Zhuque’s leg was ruined, which was within Wushuang’s expectations. If everything was as she suspected—a sche orchestrated by Mo Yao and Kaka—then they would have gone all the way. No matter how skilled Fang Jiaqi was, she couldn’t have fully restored Zhuque’s leg.
Mo Yao, the instigator, showed no remorse, as if it had nothing to do with him. Wushuang asked Zhuque, then Fang Jiaqi, but they seed fine, only saying they felt unwell and had fainted from exhaustion. Chu Chu seed to have sothing to say, but ultimately said nothing.
Mo Xiaobai was completely oblivious to everything, only busy playing with Chu Chu. Chu Chu complained softly, "I thought I could stay here with you guys longer, but I didn’t expect to leave so soon."
She felt a little reluctant, not knowing when they would et again.
Mo Xiaobai teased her, "Little cutie, you’re going to Arica with your brother Xiaobai? There’s a fashion show next week, and we’re short a female companion."
Chu Chu rolled her eyes, not believing Xiaobai at all. "Brother Xiaobai, who are you kidding? Soone like you doesn’t need a female companion? I don’t want to be your female companion, no, I don’t want you to be my male companion."
The little girl arrogantly expressed her contempt for Mo Xiaobai. Mo Xiaobai chased after her, hitting her. Chu Chu laughed and dodged, accidentally seeing Wushuang and Long Chengtian arguing nearby. She felt a little down. In little Chu Chu’s heart, Wushuang should stay with her brother. She rembered
a small incident from earlier. After hearing Qinglong talk about Kaka and Wushuang in the garden, she ran to find Kaka, only to see her brother lying on the bed clutching his chest, looking very uncomfortable. Chu Chu was startled. She thought he was sick and wanted to call a doctor, but he sat up, acting as if nothing was wrong. Chu Chu didn’t know if he was actually unwell, but he seed perfectly normal.
She couldn’t help but ask her brother about his relationship with Wushuang. He said it was completely over.
She was angry and casually ntioned that Wushuang had co to London because she heard he was getting married to Fang Jiaqi, but her brother seed completely unmoved, his expression indifferent.
Chu Chu always found it strange. Her brother wasn’t a cold-hearted person, and he clearly had feelings for Wushuang; he was deeply in love. So why was he so cold and heartless, insisting on rejecting her? She couldn’t understand it.
Even hearing such things didn’t elicit any reaction from him. Sotis she really wondered what could possibly change his expression. She had rarely seen him lose his temper since childhood. Everyone said Ye Ningyuan had a good temper, going years without a single outburst, but her brother seed to have even more composure and patience. Chu Chu could count on one hand the number of tis she had seen him lose his temper; most of the ti, he was indifferent to everything.
Indifferent to life and death, indifferent to provocation, indifferent to setbacks, and indifferent to the feelings he wanted or didn’t want.
She knew her brother was hiding sothing from her. Wushuang and Kaka weren’t always together, so many details went unnoticed. But Chuchu was different; she was his sister, and she’d sense anything unusual about him.
But she just didn’t know what her brother was hiding. Every ti she sensed sothing, she thought it was unlikely.
Chuchu knew that if her sister Wushuang really left this ti, the chances of her brother pursuing her again would be almost zero. They would truly have no more opportunities. Wushuang was so proud; she’d given her brother two chances, so there wouldn’t be a third.
She would truly give up. What about her brother?
There’s a saying, "The emperor isn’t worried, but the eunuch is," which perfectly describes this situation. Her brother and sister Wushuang seed unconcerned, no argunts, no falling out, just a peaceful separation. Chuchu was truly anxious. She wanted to find an excuse to keep Wushuang, to prevent Wushuang from leaving with Guimian or Long Chengtian. In little Chuchu’s eyes, both of them were threats to her brother.
But she also knew clearly that even if her brother spoke up himself, he probably couldn’t keep Wushuang.
Long Chengtian left the First Terrorist Organization first. He had co to pick up Wushuang, but she insisted on not going to Russia. Guimian had business to attend to, so she went with him to the Philippines, and they would talk about it later.
Long Chengtian had a bad temper, and in a fit of anger, he stord off.
Wushuang didn’t care; it was perfectly normal for Long Chengtian to lose his temper. Once he confird that she was alright, Long Chengtian wasn’t worried. As soon as he left, Mo Yao and Mo Xiaobai breathed a sigh of relief. Just as the brothers had wished, Long Chengtian didn’t want to stay and be teased by Mo Xiaobai, so he decisively left.
Zhou Muhan invited Mo Xiaobai, Mo Yao, Wushuang, and Guimian to have drinks. The plane landed at the First Terrorist Organization’s tarmac in the evening. There was no rush; they still had ti to get together. Zhou Muhan had no objections to the situation. He and Kaka were tacitly aware of the Zhuque matter, and Mo Yao was even more so. Those people definitely needed to be put to the test, otherwise they wouldn’t know their place. Although he valued Zhuque’s abilities and intelligence, the First Terrorist Organization had no shortage of such things. Give him two years, and he could still cultivate a Zhuque himself.
It wasn’t like she was indispensable. Fang Jiaqi had strong opinions about this, but it was Kaka’s business, none of their concern.
Zhou Muhan had heard everything about Kaka and Wushuang from Chu Chu. They had drinks at the First Terrorist Organization’s coffee shop, but Kaka wasn’t there. Chu Chu said his brother was in his study, discussing matters with the European intelligence departnt and didn’t have ti to co.
To everyone else, this was just an excuse for Kaka to avoid Wushuang. He was in the First Terrorist Organization; what could possibly require his personal attention? Kaka probably considered that eting Wushuang would be awkward, so he avoided seeing her.
Wushuang didn’t care, drinking her coffee and discussing the Philippines with Guimian.
Zhou Muhan and Mo Xiaobai chatted happily; n have many topics to discuss.
Mo Yao left midway through.
Kaka was doing a puzzle alone in the living room, not handling any official business. When Mo Yao ca in, he saw him sitting alone on the living room floor, working on a puzzle. He loved doing these kinds of complex puzzles, supposedly to train his endurance. Mo Yao thought Kaka basically didn’t need to train his endurance; his endurance and focus were unparalleled.
Seeing Mo Yao co in, he slightly raised his eyes, "Leaving tonight?"
"I thought you didn’t know." Mo Yao smiled coldly.
Kaka didn’t say a word, concentrating on the puzzle, single-mindedly. Mo Yao looked at the puzzle; he had already completed half of it—a red rose against a background of blue sky and white clouds.
"There’s sothing I still don’t understand. Why did you reject Wushuang twice?"
