"Yeah." Ye Wanwan seed sowhat distracted, her voice as quiet as a whisper of a mosquito.
Shen Yi, however, seed not to trust her fully, insisting that she take out her phone and not relenting until he saw her put his WeChat at the top of her chat list.
There was no spare ti for Shen Yi to delay any further, so he picked up his luggage and went downstairs.
Ye Wanwan followed behind Shen Yi like a little tail, and after watching his car drive away, she turned and ran to find Taozhi.
She could sleep with Taozhi in her arms tonight!

On the first day of Shen Yi’s business trip, Ye Wanwan didn’t feel much different. She got up, washed, had breakfast, and then went to work as usual.
When she returned ho in the evening and lay in bed playing with her phone after her bath, Shen Yi called her. They chatted about so trivial matters, and hung up after the fifth minute.
Ye Wanwan played five-on-five gas with Yu Qiqi, Su Hang, Zhang Zixuan, and Xiusi.
They played until late into the night, and it was only with reluctance that she put down her phone, thinking about getting up early for work the next day.
This routine continued throughout the weekend, and Shen Yi’s departure seed to have no impact on Ye Wanwan whatsoever.
On Saturday, Ye Wanwan went back to the Ye Family alone. On Sunday, she didn’t visit the Shen Family, but instead went out to dinner with Song Ziyi and the others.
Lu Ning had been away on a business trip for a month, and after returning, she slept all day long, exhausted. The following day, she finally gathered enough energy to et up for a date with her besties.
The four friends gathered, and although they had nothing important to discuss, they still talked for hours on end.
It wasn’t until after ten in the evening that they parted ways and went ho.
Ye Wanwan had just gotten in the car when she received a ssage from Shen Yi. After she replied with an emoji, he imdiately made a video call.
"You back?" Shen Yi asked.
"Yeah." Ye Wanwan nodded vigorously, her face beaming with an unconcealed smile that made it obvious she was in a great mood.
The light in the car was dim, and because Ye Wanwan kept smiling, she appeared a bit dazed.
"Did you drink?" Shen Yi inquired.
"No." Ye Wanwan imdiately denied, "We’re trying for a baby, so I can’t drink."
After a few seconds, Ye Wanwan solemnly added, "We have to be responsible for the baby."
Unable to suppress a smile at the corner of his mouth, Shen Yi nodded in agreent, "Yeah, we have to be responsible for the baby."
"So you have to rember to drink less when you’re socializing," Ye Wanwan admonished.
"All right."
"By the way, did it rain over there today?" Ye Wanwan suddenly rembered.
"Yeah, it did in the afternoon," Shen Yi answered.
"I rember when I packed your luggage, I only put in shirts and suits. It might be cold if it rained."
"It’s fine, the temperature didn’t drop."
"Don’t be careless, the temperature difference between day and night is quite significant there. You need to take good care of yourself," Ye Wanwan reminded.
"How many more days till you co back?"
Ye Wanwan continued to talk, but Shen Yi was suddenly startled when she said, "You need to take good care of yourself."
That phrase echoed in his mind like a spell, feeling strangely familiar, as if soone had said it to him before!
A surge of inexplicable sadness rose in his heart, causing Shen Yi’s heart to ache as if he were a heart disease patient, almost leaving him breathless.
