161: Chapter 158: Origins 2 161: Chapter 158: Origins 2 Su Mo listened to her statent and couldn’t help but think she had guessed correctly, but there was one thing she was puzzled about, “Why did Lu Chen grow up in the Jiang Residence?”

“Power.

The family is too large, and my son is too young to withstand it.”

“So you accepted Lu Youwei’s suggestion to send your son away and marry him to gain a position?

He does have a wife already…” Su Mo furrowed her brows but then thought that everything seed too logical after all.

“The Lu Family cannot be without a master; this is the best way.”

Fang Ya nodded, with tears splashing onto the back of her hand, which pained her heart.

“Haven’t you ever thought that all this might be a calculated plan?” Su Mo found it sowhat amusing.

Given Lu Chen’s intelligence, he should have known that there was sothing fishy about it, and she didn’t believe he would hate soone so innocently and intensely.

Fang Ya’s expression froze.

It wasn’t that she hadn’t thought of it; it was just that Lu Youwei had been too kind to her, so much so that she willingly entered his embrace.

Su Mo shook her head with a sigh of pity, standing up and saying, “Why don’t you carefully consider who exactly threw you into the abyss?

According to what you said, everyone was shot to pieces, so how co only Lu Youwei returned unhard?”

Perhaps it wasn’t that she didn’t want to think about it but rather that she was unwilling to face it.

Su Mo opened the door and left alone.

As soon as she stepped out, she ran into Lu Jin, who was going upstairs with a whip in his hand.

Su Mo acted as if she didn’t see it and politely nodded to him, stepping aside to let him pass by as she went downstairs.

Lu Chen had already changed his clothes and was waiting for her downstairs.

Seeing her running towards him in a skirt, a soft glow filled his eyes.

He pulled up the collar of her trench coat and took her hand as they walked outside together.

Lu Jin stood in the stairwell, watching the two silhouettes leaving in the distance, his eyes deep and unfathomable.

In the pitch-black room, Lu Yuan was writhing in agony on the bed.

The doctor, who had already injected the antidote, stepped back two paces as Lu Jin entered.

“Why did you drug her?” Lu Jin stood in front of the bed and snapped the whip onto the floor.

The crisp sound of the whip startled Lu Yuan, who shrank back into the bed, crying, “I was wrong, brother.

I just love Lu Chen too much.”

In Lu Jin’s narrow eyes smoldered ferocity.

He lashed Lu Yuan’s back with the whip, his magnetic voice cold and rciless, “You may love him, but you are not allowed to be with him.”

No one is, to challenge his position.

Lu Yuan scread in agony, “I’m your own sister!”

At her words, Lu Jin lashed her again.

After seeing blood, he nearly lost control.

His dark eyes were like a beast of the abyss, capable of tearing a person apart.

He dropped the whip and hurried downstairs.

In a dark cell beneath the manor, a woman hung, not an inch of her skin intact.

Lu Jin sniffed the thick sll of blood in the air, picked up the spike-studded whip from the wall, and savagely struck the oblivious woman.

Again and again he whipped her, until her blood was almost drained, then he squinted his eyes in pleasure, wiped the blood from his face, threw the whip on the ground, and ordered the guard outside the door, “Get rid of it.”

“Yes.”

After Su Mo and Lu Chen returned to the villa, they didn’t rush inside.

Instead, they took a walk at the entrance as she had eaten too much.

Swinging Lu Chen’s hand, she asked, “You hardly ate anything just now.

Shall I make sothing for you when we go back?”

“No need.”

The two walked in silence until Su Mo was the first to speak, “What did you agree to with Vice Commander Jiang?”

Lu Chen stopped, looked down at her, and asked, “What did she tell you?”

Su Mo knew exactly who ‘she’ was.

She wrapped her arms around his waist and said softly, “Southern Island.

I’ll go with you, don’t think of leaving behind.”

Lu Chen sighed softly, “I had no intention of leaving you.”

He just hadn’t had the chance to say it, and he didn’t feel comfortable leaving her in City B.

Su Mo finally let go of him and said with a smile, “You are all I have, even if I have to die, I should die with you.”

“Okay,” his eyes darkened, touched at the core.

On the way back, Lu Chen took the initiative to explain the complex relationships behind the Lu Family.

Su Mo got to know almost everything she should and shouldn’t know, the only surprise being that Li Chuan was actually born to Lu Youwei’s mistress and had passed away early, which ant that Lu Youwei had a total of three won and four children.

She couldn’t help but silently curse, “What an old philanderer.”

The two returned to the villa, where Su Niang was upstairs bathing Ling Ye.

Upon hearing this, Su Mo went upstairs to bring him so clothes, as her System Bag still had a big pack of his clothes in it.

“Achoo!” Ling Ye sneezed, shivering.

Su Niang quickened her pace in wiping him down.

Without hot water, she could only give him a quick wash with cold water.

Su Mo tossed the clothes onto the big bed in their room, and upon hearing the loud sneeze in the bathroom, she couldn’t help but say, “Su Niang, next ti you wash him, call ; I’ll boil so hot water for you.”

The last thing they needed was for the old and the young to catch colds.

“I’m not cold, just have a ticklish nose,” Ling Ye’s voice ca from the bathroom.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Su Mo said, though once Su Niang ca out, she quickly grabbed an iron pot, filled it with water, boiled it, and then poured it into the tub that Su Niang had cleaned.

“Get to bed early after you’re done, I’m heading back to my room,” Su Mo said as she closed the door behind her and went downstairs to inform everyone that she was going to have her superpower tested in the morning before retiring to her room with Lu Chen for the night.

Early the next morning, Su Mo entered the kitchen early.

The Jiang Residence had sent over so things, but the seasonings were not complete.

However, the flavor of the Crucian Carp from the fish pond was fresh and not overly fishy, so she fried the prepared fish in a big iron pot for a while, then added so boiled water from a small kettle and tossed in so ginger and green onion pieces sent over, waiting for it to simr on high heat.

She also cooked so porridge in a rice cooker.

By the ti everyone got up and ca downstairs, they enjoyed a delicious breakfast of buns from Lu Chen’s Space with the porridge.

“Sister, making fish so early in the morning?” Jianxiong comnted while eating a bun and sniffing the fish aroma in the air.

Su Mo glanced at him, “It’s not for you.”

“Oh,” Jianxiong said, taking a large sip of porridge.

When the ti was about right, she turned the heat down to simr the fish a bit longer before turning the stove off.

She decided to take it over for a trial.

She packed the fish soup and brought it to Su Niang, “Su Niang, when we go out later, could you deliver this to the Jiang Residence next door for ?”

“Okay, sure,” Su Niang responded.

When leaving the house, Su Niang took Ling Ye to deliver the soup to Jiang Yulian while the rest got into the car and drove towards the Second Ring.
