Yelena Hughes’s mind went blank.

"Master, what’s up?"

"I’ve asked Hailey Jenkins to arrange a car to pick you up, co over after work."

That wouldn’t work; she still needed to deal with Shawn Thorne.

Yelena Hughes could only lie, "Master, I’m not in Southcross City."

The man was silent on the phone for a few seconds before speaking again, his tone sowhat displeased. "Where are you then?"

"I’m in Seridia chasing news, won’t be back until tomorrow."

Jasper Yale didn’t say anything more and hung up her call.

Yelena Hughes finally breathed a sigh of relief.

In the evening, as Yelena Hughes finished work and stepped out of the office building to hail a ride, soone stopped her.

The person held a gift box and approached her in a few steps, "You’re Yelena Hughes, Miss Hughes, right?"

"Who are you?"

"Master Thorne asked to bring you a dress, and I’ve picked out shoes for you too. He said he’d pick you up promptly at seven tonight."

Yelena Hughes reached out to take it; it felt weighty.

Back ho, she entered her bedroom and opened the gift box, there was a French little black dress inside. It exuded a high-end, cool style. Just for dinner, was it necessary to dress like this?

Yelena Hughes didn’t dare defy Shawn Thorne, fearing he’d retaliate.

She didn’t fuss with her look, just put on so makeup and let her hair down casually over her shoulders before heading out.

However, the heels were way too high, making it difficult for Yelena Hughes to go down the stairs.

Shawn Thorne was waiting for her in the car, and as soon as she got in, he instinctively glanced over her.

"Who told you to bundle up like this?"

She wore the dress, but it was covered by a long coat, leaving only her calves visible.

"It’s cold, I don’t want to catch a cold."

"Fine, but when we get out of the car, you have to take off the coat."

The driver started the car, and Shawn Thorne tapped his fingers against his leg, giving Yelena Hughes so instructions, "Once we’re there, don’t say anything unnecessary."

Even though Yelena Hughes had doubts, she didn’t ask more. "Okay."

The car stopped in front of a huge manor-style villa. Looking around, the place was brightly lit everywhere. Yelena Hughes followed Shawn Thorne out of the car.

"Where is this?"

"A place for dinner."

But Yelena Hughes already saw a gathering crowd not far away. Shawn Thorne glanced at her coat; it was really obstructive.

"Take it off."

"Clothes have nothing to do with dinner, do they?"

"Embarrassing like this?"

Shawn Thorne started to reach, grabbing Yelena Hughes’s arm. "Not showing off that little figure of yours is a waste."

"Let go, Master Thorne, so many people are watching."

Let them watch, does he fear losing face?

The right sleeve of Yelena Hughes’s coat was pulled off by him, and suddenly, a male voice sounded from behind, "Miss Hughes?"

The voice sounded sowhat familiar.

Yelena Hughes stiffened, unmoving. Hailey Jenkins ca up beside her, taking a look, "It really is you."

Her head slowly turned around, shadow darkening her face, and taking advantage of her high heels, Yelena Hughes barely swept her gaze over Jasper Yale’s face.

Thinly pressed lips and a faintly discernable mole.

Taking advantage, Shawn Thorne unexpectedly pulled away her coat.

The night breeze whipped through, her fair skin fell under Jasper Yale’s gaze, proud neck, straight shoulders, she wore a low-cut spaghetti strap dress.

Two slender silver chains clung to Yelena Hughes’s shoulders, while two others crossed her chest, creating a subtle bondage allure.

Shawn Thorne couldn’t help but assess, "Now that’s a woman."

Jasper Yale glared coldly at him, wanting to puncture his dog eyes.

"Let’s hurry inside; with such a beautiful date, I need to show off."

In front of Yelena Hughes, Jasper Yale stood blocking her path; the lie she told was easily exposed.

Jasper Yale’s face wore a smile, but his voice carried inhuman coldness, "Weren’t you in Seridia? Returning tomorrow, aren’t you?"

This...

Shawn Thorne laughed heartily, "You’ve got quite the nerve, daring to lie to Master?"

He reached out to hold Yelena Hughes’s wrist, addressing Jasper Yale: "Still, don’t bla her, she agreed to my invitation yesterday, promising to accompany tonight. Girls get embarrassed turning down the Master, so they have to lie."

Yelena Hughes wished he’d shut up.

"Didn’t Master bring a date tonight?" Shawn Thorne’s words indeed grated. "Why not bring Nancy Alden?"

Yelena Hughes’s face turned pale; Nancy Alden couldn’t attend such events, her legs still unable to stand.

Jasper Yale’s gaze slid from her shoulders downward, "What position did you co with him?"

Without waiting for Yelena Hughes’s response, Shawn Thorne pulled her into his embrace, "Forgot to introduce her to Master, she’s my girlfriend. She’s no longer The Sovereign Club’s Mimi, she’s my woman, Ellie Hughes."

Yelena Hughes felt sick, really, physically reacting.

Jasper Yale’s eyes half narrowed, completely unshielded were the beast-like anger within, "Seems the money I gave you isn’t enough?"

Fresh out of that dirty dump, yet thrown into Shawn Thorne’s embrace?

"Master not happy?" Shawn Thorne’s words carried open satisfaction, "You have your enchanting Miss Alden; I have my charming Ellie Hughes. No need to envy each other’s partners; we’re going inside."

Shawn Thorne leaned against Yelena Hughes as they walked in, Jasper Yale for the first ti developed a desire to kill him.

Once inside, Shawn Thorne led Yelena Hughes into the crowd.

n, they like face, they like to hear complints.

"Master Thorne’s date, she’s perfect, truly beautiful."

"Master Thorne has a keen eye; a match made in heaven."

"May I ask which family’s heiress this lady is, she looks unfamiliar?"

"Oh," Yelena Hughes replied, "I’m The Sovereign Club’s heiress, big brother, want a contact number?"

Shawn Thorne’s face suddenly turned cold; those across looked awkward.

He coldly tossed them words, "You mustn’t spread this around, especially before my father."

"Yes, yes, we absolutely won’t gossip."

Shawn Thorne pulled Yelena Hughes aside, "What did you an? Didn’t I say not to babble nonsense?"

"Huh? That can’t be said?" She feigned biting her tongue, "I didn’t an to."

A smile invited at Yelena Hughes’s lips; she instantly tested the waters. Causing a real scandal, Mr. Thorne wouldn’t allow this psycho free rein.

"Stay here, don’t move!"

Shawn Thorne felt uneasy, having to go back and instruct them again!

Only when he returned, the trace of Yelena Hughes was gone?

He spun around, face brimming with rage; this woman dared played him?

Yelena Hughes felt fear for the first ti, as earlier, she was grabbed and half-dragged into a room.

Along the way, she encountered several people, using her eyes to plead for help, but nothing ca of it.

Yelena Hughes watched the door kicked shut, the man’s hand still covering her mouth, but from him, she slled a familiar, fresh fragrance.

That was Master’s scent.
