Shen Yi looked at Assistant Chen with a slight frown, "Did you drink any?"
"I..."
Assistant Chen had just opened his mouth when Shen Yi cut him off and said decisively, "You drink."
Assistant Chen originally wanted to say sothing more, but under the gaze of his boss, he chose to shut up and silently drank the ginger tea.
Assistant Chen grimaced as he finished his drink and then glanced at the old monk before looking back at his boss Shen Yi and finally said, "I’ll go get another cup for Shen Yi."
With that, Assistant Chen hurried back to get ginger tea from the monk.
The old monk chuckled softly on the side, and Shen Yi looked at him again. The monk looked at Shen Yi with a benevolent expression in his eyes, "It seems that Benefactor Shen has gotten his wish."
Shen Yi frowned slightly, sowhat puzzled by the old monk’s words.
What did it an that he got his wish?
What wish had he made?
Seeing the confusion on his face, the old monk still only smiled. As Assistant Chen ca over again with a cup of ginger tea, the monk brought his hands together, bowed slightly, and murmured softly, "Amitabha."
Then the monk turned and left. Shen Yi wanted to speak, full of questions, but before he could say anything, the old monk had already walked away.
Assistant Chen was still urging Shen Yi to drink the ginger tea quickly.
Shen Yi felt sowhat at a loss but, under Assistant Chen’s prompting, took the ginger tea and quickly downed it.
After he finished, Shen Yi looked in the direction where the old monk had left. At this mont, the monk was no longer there; Shen Yi stared at the slightly dilapidated temple, feeling an indescribable sensation in his heart.
After a long while, Shen Yi withdrew his gaze and took out his phone again to send a video call to Ye Wanwan.
Ye Wanwan, upon confirming that Shen Yi had reached the monastery, even though she could see that he was in a bit of a sorry state at the mont, still breathed a sigh of relief. At least he was safe.
Seeing the way Ye Wanwan looked, Shen Yi felt sowhat guilty. She was still carrying their baby, and yet he had made her worry so much at ho.
"Wanwan..."
"Alright, don’t say it!" Ye Wanwan could tell what he was about to say as soon as he opened his mouth. She had indeed been quite angry before, but that was because she was worried about Shen Yi.
Now that she knew Shen Yi was safe, her anger had subsided.
"It’s still raining," Ye Wanwan glanced out the window again. Though it was not as heavy as before, it was still raining.
Shen Yi nodded, "It’s okay, it’s very safe inside the monastery."
"Then, are you soaked? Do you have a change of clothes? I rember that monastery seed almost abandoned. Are there many others taking shelter there?" Ye Wanwan asked several questions in a row.
She had been there once before and had happened to see the monastery. At that ti, she heard it was nearly deserted, with only a few monks left. From the outside, it looked as if it was closed.
"There are quite a few people sheltering from the rain; the monks are helping to cook ginger tea and boil water. But there are also two children and several won there," Shen Yi reported truthfully.
Ye Wanwan understood what Shen Yi ant, but on second thought, at least he was safer there than outside.
The two of them chatted for a while longer until Shen Yi said, "I just checked and it seems that there’s no electricity here."
"Then let’s not talk for now, we can ssage each other later!" Ye Wanwan hurriedly said.
No one knew how long the situation would last; they needed to keep in contact!
