However, Wang Rui wasn’t clever, nor did she have the ability to control public opinion, which ant the controversy had hardly begun before it ended.
And her consequence was being taken to court; as for the rest, that’s a story for later.

When the New Year holiday ended, Ye Wanwan returned to work as usual. On the first day back, the planning departnt’s discussion centered around the sensation Ye Wanwan caused during her three-day holiday.
Although Ye Wanwan found the drama from the past two days sowhat amusing from start to finish, this was not the kind of attention she wanted,
Bearable if it was positive, but such strange and quirky notoriety could impact the companies of both the Ye and Shen families.
Both companies held her shares,, and she relied on their dividends each year—she couldn’t afford for anything to affect her earnings!
After a day’s work ended, Ye Wanwan left the office on ti to go ho, while Shen Yi worked overti at the company. Ye Wanwan didn’t even know what ti Shen Yi returned.
But every day when Ye Wanwan woke up, she could see Shen Yi, who would then tell her, "I love you."
Even if Ye Wanwan heard it every day, it still made her heart race and her face flush.
This busy period continued for several days,, and before they knew it, the weekend had arrived.
Shen Yi was still occupied during the day and only managed to find ti to have dinner with Ye Wanwan in the evening.
During dinner, Ye Wanwan noticed that Shen Yi seed rather silent and asked, "Working so much, you must be very tired, right?"
Ye Wanwan felt if she had to work as much as he did every day, always busy and never finished, she’d surely break down.
Shen Yi looked up at Ye Wanwan, hesitating as if he had sothing to say.
"What is it?" Ye Wanwan sensed that Shen Yi seed to want to tell her sothing.
Seeing that Ye Wanwan had nearly finished eating, Shen Yi put down his chopsticks, his expression turning serious as he said, "There’s sothing I need to talk to you about."
Shen Yi’s serious tone instantly reminded Ye Wanwan of New Year’s Day when Shen Yi told her about being slandered on the trending searches.
He had been this serious then too. Thinking back on it, Ye Wanwan almost wanted to laugh, but she pressed her lips together to stifle her mirth.
"Okay, go ahead," Ye Wanwan nodded, trying to appear as earnest as possible, though in her heart she didn’t take it seriously.
Then Shen Yi spoke with a grave voice, "The company is preparing to have set up a new branch in D Country."
Ye Wanwan paused, suddenly feeling that Shen Yi in front of her didn’t quite seem real, as if everything around her was just a dream and it would shatter with a re mont of distraction.
Shen Yi continued, "The company intends for to go to D Country to handle the new branch. The original manager, Director Li, fell ill unexpectedly and had to return ho for treatnt, prompting the company to rearrange soone to go."
"If everything goes to plan, I’ll be leaving next week."
After Shen Yi finished speaking, he saw Ye Wanwan looking dazedly at him, her eyes filled with shock.
Shen Yi’s heart softened,, but he couldn’t avoid going abroad to set up the new branch given the importance of the matter.
"If all goes well, I should be able to return in six months," Shen Yi added.
He wasn’t sure if he was trying to reassure himself or Ye Wanwan. Six months would pass quickly, Shen Yi thought.
Ye Wanwan still hadn’t spoken. They simply looked at each other for a long, long ti, until finally, Ye Wanwan’s voice trembled—as if she hadn’t heard what Shen Yi had said before—and asked again, "Is it to D Country?"
