"Oliver??" Elijah mumbled his na.
Oliver just smiled charmingly at his girlfriend, opening his arms as if he was waiting for Elijah to throw herself in his arms for a warm hug.
She didn't expect that Oliver would follow her here at the City of Empire. She thought he was still abroad. But little did she know, Oliver also left the country, having the sa flight with her.
He contacted Ayumi first and Ayumi inford Allen about Oliver's surprise to Elijah. Ayumi and Oliver already t twice as Elijah introduced him to her as her boyfriend a few months ago.
Elijah was too surprised to take a step so Oliver was the one who closed their gaps, wrapping her in his arms.
Christian looked away as soon as Oliver hugged Elijah. He didn't know why but he hasn't prepared himself to this day. He was caught off guard when Allen ntioned that the guy was Elijah's boyfriend. This was the answer to his question. Elijah was indeed in a relationship now.
His mood turned ugly after eting Elijah's boyfriend. He felt more downcasted than before. Without saying a word, Christian left the rooftop as he went to the comfort room.
When Elijah turned around, Christian was no longer standing beside her. On the other hand, Myrene saw Christian leaving the rooftop. She simply excused herself from the group to secretly follow him.
She could see how Christian got affected when Oliver showed up.
'Does he have feelings for Elijah?' Myrene wondered to herself.
anwhile, Elijah and their friends made sure to entertain Oliver. Aside from Ayumi, this was the first ti Oliver t Allen, Kenji, and Christian. But Elijah always ntioned them to him, most especially Christian.
He knew that Allen was working at the Sy Corp and he might beco a very important figure in the future including Ayumi. One of them would be the heir or heiress of the Sy Corp.
Christian Davis was also a notable person since he might be the one to inherit the Heavenly Star Enterprise. Kenji was also the heir of the Cullen's Company.
Since Oliver was also a businessman and managing his own company, he was familiar with them. But compared to them, his company was not that big. Sy Corp, Heavenly Star Enterprise, and the Cullen's Company were still the big companies here in the City of Empire.
If he could manage to partner up with one of them, it would be advantageous to his company. So he made sure to attend the housewarming party of Allen through his girlfriend, Elijah.
"Oliver, you are so sweet. You can't endure to be separated from your girlfriend, that's why you followed her right away!" Allen began teasing the couple.
Oliver just smiled faintly and grabbed Elijah's hand while looking into her eyes. "Who wants to be part with their girlfriend, especially if she is so charming as my girl?"
Ayumi, Kenji, and Allen shrieked in laughter after hearing Oliver's remarks. Elijah could only smile ekly, hiding her embarrassnt. She was not used to this kind of situation.
Oliver was doing a public display of affection in front of her friends. This was making her uncomfortable.
Then she looked around and felt relieved when she didn't see Christian. She would feel more embarrassed if Christian was there, listening to Oliver.
"By the way, where are Christian and Myrene?" Allen finally realized that two people were missing– Christian and his secretary.
"Myrene went to the comfort room!" Ayumi responded as Myrene told her a while ago when she excused herself.
"Then how about Christian?" Allen asked once again. "He hadn't greeted our special guest yet," he added, referring to Oliver.
Oliver just chuckled while scratching his face. Deep inside, he was also looking forward to eting and talking with Christian. He just heard that Christian had beco the new CEO of the Heavenly Star Enterprise. He wanted to build a strong bond with these people.
"Don't worry about Christian. He is a big guy now. This house is not big. He won't get lost!" Kenji joined the conversation. He picked up the microphone once more, getting ready to sing another song.
The group just laughed because of Kenji's reaction. He truly loved singing. They continued the party.
Downstairs… Myrene had been waiting for Christian. It took him a lot of ti before he left the comfort room. When he stepped out of the comfort room, he was surprised to see Myrene, leaning on the wall, facing the comfort room.
"What are you doing here?" Christian asked her.
"I'm waiting for you. Sir, can I ask you a favor?" Myrene didn't hesitate to ask him.
Christian gave her a confused look. "What is it?"
Myrene fell silent for a mont, trying to assess Christian's current mood. After a while, she told him what she wanted.
"I wanna go ho. Can you give a ride?" Myrene just wanted Christian to be saved from further heartache. She could tell that Christian was bothered by Elijah's boyfriend. She didn't know how Christian could endure seeing his close friend with her boyfriend.
Myrene assud that Christian wouldn't refuse her this ti because he would also try to avoid going back to the rooftop. In fact, she felt like she was the one doing him a favor.
"Okay. I will just inform Allen." Christian was about to go to the rooftop but Myrene stopped him by grabbing his elbow. Christian turned to look at her.
"No need to go back, Sir. You can just ssage him. Do you think they will allow you to leave if you go back there?"
Christian was not able to refute that. Myrene was right. He could already imagine his friends and cousins. They would try to convince them to stay.
"Okay. Let's go. I will just ssage Allen."
Myrene's lips curled up into a satisfied smile because of Christian's decision. She cheerfully followed him to the garage. That's when he realized that Christian didn't bring a car. Allen was the one who fetched them.
"I don't have a car…"
Myrene giggled and said, "Oh it's okay sir. We can just walk, going to the main gate of this village. I can ride a taxi outside."
Since it was already late at night, Christian accompanied Myrene until they reached the main gate of the private villa, sending her off. The two were quiet but Myrene felt so happy just walking with him side by side.
When the Taxi arrived, Christian opened the car door for her. "Have a safe trip. Text if you reach your ho safely. Don't worry, I will take a photo of the plate number of this taxi."
For the first ti, her indifferent and aloof Boss beca generous and considerate of her. "Thank you, sir! I will update you as soon as I arrive ho."
Christian just nodded his head. Then he turned to the Taxi driver. He already paid for her taxi fare.

Twenty minutes later, Myrene reached her destination. Her mother was waiting for her in the living room.
"How's the party? Did you get closer to your Boss?"
Myrene just shook her head but the smile on her face never left. "Not yet, Mom. But I guess… I am making a progress."
"Good, Myrene…" Then her mother picked sothing from the table. It was a transparent battle with violet liquid inside.
"Why don't you start adding this potion to his drink, my daughter…" A aningful smile flashed on her face.
