Chapter 405: Chapter 404: The Child
Inside were four or five people with considerable superpower levels, battling against him.
The arrival of Feng Yao quickly ended the fight.
The whole room, due to the loss of the freezing liquid, began to slowly awaken the monsters, whose claws scratching on the glass grew clearer.
“It was Su Mo who sent us here, said we should et up here,” Feng Yao stood before Lu Chen, instantly recognizing sothing extraordinary about this man.
Although his level was inferior to his, he was nonetheless a person not to be underestimated.
Lu Chen furrowed his brow, “Where is she?”
“Wu wu wu!”
“Wa!”
“Daddy! Mommy! Wa!”
As the elevator doors opened at the entrance, more than thirty children, bunched together, ran out.
Lu Chen hadn’t finished his question when he saw these children and paused for a mont.
Li Qian stepped forward a few paces, “Where did these children co from?”
The children, crying in the corner with tears and snot, looked at them as if they were seeing demons.
“Western Laboratory, self-destruct countdown, 30 minutes.”
The chanical and cold female electronic voice echoed throughout the entire laboratory.
Feng Yao indeed knew what this was about, but now obviously was not the right ti to explain.
“Let’s talk outside.”
Just then, another group arrived in the elevator, and as Feng Yao aid his gun at them, he realized they were also children. Now there were more than fifty in total, and he also beca sowhat bewildered, “So many survived?”
Jiang Yulian had been holding children, protected by Jianxiong, and now seeing Ling Ye erging in the lead, she was sowhat surprised, “Isn’t that Ling Ye’s child!”
Ling Ye recognized them too and exclaid with joy, “Brother Lu, Aunt Jiang!”
He ran over to them with a gun, shaking his small hands, “Sister, sister will be on the next elevator.”
Lu Chen’s eyes lit up with joy, his gaze firmly fixed on the elevator numbers beginning to rise again.
Su Mo stood in the elevator, watching the venomous scorpion that lunged into thin air outside. Squinting her eyes, she saw a white figure dash past behind it, if she wasn’t mistaken, that seed like Su Yao.
He actually hadn’t been devoured!
As the elevator ascended, the doors to section S could no longer be seen, only incessant screams were heard.
“Ding.”
Through the glass doors, she saw the crowd waiting for her at the entrance.
The familiar figure stood at the front. Her eyes reddened instantly, the murderous rage subsiding to calmness because of those concerned phoenix eyes.
The mont the door opened, she raced out, enveloped tightly in the man’s embrace.
“Are you okay?” she clutched his waist, asking urgently.
“Very good, very good,” he held her head, kissing her hair, “You did great.”
“Alright you two, only 28 minutes left, we have to go,” Feng Yao clapped his hands, reminding them.
Su Mo held back her tears, stepped out from his embrace, and looked towards his companions by his side, none were missing.
Zhao Changsheng ca up excitedly, embracing her, “Momo!”
Su Mo patted her back, then said to Feng Yao, “What about the people in sections A and C?”
“My n have already gone to escort them, they should be at the exit now,” Feng Yao said.
“We’ll follow you,” Su Mo nodded.
Ti was critical, so they instinctively guarded the group of children in the middle.
“The elevator to the surface is different from this one; we need to go through the helicopter’s lift. If all goes well, we might even luck out and get a helicopter,” Feng Yao explained.
Su Mo and Lu Chen brought up the rear slowly, heading towards section B, which had a passage leading directly to the helicopter. This design was originally intended for legislators to make a quick escape.
Speaking of which, Feng Yao deliberately turned to look at Su Mo, his expression sowhat suggestive.
He knew more about the situation here than Su Mo had seen on the blueprints.
Of course, Su Mo also knew that those councilors were not going to escape by helicopter.
Because they had all died at her hands.
Along a pitch-dark road, only the ergency lights on either side emitted a faint, sinister red glow.
In Zone D, the sound of shattering glass echoed repeatedly as one bizarrely shaped monster after another slowly stepped out,
…
“Ahh!”
Su Yao stumbled along, having just injected himself with an Evolution Potion.
Now, his body began to react, the pure Evolution Potion causing his arms and legs to elongate as if disjointed, his limbs stretching out like those of a brown stick insect, the joints swelling up.
He fell to the ground, a position initially head-down, but as his legs began to move, he suddenly flipped over like a human spider, limbs inward, his head eerily rotating 360 degrees.
It was clearly the sound of bones being twisted, but he was still alive.
“Dr… Dr. Su!”
A researcher who was escaping ca upon this sight and was nearly scared out of his wits.
“I succeeded! I succeeded! Hahaha!”
Su Yao gradually stood up on his doubled-in-length legs, his hands suddenly morphing into scythe-like blades resembling the forelimbs of a praying mantis.
No one saw how he moved, but the researcher’s head flew off, a line of blood tracing across the neck.
Su Yao crouched down again, moving so fast he beca a re blur and disappeared down the corridor.
…
Su Mo continued walking, but her sense of danger abruptly increased; she turned her head sharply to look back.
Behind her, there was nothing.
“What is it?”
“Sothing feels off.”
Suddenly, Su Mo took out so Jasmine Tea and took a big sip, then handed it to Lu Chen, glancing at his abdon with a look of pain and apology in her eyes, “Are you hurt?”
The man rubbed the top of her head and said in a low voice, “It hurts, but you can make it up to when you get out.”
His half-joking tone made Su Mo slightly relax.
“We’re almost there,” Feng Yao said ahead.
They had co all this way and hardly encountered anyone; most had been cleared out by others ahead of them.
Lv Mao saw his boss from a distance, “Old Feng! Hurry!”
He stood with his group on a huge elevator platform.
Feng Yao couldn’t help but quicken his stride.
“Children?!”
A baker in the crowd saw the group of emaciated children running towards them and imdiately broke into tears.
People on the elevator platform beca excited; one by one, they reached out to help the children onto the platform.
Li Qian ran halfway then suddenly stopped and turned around, “Sothing’s coming!”
He almost shouted it at the sa ti as Su Mo.
“You guys go first,” Su Mo’s right hand instantly produced a Wooden Shield.
Seeing this transformation, Jianxiong was imdiately shocked, “Little sister, you’ve developed Wood Elent superpower too?”
Su Mo shook her head, “You quickly protect them and get up, you can’t handle that thing.”
If little sister said he couldn’t handle it, then he definitely couldn’t. Jianxiong decisively pulled Jiang Yulian and Ling Ye and sprinted away.
