Ye Wanwan woke up feeling as if her entire head was groggy, despite having slept for so long, she felt as if she had not fully woken up.
This made her wonder if she was possibly running a fever. She had underdressed when she went to pick up Zhouzhou yesterday afternoon and then stood at the school gate for about fifteen to twenty minutes.
After taking a deep breath, Ye Wanwan did not lie back down to continue sleeping; instead, she got up, freshened up quickly, and went downstairs to eat.
It was a long ti before Ye Wanwan felt that her head was no longer so heavy.
In the afternoon, Ye Wanwan did not take a nap. She sat in the living room, watching TV and playing with her phone until it was ti to pick up Zhouzhou from the kindergarten.
Shen Yi had a social engagent in the evening, so Ye Wanwan and Zhouzhou ate dinner by themselves. After dinner, they rested for a while. Then Ye Wanwan took Zhouzhou back to the bedroom, helped him bathe, and then put him to sleep.
Watching Zhouzhou fall asleep, Ye Wanwan returned to her bedroom to shower and rest.
Shen Yi didn’t co back too late, only a little after ten o’clock. After going upstairs, he first checked on the children’s room to ensure Zhouzhou was sleeping soundly and then carefully retreated.
When Shen Yi returned to his bedroom with Ye Wanwan, he discovered that Ye Wanwan had already fallen asleep as well.
Shen Yi was slightly surprised, but still unconsciously lightened his movents, being very careful with every action to avoid accidentally waking Ye Wanwan.
The next day.
Ye Wanwan was woken up by her alarm clock and struggled to get out of bed as Shen Yi was just finishing his morning routine.
Knowing his persuasion would be futile, Shen Yi did not try to convince her otherwise but instead told Ye Wanwan, "I’m going on a business trip to C City this afternoon; it will be about a week."
He had planned to tell her the night before, but he didn’t expect her to be asleep when he arrived.
"Mhm, okay," Ye Wanwan nodded and responded, followed by an irrepressible yawn.
Shen Yi doubted whether Ye Wanwan had really heard what he said. "You’ll have to take good care of Zhouzhou for the next week."
"No problem, don’t worry. I’ll take good care of Zhouzhou," Ye Wanwan replied, sowhat perfunctorily, and slowly moved out of bed to freshen up.
Because of the business trip in the afternoon, Shen Yi did not go to the company that morning. After dropping Zhouzhou off at kindergarten, he returned ho with Ye Wanwan.
Shen Yi was packing his luggage in the walk-in closet; Ye Wanwan leaned against the doorfra, quickly scrolling through C City’s weather forecast on her phone.
After confirming that the weather in C City was also quite cold, Ye Wanwan walked over and put two down jackets into Shen Yi’s suitcase.
"You need to pack warr clothes. The temperature in C City is about the sa as here," Ye Wanwan said.
Shen Yi slightly looked up at Ye Wanwan. He was going to attend a summit, and these casual sports-type down jackets were not suitable.
The two locked eyes for quite a while, Ye Wanwan blinked innocently, as if suggesting that she had specially packed his luggage for him. Was that not right?
Shen Yi helplessly sighed. There was still plenty of ti, and he could organize slowly; there was no rush.
The flight was scheduled for a little after two o’clock in the afternoon. Shen Yi and Ye Wanwan had just finished lunch when Assistant Chen had already arrived at Bihai Bay, ready to take Shen Yi to the airport.
Before leaving, Ye Wanwan stood at the entrance of the villa, "I’m leaving now, go back inside."
