"You’re the silly one," Ye Wanwan retorted.
Shen Yi didn’t say anything more; he simply picked up Ye Wanwan and carried her back to the bedroom.
He set Ye Wanwan down on the bed and then knelt on one knee, reaching under the bed for her slippers.
The man effortlessly fetched the slippers and crouched in front of Ye Wanwan, holding her feet as he helped her slide them on.
After she had her slippers on, Shen Yi remained in his kneeling position, looking at Ye Wanwan as he said, "You go wash up first; lunch isn’t ready yet, I need to prepare it."
"Okay," Ye Wanwan’s cheeks flushed, and her voice was quite soft.
Shen Yi, amused, touched her head and then stood up and left the bedroom.
By the ti Ye Wanwan finally finished her leisurely wash-up and ca out, Shen Yi had almost finished preparing lunch, with only one soup still simring in the pot.
Ye Wanwan walked over, wanting to help, but unsure of where to start. Shen Yi wouldn’t let her lift a finger, "You sit down; it’s almost ready."
"Oh." Ye Wanwan hesitantly complied, but she obediently sat down at the dining table nevertheless.
Shen Yi was busy serving dishes and dishing out rice, and eventually ladled the soup too, managing everything by himself.
"Drink the soup first." Shen Yi hadn’t even sat down before he began to pour a bowl of soup for Ye Wanwan, passing it to her.
"I can do it myself, you stop fussing," Ye Wanwan said, feeling a bit awkward with Shen Yi waiting on her.
"It’s fine," Shen Yi replied softly.
Ye Wanwan felt embarrassed but seeing that Shen Yi kept taking care of her during the al, she said no more.
Throughout the al, Shen Yi took ticulous care of Ye Wanwan, eating only casually himself.
What Ye Wanwan didn’t realize was that Shen Yi simply wanted to take care of her, seemingly trying to make up for the ti he wasn’t by her side with his attentiveness.
After the al, as Shen Yi was washing fruits, his phone rang. Ye Wanwan heard it and said to Shen Yi, "Shen Yi, your phone is ringing."
"Answer it for ," Shen Yi didn’t move; he kept washing the fruits.
Ye Wanwan glanced at the phone and saw it was Assistant Chen calling. Only then did she answer the call.
"President Shen..."
"Assistant Chen, wait a mont, I’m passing the phone to Shen Yi." As soon as Assistant Chen’s voice ca through, Ye Wanwan interrupted him, quickly walking over to Shen Yi.
"It’s Assistant Chen." Ye Wanwan inford Shen Yi and handed him the phone.
Shen Yi took the call, but while speaking, he slightly furrowed his brows, looking sowhat displeased.
Ye Wanwan just watched, not asking any questions.
When the call ended, Shen Yi looked at Ye Wanwan, "I have so work to handle at the company this afternoon, would you accompany to the office?"
Not being able to bear leaving Ye Wanwan alone was one reason, but he also truly wasn’t at ease with her being ho by herself.
"Won’t I disturb your work?" Ye Wanwan asked, still a bit nervous as the mont approached.
Ye Wanwan was worried about going to the company and encountering Fang Xian. What should she do?
Even though she had been ntally preparing for a long ti, when it actually ca ti to face him, she still couldn’t help feeling scared.
After all, Fang Xian’s impact on Ye Wanwan had been too significant!
