"Where’s the person?"

Jasper Yale asked directly.

Yelena Hughes pointed to the hospital room, "It’s all right now."

Without knocking, Jasper pushed the door open and was about to enter. He looked at the stationary person, "You co in too."

Yelena walked inside. Walsh was getting an IV drip. Seeing Young Master Yale’s sullen face, she whimpered and groaned.

"Not dead yet?" Jasper’s words caused Yelena to glance quickly at Walsh.

"I’m not dead. Besides, if I were, could I still see you?"

Walsh attempted to move but, pulling on her wound, had to let out a hiss of pain.

"I’ve long told you, getting into trouble is bound to happen sooner or later."

Walsh recalled the stab from today, gritting her teeth with hatred, "Catch that little slut back and let vent my anger!"

Yelena remained silent. For a woman to be driven to stab soone, did it imply she had been subjected to much abuse?

For instance, if she refused Jasper, would she have been...?

Thinking this, Yelena distanced herself from Jasper.

The man noticed her action, feeling sowhat puzzled.

Walsh reached out to Yelena, "Thanks to you tonight; otherwise, I’d have died at her hands."

Yelena stood by the bed without extending her hand, "I couldn’t just watch you die."

"I’m Shirley Walsh. You can call Shirley."

Yelena realized she had already spent a lot of ti here, "I can’t help much by staying here, so I’ll leave now."

"Wait," Shirley called out to her, "You can’t leave. I... I need soone to take care of . I’m half-naked here."

Yelena thought to herself, How did she get involved in this?

"The hospital has caregivers."

"I don’t want those people touching . Please, be a good person till the end."

Jasper glanced at the woman on the bed, "No one’s watching. Just sleep with the blanket on."

Shirley felt fragile after narrowly escaping death, and she awkwardly shifted her body, grabbing Yelena’s coat sleeve.

"Do you suspect that Young Master Yale had an affair with that woman? Let tell you, our Young Master Yale has high standards—too pure, he doesn’t want; too seductive, he doesn’t want; small-chested, he doesn’t want..."

"Shirley Walsh." In Jasper’s tone, there wasn’t much anger, just a warning to stop.

Yet Shirley wasn’t afraid of him, "That woman has a flat chest; Young Master Yale wouldn’t look at her."

Yelena lowered her eyes; what did that have to do with her?

"She tricked out of my money. That night she was just acting in front of you. Young Master Yale never touched her."

Yelena felt awkward listening, "You don’t need to explain this to ."

Even if she heard it all, what difference would it make? She was not anyone significant to Young Master Yale.

The surrounding air seed frozen, Shirley thought this girl was courageous, and Jasper’s gaze was sharp, as if it could cut.

"You certainly talk a lot."

The woman on the bed pursed her lips, with Jasper’s cold aura all around, "Why explain so much to her?"

"I was just afraid... afraid she might get jealous."

Yelena felt a pang in her heart, as if soone had suddenly tossed a stone into it.

Jasper felt a bit irritated, quite uncomfortable, "Why would she be jealous?"

Shirley wasn’t sure if Yelena was jealous, but she thought Jasper seed angry enough to explode.

Yelena stood on the side, unsure whether to go or stay.

"Did the doctor say you could wear pants? If so, I can help you."

"You’re truly a good girl." Shirley tapped on the bed and called to Jasper, "Have soone bring so clean clothes for ."

Yelena waited at the hospital for a while, and sure enough, soone showed up carrying bags of things.

She picked a loose dress. Only she and Shirley were left in the room.

Yelena lifted the blanket. The wound was stitched and wrapped in gauze. She saw the tattoo on Shirley’s exposed abdon.

Carefully, she helped Shirley into the dress, moving gingerly so as not to hurt her.

Once dressed, Shirley asked, "You don’t hate ?"

"Why would I hate you?" Yelena gently tucked the blanket around her.

"After all, that night, I brought you in front of Young Master Yale."

Yelena lived with clarity and understanding, "No one forced ."

Shirley stared at her profile, thinking no wonder Jasper, placed atop a sacred altar, could be pulled down; such a girl, even she liked her.

"Did you see my tattoo? Is it nice?"

Yelena didn’t like having designs tattooed on herself but respected others’ preferences, "Well, I didn’t see what the design was clearly."

"It’s a matching tattoo with my man."

"That’s quite nice."

Yelena poured her a cup of water and placed it by the bedside, "I’m leaving now."

"Okay."

It was late, and Shirley couldn’t keep her; otherwise, Jasper outside would definitely have an opinion.

Yelena left the room, gently closing the door. She saw Jasper standing across, leaning against the wall, looking sowhat impatient.

Was he waiting for her?

Yelena’s clothes were still stained with blood, Shirely’s blood, which had dried, sticking to her jacket.

She averted her eyes, intending to leave on her own.

Jasper’s gaze was locked on her face, watching her take one step, then another, quickly passing in front of him without a word?

"Yelena Hughes!"

She stopped and looked at him, "Is there sothing you need?"

"Did I say you could leave?"

"Young Master, are you not letting go? What do you want?"

Jasper was stumped by her question, a word stuck in his throat. He held his cold deanor, flicking his lighter open and closed.

He eventually extinguished the fla, clutching the lighter in his large palm.

"Have sothing to eat with ."

Yelena should refuse, but the words wouldn’t co out.

So things people had done, she could rember for a lifeti, like who helped her send her father off on that last journey.

Otherwise, her widowed mother would have been bullied, and the coffin would have been taken and smashed. If it had co to that, Yelena surely would have fought them.

The two sat in a restaurant. Jasper handed Yelena the nu, but she didn’t reach for it.

"I’m not picky; anything is fine."

The man felt that her attitude toward him had clearly changed. Although they were not very close before, now it was evidently distant.

Jasper finished ordering, took a disinfectant wipe to clean his hands, and leaned against the chair back, staring at the woman opposite him.

"Yelena Hughes, you’ve grown quite capable. If I don’t co looking for you, you’d definitely never co to ."

Yelena’s mory has always been remarkable.

"Because Young Master said not to contact you anymore. I’ve always rembered that."

"Didn’t I also say that only I could decide when a relationship ends?"

Yelena acknowledged, "Yes, that’s why it was you who said it ended."
