Elise’s brows instantly furrowed as confusion flashed across her eyes. There was even suspicion flashed across her eyes. She felt unsettled, as if sothing bad would happen. However, she imdiately tossed it aside as soon as it arrived. There was nothing for her to worry about so this kind of horrible feeling she’s feeling right now was empty.
’Zhihuan’s in front of a store.’ She thought and a sweet smile blood on her face and a blush crept on her cheeks making her more beautiful and innocent, clearly a maiden in love. With an excited heart, she quickly drove off to that store.
’He’s probably going to buy a dress or a bag to surprise . What would be his reaction when I’ll surprise him instead?’ Elise beca even more excited, making her eyes dance from the light.
It took her about twenty minutes only until she arrived at the place where Zhihuan’s signal was. She parked her car and snatched her bag from the seat and giddily got out of the car and walked toward the front of the store in rapid steps. However, her steps gradually slowed down. The uneasiness she had before resurfaced.
"What’s going on?" She asked herself in a whisper, brows tight.
In front of her was a couple of pedestrians in groups standing in front of the store. If she’s not wrong, then this is the sa as where Zhihuan was.
As soon as she rembered this, her darted around, scanning the crowd while searching the crowd to find that familiar figure she was looking for. And then, at the center of the crows, she saw a familiar face. Her eyes brightened and a smile stretched out on her lips almost automatically.
"Zhi. Zhi!" She called while making her way toward Zhihuan.
"Oh my, look at that. Are they filming, or sothing?" Gossiper A said with a giggle. After saying that, soone to her and asked.
"What’s happening?" Gossiper B asked, eyes thirsty for information as she looked at the three people at the very center of their circle.
Another person joined in on their conversation with a sly smile on her face, "Tch. Those two guys seed to be fighting over the sa woman."
"Whoa! Seriously? How lucky." Gossiper B sighed, wishing that she could experience that. Her eyes then stared at the woman in the arms of a man in a suit and her eyes widened with a gasp, recognizing the woman. "Wha-? How co it’s her?"
"What? You know that woman?" Gossiper A asked, her eyebrow raised while looking at Gossiper B.
"The woman is so pretty. She’s wearing a formal suit that seed expensive. From the way I see it, she is person that ca from a privileged family, if not from the top families in the city." Gossiper C said, looking at October from head to toe.
"True." Gossiper A nodded in agreent. "The man holding her is handso. Those sharp features make him a fine specin, top quality, ah. And then those eyes like sapphire stone. But he looked fierce, vicious, dangerous. Not my type. I’m more in the other guy. He looked stylish and outgoing. He’s also handso. From the way he carries himself, his stature, he looked like a model or an actor. Thought not as handso as the other guy, I still prefer him."
"What are you saying, the man in suit is my pick. Look at that face, so fierce. It makes my heart quiver in excitent yo. The way he’s holding his woman shows that he’s overbearing, overprotective, yet also sweet. I also want to be held like that." Gossiper C said.
"Hey, you alright there?" Gossiper A asked Gossiper B who’s face was of shock.
"Ah...Ah." Gossiper B
"You know the woman?" Gossiper C
"Ye-yes. It’s my boss." Gossiper B said, eyes imdiately focused her attention on the man who was holding her and imdiately quivered in place.
Elise furrowed her brows when she heard their conversation. But that’s not important right now. She has to get to Zhihuan.
"Get your hands off!"
Elise’s movent staggered for a second as soon as she heard this. Why? Because this voice was so familiar to her. Her heart felt like it got stuck at her throat, beating so fast like she was running in a marathon.
"Get out of my way. Get out." Elise pushed her way through until she got close to Zhihuan but...
Zhihuan gritted his teeth, face dark. He took a heavy footstep and reached out to grab October’s arm as fast as he could.
Lexus’s face was at all any better. His face was cold and eyes that seed to frost people from just his stare. The air around them dropped to the negatives with an overwhelming pressure hovered over them.
"Tch." Lexus clicked his tongue in annoyance at the pest in front of him. You heard that right. He called Zhihuan a pest who keeps on buzzing around his woman.
In a sweep movent, his long legs kicked Zhihuan’s foot that was about to set foot making Zhihuan temporarily lose his balance. But Lexus’ movent did not end there as he pushed the pest’s shoulder roughly away, successfully making Zhihuan fall on his btt.
"Ahh!" Elise scread in horror. She was about to reach Zhihuan just now and happily hug him but then he got pushed by soone right in front of her. Her heart jumped in distress and worry. She does not know why and how it all ca about but seeing her beloved man drop before her eyes, she can’t take it.
"Zhi! What happened? Are you okay? Can you stand?" Elise asked in a flurry as she checked Zhihuan’s well-being. Seeing that nothing else was wrong with Zhihuan, her heart sowhat cald down.
"Li-Lis? Why are you here?" Zhihuan asked, his voice sharp and harsh as he slapped Elise’s hand away from his face. He was so furious right now. He was only pushed by this wild man and made him fall. He was taken by surprise. The next thing he knew was when his btt hit the hard ground. He wanted to shout in pain but swallowed it because of Elise’s scream.
But then again, that was also good. He had already humiliated himself because of Lexus, he could not afford to lose face anymore.
"I...We have a date today, rember? I was waiting for you in the restaurant but you were not there yet so I went to check up on you and got here." Elise’s heart felt like being sliced every ti Zhihuan hissed at her harshly and glared at her. It shook her. Biting her lip, she endured his temper and tried to help Zhihuan.
With sweat covering his forehead, Zhihuan stood up and straightened his posture. Elise tried to help him stand up but he again shove her hand away.
"You bastard! Do you know how much I’m worth? Huh?!"
"...?" Lexus coldly looked at him, disgust clear in his eyes. "Worthless."
"YOU--!" Zhihuan felt his blood threatening to co out of his mouth but he bitterly swallowed it down. He felt like he could not talk to this man because his face was so handso and perfect that it��s making his furious. His sharp eyes then landed on October who was silent all this ti.
"Lanna! Co here! Let’s go." Zhihuan turned his attention to October instead and said to her in a stern manner. The man holding her won’t let him touch her so he can only resort in calling her to him instead. However, she seed to ignore him. He then noticed that October’s eyes were not on him but on soone else.
’Lanna...?!’ Elise’s heart jumped before dropping at the bottom of her stomach. Her eyelids quivered while slowly turning toward the people in front of her. She did not look at them at first because her focus was all on Zhihuan.
As soon as she turned and saw the woman before her, her heart stopped beating and her breathing hitched. She was instantly covered in cold sweat as her eyes shook. She was pale, looking nervous, terrified. Her eyes showed panic, but more than that, it was of guilt.
"Oc-October..." Elise’s voice cracked as she took a step forward, staggering. She had just taken a step but imdiately stopped as soon as she saw the eyes of October, cold and full of...disappointnt.
"Please, le-let explain." Elise stamred as tears started to form at the corner of her eyes. "October, please. It’s not what you think."
October’s face did not change, the sa as ever, no expression, no emotion. Only Lexus knew what she was feeling making him tighten his hold of her as worry showed in his eyes.
"Let’s go." October said, breaking her stare from Elise.
"Okay." Lexus nodded and turned around with October securely held beside him.
"Hey, Lanna! Stop!" Zhihuan’s once cheerful and outgoing façade had already ripped off of his face for a while now as his face turned vicious. He looked at the back of October while being intimately held by another man. Empty. Void. His heart felt hollow.
"Zhi." Elise cold, holding Zhihuan’s hand. She felt her heart was ripped open as she saw the look of longingness and jealousy clearly written on Zhihuan’s face. What’s more was that this look was not toward her but to soone else, to her best friend, October.
She bit her lip and looked at October walking further and further.
’I’m sorry, October. I just...I’m sorry.’
