"Have so water."
After saying that, Norman Bennett carefully held up the cup of water that had cooled down beside him, supported her neck with one hand, and gently fed her the water.
After drinking the water, she felt her mood improve slightly.
Although she was not satisfied with Norman Bennett’s decision, there was nothing else she could do.
Looking at the turned-off phone beside her, she said, "Give the charger."
Her tone was a bit harsh, but her soft voice sounded more like she was acting spoiled.
"Okay."
The man knew she was still angry, so his tone was extra gentle.
At this mont, a notification sound from a phone rang.
Clearly, it wasn’t hers, since she didn’t even have a charger right now.
Norman Bennett picked up his phone, glanced at it, and frowned.
Seeing this, she curiously leaned over; it was a chat between Norman Bennett and Raymond Wood.
[Has Sumr Hue been to Frontier City?]
This was what Norman Bennett sent.
And Raymond Wood replied [President, Sumr Hue has no travel record to Frontier City, including airport, train station, bus station, or self-drive.]
Why would he suddenly check up on Sumr Hue? When she raised her eyes to look at the man, he was already looking at her.
"What happened? Is sothing wrong?" She was the first to speak, knowing Zane Bennett had just called Norman Bennett.
Although she didn’t know what had happened, she felt it was not a good thing.
Just as Norman Bennett was about to say sothing to her, the phone rang again.
Raymond Wood: "President, Miss Sumr Hue disappeared after entering the underground parking lot at North City Airport, and coincidentally, the surveillance inside the parking lot is broken today."
...
North City.
"Bro, what’s the situation?" Zane Bennett had just co out of the underground parking lot, and he had searched far and wide, but found nothing.
His heart couldn’t help but grow anxious.
"Sumr sent a ssage saying she ca to see , sent at 7 AM this morning. Raymond checked, there are no travel records for her, the last appearance was at the airport parking lot. Do you think she might still be there?"
The voice over the call was a woman’s, with a slightly urgent tone; clearly, it was Elliana Lyle’s.
No travel records?
Impossible, he had already searched the parking lot, and Sumr’s car was parked perfectly, with no traces around it.
He said, "I’ve searched the parking lot, I’m heading to find a staff mber to check the surveillance footage."
As he spoke and was about to run toward where the staff was, Elliana said over the phone, "The surveillance in the parking lot broke today. Quickly, report this to the police."
"What?" Zane Bennett froze in place, the surveillance broke? How could it just break today?
This was too much of a coincidence.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, his heart suddenly tightened!
"Alright, I’ll report it to the police now!"
Beep—!
The call ended, and it was Zane Bennett who hung up.
Elliana Lyle stared at the disconnected call, unable to calm herself for a long ti.
Praying in her heart, hopefully, nothing bad had happened, praying fervently.
"Don’t worry, we’ll find her."
Faced with Norman Bennett’s words of comfort, she broke down instantly. She had narrowly escaped herself, and the last thing she wanted was for anything to happen to those around her.
But Sumr Hue, a perfectly fine person, disappeared after entering a parking lot; how could this not be an issue?
"Norman Bennett, can you... can you show the footage of the parking lot’s exit and entrance?"
She knew that Norman Bennett had the capability to access the surveillance videos.
Although she wasn’t soone adept at solving mysteries, she wanted to find the person as swiftly as possible.
"Sure."
Norman Bennett nodded slightly, agreeing.
Upon learning that Sumr Hue might have disappeared, he had already dispatched a number of people to search the airport and forwarded the surveillance ahead to Raymond Wood in North City.
Soon, Raymond Wood sent her over the surveillance video, which was over six hours long.
She played it at double speed, seeing many cars leaving the parking lot, but everything seed normal.
Only a white Volkswagen appeared sowhat suspicious to her.
Pausing it, she discovered a red mark on the door of the white car.
Due to the nature of surveillance, she couldn’t see clearly what it was, but she couldn’t ignore it.
Comparing it with the entrance footage, she found that the car entered at 7:15 AM. It was clean, without any red mark.
And... this car was right behind Sumr Hue’s car!
It exited at 7:24 AM, but what happened during those few minutes, no one knew.
When she looked up, she realized Norman Bennett was no longer in the hospital room, probably off to the restroom.
After all, Frontier City’s hospital rooms didn’t co with attached restrooms, only one at the far end of the corridor outside.
Perhaps Norman Bennett went to fetch her so food.
Once she finished this last bottle of IV fluid, she could be discharged.
She then sent the screenshot of the Volkswagen to Zane Bennett, saying, "This car seems suspicious; when it went in, there was no red mark on the door, but it had one when it ca out, plus this car followed Sumr Hue’s car."
Zane Bennett: "Got it, I’m going to look for it."
...
North City.
Abandoned rubber factory.
A white Volkswagen stopped by the cent road, a very distinct red mark on the right door.
"Ren, be careful with your actions, don’t harm her."
The speaker was a middle-aged man, dressed in a black casual jacket, wearing a mask, with cold eyes, and an even colder tone.
If observed closely, one would notice a faint scar running across his eye.
The two being addressed were carrying an unconscious girl towards the inside of the deserted factory.
Ren noticed a red mark on his glove, and with disdain, rubbed it off on his clothes.
Since it was the outskirts, there weren’t many people around, coupled with the factory being abandoned for years, deserted and unvisited for a long ti, the cent floor had cracked, allowing many weeds and wildflowers to sprout through.
Cent walls were crawling with lush climbing ivy, possessing a chaotic yet natural beauty.
Especially the distant sunset, casting an orange glow over the abandoned factory, adding a layer of luminance to it.
The four of them eventually disappeared into the factory’s entrance.
...
--- 10 PM.
Inside the factory, the girl was placed on a wooden panel, which appeared rather clean.
Disheveled hair strands concealed the girl’s face, rendering her features indistinguishable.
Soon after, the girl woke up, struggling to sit up, clutching her dizzy head.
After a long while, she tiptoed her fingers through her ssy hair, revealing herself as Sumr Hue.
Outside, the cold moonlight ca in through the glassless window.
Where is this?
Before she could assess her surroundings, she realized her clothing was disheveled, a sudden uneasy feeling surged through her heart.
After calming down, she figured nothing had happened, after all, she could tell, and could feel if sothing had transpired.
Sighing in relief, she began to recall.
That morning, she was driving to the airport, got off the car in the parking, and had her mouth suddenly covered.
Then...
She couldn’t rember.
While dazedly recollecting, a light appeared outside.
Neither too strong nor too weak, just an ordinary phone flashlight.
"Sumr, Sumr."
A man’s voice calling brought Sumr Hue back to reality, and it ca from the light’s source, she looked that way.
The voice seed very familiar, but her head felt foggy, unable to recall imdiately.
It was Zane Bennett!
He had co to find her.
So she shouted, "I’m here."
