Chapter 29: Chapter 29 Gentle treatnt by Bo Jingyan _1

Xia Qingtian suddenly lifted her head, her expression terribly agitated. “Why did you only tell

about such an important matter now?!”

Bo Jingyan had actually sent soone to investigate her.

What exactly does he know?!

Xia Guohua saw her outburst and furrowed his brows in confusion, asking, “Qingtian, what’s wrong?”

“Dad, what did you say to his assistant?” Xia Qingtian took a deep breath, her face unusually solemn.

She couldn’t be sure anymore.

Whether she was safe or not.

Whether Bo Jingyan had already discovered her true identity and was just playing along, or if he was just suspicious…

“I didn’t say much. He ca into my office for a while, took a picture of you from when you were a child and left.” After Xia Guohua recollected the events, he saw her making a bigger deal than necessary, worried that sothing had happened, he couldn’t help asking, “Qingtian, honestly tell , what happened between you and young master Bo?”

A picture of her when she was a child?!

Xia Qingtian felt a sinking sensation in her heart and quickly inquired about what the picture looked like.

When she found out it was from her middle school days, she breathed a huge sigh of relief.

She was plump as a child, and her appearance was sowhat different from what she looked like now.

Bo Jingyan has never asked about her pictures, it seed like he didn’t suspect her in that regard.

False alarm.

With so many ups and downs that night, Xia Qingtian felt that any more shocks could make her faint.

“Qingtian, you and….”

“Dad, nothing happened between

and young master Bo. I’m going to have a rest in my room, rember, if Bo Jingyan cos looking for you again, you must inform

imdiately! And don’t tell him anything!” Xia Qingtian interrupted him. Her tone was exceptionally serious and her face solemn.

Xia Guohua saw that she didn’t want to further discuss it, hesitated for a mont, and then nodded, not asking any more questions.

Did they, the young couple, have a falling out?

Xia Qingtian returned to her bedroom, changed into comfortable clothes, collapsed onto her bed, and her mind was flooded with various thoughts.

When will these days of constant fear end?

She sighed, turned over, and saw the jewelry box on the table from the corner of her eyes, her expression beca complicated.

Xia Qingtian toss and turned all night, unable to sleep because of the anxiety that filled her mind.

The next day, despite the dark circles under her eyes, she went to work and was even teased by her colleagues.

After work in the evening, Xia Qingtian hurried ho to prepare dinner.

As she walked in, she saw Bo Jingyan sitting on the sofa in the living room. Xia Qingtian was taken aback for a mont, greeted him awkwardly, “Young master Bo, you ca back early today.”

Bo Jingyan was a workaholic.

Usually at this ti, he wouldn’t be at the villa.

Seeing her exhausted face, Bo Jingyan coldly turned a page of the business magazine he was holding, his expression indifferent, disregarding her.

Xia Qingtian touched her nose awkwardly and went into the kitchen to prepare dinner.

Not long after.

The butler suddenly ca up behind her and said with a smile, “Miss Xia, in the future you won’t have to rush here anymore.”

Xia Qingtian was shocked, then turned around, her face filled with joy. “I’ve been fired?!”

Could she finally stop serving Bo Jingyan and live without fear every day?!

The butler was startled for a few seconds, then shook his head awkwardly and explained, “You’ve misunderstood. The young master sees how hard it is for you to rush here every day. He told

to arrange for a chauffeur to pick you up and drop you off from now on.”

Xia Qingtian paused in chopping vegetables, sowhat surprised, “Did he just say this?”

It’s like growing lons on a cornstalk.

Was Bo Jingyan actually being nice to her?

The butler nodded solemnly.

Xia Qingtian was silent for a while, then continued chopping vegetables, her mind whirling.

Giving her a necklace, providing a car.

It was as if Bo Jingyan couldn’t give her enough apologies or compensations.

However… She still deceived him after all.

Receiving these benefits made her feel sowhat guilty.

She was not used to it initially, but after a few days of the sa routine, Xia Qingtian eventually adapted to Bo Jingyan’s behavior.

Ever since that auction night, Bo Jingyan’s attitude towards her had made a complete 180-degree turn!

He not only stopped nitpicking but even started treating her well, occasionally engaging in casual chats when he was in a good mood.

Xia Qingtian felt elated, her mood significantly improved as she went to work every day.

It seems that Bo Jingyan is not as cold-hearted as while he sotis cos across as quite adorable!

In A City, the setting sun cast a warm glow. It was the end of work, the streets bustling with pedestrians and traffic.

The sky was now dusky, the red sunset clouds held a hint of darkness, their beauty was incomparable.

Xia Qingtian did not have to cook for Bo Jingyan today, she had the day off.

Just as she was about to head straight ho after work, her phone rang from inside her bag.

She pulled out the phone to see a call from Bo’s grandfather.

She realized that she hadn’t been in touch with her grandfather for a while.

Xia Qingtian pressed the answer button and began the call while heading towards the subway station.

“Qingqing, it should be the end of your workday, right?” Grandpa Bo’s caring voice ca through.

Hearing this, Xia Qingtian felt warmth in her heart, she laughed and replied, “Grandpa you’re spot on, I just left the office.”

“That’s perfect, why don’t you accompany

for dinner at the old mansion?” Grandpa Bo’s slightly old voice was exceptionally gentle.

Xia Qingtian hesitated for a few seconds before answering.

The last ti her grandfather had summoned her over… it was to set her up with Bo Jingyan.

It was very close that they bumped into each other.

This ti, if she bumped into him at the old mansion…

Then her true identity would surely be exposed!

Upon hearing her hesitation, Grandpa Bo imdiately guessed her concerns and reassured her, “Don’t worry, this ti it will just be the two of us.”

Xia Qingtian thought to herself: That’s what you said last ti…

“The company’s 60th anniversary is next month and Jingyan is caught up with that,” Grandpa Bo noted her hesitation and sounded sowhat sorrowful, “Qingqing, don’t you even trust your own grandfather?”

“No! Grandpa, I’m on my way now!”

Upon hearing Grandpa Bo’s question, Xia Qingtian hurriedly dismissed her concerns and imdiately agreed.

“Alright then, I’ll have the kitchen prepare your favorite dishes.” Upon hearing her agreent, Grandpa Bo’s voice sounded cheerful again.

“Thank you, grandpa.”

After exchanging a few more words with him, Xia Qingtian hung up the call and hailed a cab.

She took the cab to the old mansion.

As soon as she entered, Butler Zhang warmly greeted her and said, “The old master is waiting for you in the Bamboo Garden. I’ll take you there.”

Xia Qingtian nodded and followed him towards the Bamboo Garden at the back of the estate.

The Bamboo Garden was elegantly designed, with a cobblestone path leading to a pavilion at the end, surrounded by various types of bamboo plants. The rustling of the bamboo leaves in the wind filled the air.

Right now, old master Bo was sitting in the pavilion enjoying his tea. Dressed in a white traditional suit, he exuded an air of refined elegance.

Xia Qingtian walked into the pavilion.

Seeing her, old master Bo smiled kindly and turned to instruct a servant, “Pour so tea for the young madam.”

“Yes.” The servant bowed and left.

Xia Qingtian sat opposite old master Bo and, upon seeing his good spirits, she asked with concern, “Grandpa, how are your legs? Have they improved?”

“Thanks to your tily care last ti, I’m much better now!” After old master Bo finished speaking, his tone suddenly changed as he chuckled, “Qingqing, how have things been going with Jingyan lately?”

Xia Qingtian chuckled awkwardly and softly replied, “It’s okay.”

There hadn’t been any major conflicts so far.

One could say things were okay.

“I heard you’ve been cooking for Jingyan recently. He really enjoys your cooking.” As old master Bo said this, he picked up his teacup and gently blew on the hot steam, a glint of light sparkled in his cloudy eyes.
