Even though it was nothing dirty, Ye Wanwan was still so frightened that she broke out in goosebumps all over.

Luckily, they didn’t chat for long before a servant ca over to remind them that dinner was ready.

Shen Yun’an and Shen Yi also ca downstairs, and Ye Wanwan quickly called out, "Dad."

"Hmm," Shen Yun’an nodded, looking at his daughter-in-law’s sowhat restrained appearance, he was sowhat at a loss for words.

His wife had ntioned several tis that the daughter-in-law was a young girl, and when speaking to her, he shouldn’t always keep such a stern face, as it might scare her.

But Shen Yun’an really couldn’t manage to make a kind and amiable face, so in the end, he gave up on trying.

Shen Yun’an passed by, and Shen Yi moved to be next to Ye Wanwan, saying with a hint of amusent, "Why are you so timid?"

"No, it’s not that!" Ye Wanwan instinctively leaned closer to Shen Yi, feeling wronged. She hadn’t been cowardly today; she’d been frightened by that He Qingyun.

"What’s the matter?" Shen Yi looked at her movent with so confusion.

Ye Wanwan glanced toward the distance, where at this mont everyone was walking into the dining room. Only she and Shen Yi were lagging behind. Ye Wanwan reached out and tugged on the hem of Shen Yi’s clothing.

Shen Yi naturally bent over, his ear close to Ye Wanwan, and then he heard her lower her voice and ask him, "Do you know Aunt He’s niece? The one by Aunt He’s side."

"What about her?" Shen Yi was puzzled.

Every ti Ye Wanwan rembered how the girl had looked at her earlier, she couldn’t help but shiver, "She just gave a glance earlier, and that look was as if she wanted to skin alive!"

"It’s as if we have so deep grievance between us, but I don’t even know her!" Not to ntion this life, she hadn’t known her in her past life either, despite living so many years!

Shen Yi was silent for a mont. He didn’t know if he should tell Ye Wanwan.

His mother, Lady Lin Xu, and Aunt He were high school classmates and had maintained a good relationship over the years. As a result of Aunt He’s connections, the He Family had gained many advantages from their family.

Half a year ago, the He Family had intended for him to enter into a marriage alliance with He Qingyun.

But he had refused.

Ye Wanwan was still expressing her confusion, "And mom and Aunt He are so weird too. Do they not like that Miss He? But if they don’t like her, why would Aunt He bring her along to our house?"

"Aunt He isn’t the He Family’s biological child, so she has always been grateful to the He Family for taking her in. Because of that, sotis she can’t refuse the people from the He Family," Shen Yi wasn’t one to gossip, but since He Xiaoran and Lin Xu were close friends, he inevitably knew a bit about the situation.

"As for whether He Qingyun has any enmity with you, I think I might be part of the reason," Shen Yi said, suddenly feeling a bit guilty.

"What does that have to do with you?" Ye Wanwan tilted her head and curiously looked at Shen Yi.

"Cough." Shen Yi coughed lightly to hide his inner embarrassnt, then told the truth, "The He Family was interested in arranging a marriage before, but I refused. Later, He Qingyun also confessed to , but I refused her too."

"How co I didn’t know!" Ye Wanwan’s eyes widened in shock.

"I..."

"What are you two lovebirds still doing standing there? Hurry over and have dinner."

Just as Shen Yi was about to explain further, he heard Lady Lin Xu calling them from the dining room.
