Shen Yi knew that he and Ye Wanwan were getting along very well now, but sotis, he felt sothing wasn’t right, as if it shouldn’t be this way.
A voice told him that Ye Wanwan didn’t really love him now!
He seed to harbor so machismo, feeling that Ye Wanwan should deeply love him, love him to the point where her world consisted only of him.
Shen Yi didn’t understand why he had such thoughts; he never believed that a wife should revolve entirely around her husband.
Why did he, now that he was married, subconsciously think that Ye Wanwan should be that kind of person?
Ye Wanwan, that delicate little princess, obviously needed to be pampered by others.
"Sorry for calling so late..."
"Aren’t you coming back the day after tomorrow, when..."
Two voices started at the sa ti, both eventually stopping, followed by silence, as if waiting for the other to speak first,
Ye Wanwan waited a few seconds, and seeing that Shen Yi didn’t speak, she continued, "Aren’t you coming back the day after tomorrow? I’ll take ti off to pick you up at the airport."
Shen Yi felt his throat dry and slightly itchy, his thin lips moved, "Is it convenient for you to take ti off?"
Ye Wanwan didn’t answer Shen Yi; after quite a while, she then feigned anger and asked, "Are you doing this on purpose?"
He knew full well that her shift mostly involved slacking off, yet he asked if it was convenient for her to take ti off. Did he think she was like him, working to the brink every day?
Shen Yi suddenly laughed, the earlier unease and peculiar irritability completely vanished.
He defended himself gently, "I’m not."
"Hmph!" Ye Wanwan snorted coldly, but she still straightforwardly said, "Rember to send your flight details after you confirm the ti, otherwise I won’t know when you’re coming back."
"Okay, I will send them," Shen Yi said.
"It’s so late now, you should stop working and go to sleep," Ye Wanwan thought Shen Yi had been working until now, nearly two in the morning. Did he have to be so driven?
Shen Yi didn’t explain anything, "Alright, you should also go to sleep, good night."
"Good night," Ye Wanwan said sweetly, and then she hung up the phone.
Assistant Chen had been standing inside the door for a while, hearing that the conversation had ended, he ca out with the phone.
Then Assistant Chen noticed that Manager Shen’s expression was no longer as bad as before. So did Manager Shen suddenly say he was going back because of sothing related to soone at ho?
Now it seed like everything was fine. Were they still in a rush to go back?
Assistant Chen wasn’t clear on the situation, but he was soone who knew the rules; he didn’t ask any further.
He reported the flight situation to Manager Shen truthfully, "Manager Shen, there’s a thunderstorm tonight; all flights have been canceled. Tomorrow morning’s flights will depend on the situation."
"Are we still going?" Assistant Chen asked.
Shen Yi didn’t hesitate and said one word, "Back."
He still missed Ye Wanwan a lot. Just hearing her voice wasn’t enough; he needed to see for himself that she was okay.
He had to go back.
"Alright, I’ll go book the tickets," Assistant Chen didn’t raise any questions, just followed Shen Yi’s instructions and went to his tasks.
Shen Yi turned and went back to his guest room, with all that had happened, he wasn’t sleepy at all.
After standing in the living room for a while, Shen Yi decided to first take a shower in the bathroom and change out of his sweat-drenched pajamas from the nightmare.
Once he had tidied up, Shen Yi returned to his desk and sat down to continue working.
