He had never imagined that Ye Wanwan would be married; after all, she was so young and obviously had just graduated from college. She didn’t look like a married woman at all!
"So..." Ye Wanwan began to speak but stopped halfway, though her aning was quite clear.
Xiusi was also feeling awkward. He had finally taken a liking to a girl, only to find out she was already married!
Xiusi raised his hand to ss up his hair in frustration and said with a mixture of apology and embarrassnt, "Sorry, I should have asked beforehand."
"Well, let’s play gas together when you’re free. I’m going to leave now!" Xiusi said while backing away, almost tripping over his feet and nearly falling. Turning back to look at the several people watching him, he continued with a flushed face, "Sorry, sorry!"
In the end, he ran out of the planning departnt in a very flustered manner.
Yu Qiqi gently slapped her own mouth and reprimanded, "Could you maybe not talk next ti?"
She then couldn’t help but lant, "Looks like I won’t be able to win by lying down anymore."
Xiusi ran back to the upstairs office area awkwardly. A strear who got along well with him saw Xiusi and casually asked, "Didn’t you go to ask soone out for dinner? Did it work out?"
"Don’t ntion it. She’s married!" Xiusi felt annoyed, not at the other person but at himself for daring to ask her out without knowing anything about her.
"Are we talking about the sa person? I thought you ant that new girl Ye Wanwan from the planning departnt!" his friend responded, surprised, thinking they might not be talking about the sa person.
"Yes, her. She’s married!" Xiusi scratched his head and sat down on a chair, looking utterly dejected.
"No way, she doesn’t look like it at all!" His friend was shocked, not willing to believe it.
"But the fact is she told herself that she’s married," Xiusi said, also feeling it didn’t seem likely, which is why he hadn’t thought it through before.
"That’s really a show!"
Wang Xuemin was passing by the doorway when she heard the na Ye Wanwan. She subconsciously stopped in her tracks and listened to the remainder of the conversation.
In the end, Wang Xuemin revealed a disdainful smile, thinking to herself that Ye Wanwan, already a married woman, was still not settled down, flirting around all day.
...
When Ye Wanwan got off work, Shen Yi had already arrived and was waiting for her in his car outside the company building.
Seeing Shen Yi now made Ye Wanwan extrely annoyed; she had no desire to sit with him, but in the end, she still got into his car.
"The coffee shop downstairs from the company has a new dessert that’s supposed to be good. Why don’t you give it a try?"
Shen Yi knew he had gone too far yesterday, so much so that Ye Wanwan hadn’t replied to any of his ssages all day today.
Therefore, the diligent and responsible Manager Shen left work early again, intent on doting on his charming wife.
Seeing that Ye Wanwan was expressionless and silent, Shen Yi took out the cake he had brought especially for her, opened the packaging, and then the fork, before handing it to Ye Wanwan.
"Want a bite?" Shen Yi said, his tone carrying a bit of coaxing.
Ye Wanwan leaned slightly forward, shrinking into her seat but still ignoring Shen Yi.
Shen Yi didn’t show impatience. He cut a small piece with the fork and brought it to Ye Wanwan’s lips.
Almost instinctively, Ye Wanwan opened her mouth, but by the ti she realized it, it was too late to spit it out again—it would have been too uncouth.
So Ye Wanwan glared at Shen Yi with slanted eyes.
