Ji Muran silently went to the bathroom to use disposable toiletries. When she ca out, Shen Wenzhou had already laid out breakfast in sections, just waiting for Ji Muran.
Ji Muran walked over and sat down next to Shen Wenzhou, bringing up a hint of curiosity, "Don’t you have to go to work today?"
"Yes." Shen Wenzhou responded briefly, casually cracking a hard-boiled egg and quickly peeling it, then handing it to Ji Muran.
Ji Muran hesitated for two seconds before taking it, "Thank you."
Shen Wenzhou didn’t say anything and started eating breakfast himself. Worried that eating breakfast at ho would make him late, he hadn’t eaten earlier, just had the maid prepare it and bring it over.
The two didn’t speak, each eating breakfast quietly, but the atmosphere wasn’t awkward.
After finishing breakfast, Shen Wenzhou took the initiative to clean up the dishes while Ji Muran tidied up and prepared to be discharged from the hospital.
When both were ready and about to leave, Shen Wenzhou reminded Ji Muran, "You haven’t taken your dicine."
The doctor had prescribed Ji Muran three doses of dication and specifically reminded them to finish it, so Shen Wenzhou reminded her.
Hearing about the dication, Ji Muran instinctively furrowed her brows, showing a pained expression.
They locked eyes, and Ji Muran knew she couldn’t escape it. She turned and poured a glass of warm water, dutifully preparing to take her dicine.
While taking the dicine, Ji Muran maintained a painful expression as if she were taking poison.
After finally finishing her dication, Ji Muran grinned and mumbled, "We can go now!"
However, as she turned around, she saw Shen Wenzhou extending his hand towards her. Ji Muran was startled by Shen Wenzhou’s unexpected move.
Once she regained her composure, she looked at Shen Wenzhou and then at the hand he extended towards her.
At this mont, Shen Wenzhou’s palm held seven or eight colorful fruit-flavored candies.
Ji Muran widened her eyes slightly, looking at Shen Wenzhou, and asked with so doubt, "Is this for ?"
"Yes." Shen Wenzhou nodded. While Ji Muran was still in a state of surprise, he placed the candies in her palm, "I bought these from the hospital’s small convenience store on my way in. One piece will remove the bitterness."
Ji Muran rembered that yesterday Shen Wenzhou had jokingly asked if she wanted him to buy her so candies, and she had asked, "Can you?"
Today, he bought them for her.
Thinking of this, Ji Muran felt a slight burning sensation in her eyes.
Her mother had passed away early, and later she had a stepmother. The stepmother deliberately bullied her, making her hungry and cold, so she was often sick and had to take dicine.
No one likes taking dicine, especially not a child with no self-control, so every ti she was sick, she would cry and refuse to take it.
The woman just wanted to see her cry and cause a fuss. When Ji Muran refused to take dicine, the woman would force it into her mouth.
There was a ti when she was forced to take so many different dications that it was a stroke of luck she wasn’t poisoned by the chaotic mix.
So when she grew older, understanding that taking dicine as prescribed was normal, she wouldn’t petulantly refuse. Instead, she would buy herself a heap of sweets to eat imdiately after the dicine.
