Wushuang narrowed her eyes with an indifferent expression. Regret? Ghost Face knew better than anyone the loneliness and helplessness of having no equal. Regret? How could she? She had never done anything in her life that she regretted.

This kind of competition between equals was sothing any capable person would never regret.

She was even beginning to look forward to this day.

Ghost Face and Wushuang went their separate ways in the garage. Neither knew what the other was there for, but one thing was clear: their target was the vault on the sixth floor. Ghost Face left first.

Wushuang was bold yet ticulous. She always had a well-thought-out plan, and this heist was no exception.

Knowing the blueprints of the villa and its chanisms, Wushuang easily avoided the traps and surveillance. She began climbing up the elevator shaft. She slightly regretted not going with Ghost Face, not for mutual support.

Now that she was in Devil’s Castle and Ghost Face was too, if he were to be shot and killed, that would be fine, and it would all be over. But if he was caught, he might expose her.

She knew the map and the way up. If she led the way, it would be difficult for anyone to find them. And with their skills, cooperation would be more beneficial than rivalry, at least for tonight. They should be working together.

But she noticed so dirt marks on the elevator shaft. It dawned on her that Ghost Face must have also climbed up the elevator. Just as Wushuang was about to reach the fifth floor, the elevator suddenly started moving up. Wushuang was startled. The elevator and the cables scraped against each other, sparks flying. The dark space illuminated Wushuang’s slightly alard face. The elevator was fast, getting closer and closer. The sound of the brake and cables rubbing against each other was like a form of torture, heart-stopping and terrifying.

Just as the elevator was about to reach the sixth floor and crush Wushuang into a pancake, she was ready to disable the brake to stop the elevator from going up. But once it passed the fourth floor, the elevator’s speed slowed down. Wushuang breathed a sigh of relief. *Thank goodness!*

Devil’s Castle had only one elevator. Its interior design had no extra space to hide. If the elevator had gone all the way up, Wushuang would have been in danger. Her only option would have been to disable the elevator’s brake.

This was the worst option. Once the elevator’s brake was disabled, the elevator would be broken. It would be fine if no one ca to fix it in the middle of the night, but if the castle guards ca to fix it, that would create a major problem.

So Wushuang wouldn’t disable the elevator’s brake unless it was absolutely necessary.

Luckily, the elevator stopped at the fifth floor.

The fifth floor was the information and surveillance room. The fourth floor had a few guards’ living quarters, as a precaution against any sudden ergencies. The elevator slowly went back down. Wushuang pried open the gap in the elevator door, took out a chip-like object from her small bag, and stuck it on the outside of the elevator door. It was a video scrambler.

This small, inconspicuous device was specially researched and made by Mo Jue for Ye Wei and Wushuang. Since Ye Wei and Wushuang loved to go on adventures, Mo Jue knew his wife and daughter wouldn’t listen to him and stay ho. So he created these scramblers. When they went on an adventure, they could use it to bypass the surveillance.

This was the only way to get up the elevator. The other option was to make a hole in the ceiling and go directly into the vault, but that would be too dangerous. Once a hole was made and a person entered the vault, the weight sensors inside would react. Before she could disable the chanisms, she wouldn’t do that. It was too much of a risk.

After sticking the scrambler on, Wushuang pried open the elevator door and nimbly climbed out. There were eight surveillance caras rotating in the hallway. She quickly passed through the hallway. To prevent anyone from getting suspicious, each scrambler had a limited ti fra, which could be set according to her needs. The scrambler she just used would only work for five minutes. So from the mont she pried open the door to getting through the hallway, she only had five minutes.

In the fifth-floor surveillance room, the screens showed a bunch of white and distorted images. Everything was covered in static, and nothing could be seen. One of the guards asked with a sensitive tone, "What’s going on?"

The technician checked the cara’s signal and connection, frowning in confusion. Suddenly, his eyes lit up, and he said lightly, "The cable ca loose."

"Fix it quickly."

He called the surveillance room on the first floor to ask about their situation. They said everything was normal, no one had entered, and the images were fine. In less than five minutes, the cable was fixed. The image was still a bit fuzzy, but a blurry outline of movent was visible. A minute later, it was completely normal. This surveillance room monitored everything from the first floor to the sixth. The information officer started checking from the sixth floor and searched each floor, but found no suspicious signs.

There were eight people in the surveillance room. So were chatting, and so were working. One of them said, "Tonight is strange. First, soone ca in to steal sothing, and now the surveillance feed has a problem. Did soone get in?"

One person laughed loudly and said, "Who has the skills to get in? Everyone who gets in leaves in a body bag. It would be impressive if soone even made it to the first floor’s main hall. The most skilled one only made it to the third floor, and no one has ever made it to the fifth."

"You have a point."

"These people really have a death wish, trying to steal from Devil’s Castle. They clearly don’t want to live."

"Haha, the Duke is truly amazing. Who knows where he hired that designer? This castle is impregnable. No one can break in."

...

Wushuang had already arrived at the vault door. She knew all the chanisms of this castle and how to avoid them from the bottom up, but the sixth-floor chanisms couldn’t be avoided. The only way was to disable the main power switch, but that would imdiately get her discovered.

There were no guards on the sixth floor, but the surveillance cara at the vault door was still rotating. She stood in a blind spot, thinking about how to get in. She suddenly heard a faint sound. Wushuang’s body tensed. She turned her head and saw a shadow darting towards her.

It was Ghost Face.

Wushuang had assud Ghost Face was already here, but to her surprise... he was right behind her. So who left the tracks in the elevator? They looked like they were made just monts ago.

The two of them stared at each other for a mont. The atmosphere around them grew tense. There were only two blind spots in front of the vault door, and each of them occupied one. Wushuang asked, "Didn’t you get up here before ?"

"I realized I forgot sothing, so I went back down," Ghost Face replied coolly, his voice devoid of warmth. He looked at the vault door. "Do you have a way to get in?"

Wushuang smiled lightly, not answering. She checked her watch. "I have all night. There’s no rush."

"I’m in no rush either," Ghost Face said.

Wushuang smiled coldly. "Looks like you’re determined to follow ?"
