Zhou Ruoyu was fuming with anger, yet she didn’t even have the courage to talk back.
The scolding outside continued as Zhou Ruoyu sat there dazedly, and after a long while, she suddenly crouched down to start cleaning up the ss on the floor.
Shen Wenzhou went upstairs to find Taozhi. His bedroom was originally on the second floor, but after moving in with Chaochao, he shifted to the third floor, so Taozhi would generally go up to the third floor.
"Taozhi!" Shen Wenzhou arrived at his room, looked around, but still didn’t see Taozhi anywhere. Just as he was about to go out to search, he seed to hear a faint sound.
Shen Wenzhou stopped in his tracks, listening carefully for any real sound.
After silently listening for a few seconds, Shen Wenzhou was certain he’d heard sothing and quickly turned around, softening his voice as he called out, "Taozhi."
"ow~"
The weak voice of Taozhi ca through, and Shen Wenzhou bent down, laying flat on the floor, then saw Taozhi under the bed, her eyes glinting.
"Taozhi, how did you get here? Co here!" Shen Wenzhou lay on the floor and reached his hand under the bed, trying to reach Taozhi.
Taozhi continued to ow weakly. The space under the bed was dark, and Shen Wenzhou couldn’t see Taozhi’s condition clearly, so he tried to coax her out.
And so, Shen Wenzhou lay on the ground for several minutes before Taozhi finally moved towards his outstretched hand.
Shen Wenzhou touched Taozhi, but he didn’t dare to pull her out directly, afraid it might make her uncomfortable; instead, he moved his hand back slightly to let her follow on her own.
Eventually, Taozhi ca out from under the bed herself, but it seed she had used up all her strength and lay on the floor, unwilling to move anymore.
With each cry, her eyes blinked, as if they might close at any mont.
Shen Wenzhou could tell she was very weak.
Rembering what the veterinarian had said before, Shen Wenzhou’s heart rose in his chest.
"Taozhi, what’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable?" Shen Wenzhou carefully picked up Taozhi.
In Shen Wenzhou’s arms, Taozhi showed no resistance but breathed very rapidly.
Shen Wenzhou realized what was happening and his eyes imdiately reddened. He took a deep breath and held back his tears.
"Don’t be afraid, Taozhi, I’ll take you to the hospital!" Shen Wenzhou said, turning to walk out.
As he went downstairs, he happened to et Shen Yi, who had just gotten up. Seeing Shen Wenzhou in such a rush, Shen Yi quickly asked, "What’s the matter?"
"Taozhi is feeling very unwell!" Shen Wenzhou said with reddened eyes looking at Shen Yi, resembling how he would seek out his father with teary eyes when he was very young and encountered a problem.
Shen Yi looked at Taozhi in Shen Wenzhou’s arms. Actually, he wasn’t fond of small pets like cats and dogs, but he had kept Taozhi in his last life, and this life as well.
Over the years, Taozhi had long beco a part of their family, and now seeing her unwell, Shen Yi was also worried.
"Wait for , you go upstairs and wake up Chaochao," Shen Yi said, then turned and went back to his bedroom.
Eventually, the driver drove them, a family of four, to the pet hospital.
However, after a series of checks, the results given by the doctor were far from good.
