"So I can’t have Zhouzhou as my son-in-law?" Song Ziyi said with a dejected face, looking very gloomy.
She liked Zhouzhou so much and wanted him to be her son-in-law, but she ended up having a boy, and now all her hopes were dashed.
Zhouzhou didn’t understand what the adults ant, but seeing that Auntie Song seed unhappy, he said earnestly and seriously, "Auntie, you can’t say things like that; little brother will be upset if he hears them."
The milky voice of a child ca through, and everybody turned to look. In the end, Song’s mother scolded Song Ziyi again, "Exactly, hearing such words, the baby might think you don’t like him!"
Song Ziyi pursed her lips and didn’t say anything more.
But everyone knew that Song Ziyi really didn’t dislike her baby; she was just speaking off the cuff.
Ji Yunting was feeling conflicted about missing out on his precious daughter, but at the sa ti, he felt a bit relieved. If he really had a daughter, he’d have a lot more to worry about in the future.
Like how Song Ziyi insisted on having Zhouzhou as her son-in-law, Ji Yunting didn’t think that was OK at all. His beloved daughter wasn’t soone just anyone could match with, was she?
However, Song Ziyi was only quiet for a mont before her fighting spirit was reignited.
"Wanwan is definitely going to have a daughter, don’t worry, we’re still going to be related by marriage!" Song Ziyi said with utter conviction, as if she had X-ray vision and had already confird that Ye Wanwan was carrying a girl.
Shen Yi, who had been silently standing in a corner, couldn’t help but frown when he heard this and glanced over.
He, of course, hoped for a daughter as well, but why should his daughter marry Song Ziyi’s son?
If Ye Wanwan gave birth to a daughter this ti, she would undoubtedly be pampered and adored as she grew up. His dearly raised little girl, why should she have to marry soone else when she grew up?
The Shen Family certainly wasn’t unable to provide for her!
Shen Yi’s brows tightly furrowed, and suddenly, when he caught Ji Yunting’s eye, a flash of hostility filled Shen Yi’s eyes, while Ji Yunting just burst into laughter.
...
That night, when they got back ho, Ye Wanwan excitedly said to Shen Yi, "Didn’t you say Ziyi had a daughter? Why did she have a son now?"
Shen Yi was sowhat distracted, but upon hearing Ye Wanwan’s words, he couldn’t help but reply, "In this lifeti, lots of things have changed, so I can’t be certain."
After a pause, as if he felt his response was too perfunctory, Shen Yi added, "In my previous life, I just t that girl, so I knew Song Ziyi had a daughter."
"Perhaps there was sothing else between Song Ziyi and Ji Yunting before this child, but I just don’t know about it."
Ye Wanwan understood what Shen Yi ant, indeed, many things had changed in this life, like herself, now expecting a second child, which hadn’t happened in her previous life.
And maybe, as Shen Yi said, there might have been other things between Song Ziyi and Ji Yunting in their previous lives that outsiders didn’t know about.
Ye Wanwan nodded, and when she turned back, she saw Shen Yi frowning slightly, as if burdened with worries.
"What’s wrong?" Ye Wanwan asked softly.
Upon hearing her voice, Shen Yi ca back to his senses and looked at Ye Wanwan. After hesitating for a few seconds, he still couldn’t resist saying, "Wanwan, if we have a daughter, you can’t agree to Song Ziyi’s request."
