doing?”

Rong Bai lowered his voice, “After drinking my sister-in-law’s soup, even the most severely injured soldiers are still fine for now, they can still hold on a while.”

“Let’s go then, I’ve brought the dicines.”

“Let’s go.”

Lu Chen gave Su Mo a look, signaling her to follow, and she told Li Qian and the others behind her, “You guys go back to the district first, Lu Chen and I will be back soon.”

After bidding farewell to their companions, the two vehicles were taken back by the soldiers, who quietly discussed among themselves.
