Chapter 65: Chapter 65 Song Xiao Declares Love to Sister Man

“A blind date? A party?” Jiang Man stopped and raised her eyebrows, “You still need to do that? With the flashy way you’re dressed, there shouldn’t be a lack of won around you, right?”

“You’re right, there’s no lack,” Song Xiao scratched the end of his eyebrow awkwardly, “But the old man doesn’t approve of any of them; he says all the won around

are no good. You know how it is, he’s getting on in years and just wants to see the tenth generation of the Song Family, otherwise, he won’t die at peace.”

“Please, my dear sister, I’m begging you, just take so ti to accompany ,” Song Xiao wheedled.

It’s said that a woman who wheedles is the luckiest.

And when a man wheedles, it’s just as lethal.

Jiang Man rubbed her temples, resisting internally, but she still nodded, “Fine, but I have an appointnt with my uncle, so your blind date party isn’t urgent, is it?”

“Not urgent at all—it doesn’t start until eleven. You go ahead with your plans,” Song Xiao imdiately bead a smile, like a sly male fox.

Jiang Man didn’t say much more and walked towards the park.

Song Xiao followed behind at a leisurely pace, maintaining a proper distance.

When Jiang Man arrived at the agreed spot, she found that there were already quite a few groups of people at the fountain plaza.

So were practicing Tai Chi, others were dancing in the square.

She looked around and quietly made her way to Hu Guanghua’s side, watching his movents and mimicking them.

“You’re here?” Hu Guanghua caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye and saw the young woman synchronizing with his movents in a very standardized manner.

Tai Chi is a slow-paced exercise, unlike martial arts.

Martial arts emphasize power and speed, but Tai Chi prioritizes the standardization of movents.

“Manman, have you learned Tai Chi before?” Hu Guanghua asked incredulously.

Jiang Man shook her head, “I haven’t.”

She preferred more intense sports, like boxing and Sanda.

Tai Chi required too much patience, and she was not a patient person by nature.

“You’re quite talented,” Hu Guanghua smiled appreciatively, pleased that his niece was willing to join him in this exercise popular among middle-aged and older people, and that she was learning it so earnestly.

Nearby, by the flowerbed, Song Xiao was bored to death, resting one foot on the edge of the flowerbed with his elbow propped on his thigh, his gaze fixed on Jiang Man.

Jiang Man seed like a unique landscape, especially eye-catching among the rugged old n.

He couldn’t help but curl his lips upward, shaking his head.

Over the years, he had t a lot of girls—maybe not a thousand, but definitely a few hundred.

Those girls made him feel either overwheld by their extravagant attire and jewels or embraced an elegant simplicity as if they were the irreplaceable moonlight in soone’s life.

No matter the type, their interests were surprisingly uniform: they liked cute and lovely things, knew how to dress up, would show weakness in front of the opposite sex, and actively seek affection.

Song Xiao felt that to a large extent, they fed into his sense of male chauvinism.

But Jiang Man was different, always cool and aloof.

Her tastes were unique, not sothing you’d find other girls interested in.

In front of her, Song Xiao felt weak, sotis even delicate?

“Ahem, ahem, ahem.” Thinking of the words weak and delicate, Song Xiao’s cheeks flushed with embarrassnt.

He realized that at so point, he had developed a sense of admiration for Jiang Man.

He thought that if Jiang Man hadn’t married Lu Xingzhou, he would have pursued her without hesitation.

Unfortunately, although they were fated, they were not destined, relegated to being just like siblings.

“Young lady, you’re quite good at Tai Chi!”

“Did you co by yourself, or are you accompanying your parents?”

“How old is the young girl, single?”

As the Tai Chi session ended, a group of grandfatherly figures surrounded Jiang Man, showing imnse enthusiasm.

Jiang Man responded politely to each of the grandfathers, pointing to her side: “I ca with my uncle, I’m married.”

“Married so young?” A white-bearded elder showed a look of disappointnt: “I was actually thinking of introducing you to my grandson! He graduated from a top university and just started working this year.”

“This child is really filial. My granddaughter would rather stay ho and sleep in than keep this old man company.”

“You’re really blessed.”

Hu Guanghua bead with pride at the flattery from the group of old n, continually agreeing: “Yes, my niece is very filial.”

“Uncle, have so water.”

In the midst of their lively conversation, Song Xiao arrived, carrying a bag of items.

He took a bottle of water out of the plastic bag and handed it to Hu Guanghua with respect.

Hu Guanghua was taken aback.

“Young girl, is this your husband? He seems pretty filial too! Just right, I’m thirsty after practicing Tai Chi!” An elderly man looked at Song Xiao with curiosity and envy.

Song Xiao, a bit confused, got ready to give another bottle of water to Jiang Man.

“He’s not, he’s my brother.” Jiang Man assertively reached out, took the mineral water from the bag herself, and raised an eyebrow at him: “Thanks.”

“I bought quite a few ice creams; which one would you like?”

Even though it was the end of August, the weather was still very hot.

Jiang Man glanced at the plastic bag and picked a Cutey.

“Grandpas, would you like so?” Song Xiao imdiately opened the bag and paraded it in front of the elders.

The elders all waved their hands in refusal.

“Turns out he’s the brother.” They simultaneously looked at Hu Guanghua, their admiration intensifying, assuming Song Xiao was Hu Guanghua’s son.

After chatting for a while longer, one elder ntioned he had to go back to look after his great-grandchild, another said he needed to buy breakfast for his spouse.

The crowd bustled, and soon, most had dispersed.

Once everyone had left, Hu Guanghua finally turned to Song Xiao: “Manman, who is he?”

“Big uncle, let

introduce him. His na is Song Xiao, he’s the grandson of the great calligrapher Song Wenzhi. A few days ago, Old Song took

as his goddaughter, so Song Xiao and I have beco siblings.”

“I see!” Hu Guanghua nodded in astonishnt, secretly impressed by his niece’s capability.

He had been worried that her being found would lead to hardship; instead, she managed, on her own rit, to make a great calligrapher recognize her as his goddaughter.

Hu Guanghua nodded in contentnt, gently patting Jiang Man’s shoulder: “Good girl!”

His call of “good girl” made Jiang Man freeze.

Hu Guanghua just smiled and didn’t explain, changing the subject: “Shall we go for dim sum?”

“Sure.” When it ca to eating, Jiang Man barely hesitated.

By the ti the three of them had finished dim sum, it was already past ten o’clock.

Jiang Man inford Hu Guanghua and Song Xiao that she had sothing to do, so the three of them parted ways at the dim sum restaurant.

On the way to the matchmaking event, Song Xiao, driving the car, suddenly let out a snicker.

“What are you laughing at?” Jiang Man, resting in her seat with her eyes closed, asked casually.

Song Xiao imdiately beca like a dam opened, babbling non-stop: “At dim sum, your big uncle kept praising ! You have no idea, I’ve hardly ever been praised from childhood, especially with Lu Xingzhou around to make

look all the more worthless.”

“Manman, do you think if you hadn’t married Brother Zhou first, we might have had a chance? Back at the plaza, those elders thought I was your husband, right?”
