It was a red brocade box, not a check. Mo Ran happily opened it to find a Golden Longevity Lock. Although it was much cheaper compared to the other gifts,
this gift carried a lot of aning.
"This gift is great, Brother Xu. I’ll thank you on Chenchen’s behalf," Mo Ran said, now calling him Brother Xu since he was engaged to Mo Yan.
Xu Yang, though his gift was modest, was not embarrassed by it, "No need to thank , it’s only right to give this to my future nephew."
In their conversation, everyone seed quite impressive; Mo Ran just smiled without saying anything.
After dinner, they sat in the living room making small talk for a while before Gu Yixuan had soone take them to their respective rooms to rest.
Mo Yan insisted that Mo Ran carry the child and co with her to her room. Knowing how much her sister wanted to hold Gu Chen, Mo Ran complied.
Once in the room with the door closed, Mo Yan excitedly took the baby from Mo Ran’s arms.
"Sweetheart, you’re so adorable. What should I do? Auntie loves you to bits! Give a kiss!"
Mo Yan gave him a big kiss. Gu Chen stared at her with his shiny black eyes and blew two bubbles.
"Ranran, he blew bubbles at ! Do you think that ans he likes ?" Mo Yan asked excitedly.
Mo Ran smiled and nodded, "Yes, he likes you a lot."
In fact, only she and Gu Yixuan knew that the baby blew bubbles when he wasn’t feeling well.
Mo Yan played with the baby for a while longer before finally stopping. Luckily, Gu Chen was very patient and rarely cried, no matter how much you handled him.
Otherwise, with all the kissing and coddling from Mo Yan, he would have probably cried several tis by now.
After placing the baby on the bed to lie down, Mo Yan finally pulled Mo Ran aside to ask the question that had been on her mind.
"Gu Yixuan told us that he didn’t die back then and later found you. But he didn’t tell us where you went or how he survived. Ranran, tell , what exactly happened during this period?"
"Is that all he told you?"
"Yes."
Mo Ran held Mo Yan’s hand, "Sis, if that’s all he told you, it ans there’s a reason for it. Don’t ask about the rest. The less you know, the better."
"I’m not afraid. Just tell ."
Mo Ran shook her head, "Sis, I really can’t say. Just know that we’re doing well. You don’t need to worry about anything else."
