Elise was sulking on her seat. She really was not that angry about it though. It was just too sudden that she was not able to wrap her head around it.
She turned to look at Lexus and was again reminded that the man before was a devil in an angel’s skin. Still, it was a waste not to savor this mont of feasting on a good-looking guy. This does not happen all the ti ah.
"Brother-in-law, I’m Elise. I am October’s best friend. Nice to have finally et you." She said while grinning before extending her hand to shake.
One second...two seconds...three seconds...
Elise had her hand extended for quite so ti but the man who was supposed to accept her hand was not taking it to shake. Heck, he did not even spare a glance at her nor made any movents. He just curtly nodded his head as if to show the acknowledgent of her presence.
’This arrogant and rude man...!’ Elise cursed Lexus a hundred tis in her mind but she still remained smiling.
She coughed lightly to hide her embarrassnt before lowering her hand awkwardly and put it on her lap.
’Smile, Elise. Just remain your sweet smile. Even if you are ignored at first, you will eventually get the chance of getting close to CEO Song.’ Elise thought as she convinced herself from this slightly strained atmosphere.
Elise did not back down. She continued her sweet and cheerful smile, getting comfortable on her seat.
"Is okay for to call you brother-in-law, young master Song or CEO Song?"
Lexus still did not turn to look at Elise. He appeared very indifferent about her. Even if Elise was October’s friend, he just does not feel good with her. Still, she had asked him sothing and so he has to answer that regardless of him not planning on talking to her.
"Young master Song or CEO Song." He said flatly. He does not want to be called "brother-in-law" because Elise was just a friend of October. Also, in the ti that he had been together with October, Elise’s shadow was nowhere to be found.
Elise felt her smile faltered, twitching trendously in annoyance. She felt that Lexus was cold and unfriendly but she never thought that he would be this cold to her. He did not hide his animosity toward her.
’Elise, you have to keep at it.’
October was silent all this ti during their short exchange. She saw how Elise was smiling too much on Lexus and no matter how Lexus shut her down, she would still stand back up and smile at him.
"I’ve already ordered for you, Elise. I thought that that would be for the best." October said as if she stepped in between the strained atmosphere of the two.
"Ah, yes. Thanks for that, October." Elise thanked October.
’I don’t like her looking at Lexus too much. Her smile is also starting to irritate .’
Lexus, who was always looking at the woman beside him, saw the look flashed across October’s eyes. It was fast but that did not an that he was not able to notice it. His eyes then sparkled in delight and his heart started to feel warm and sweet.
October did not know that Lexus was observing her intently. It was as if she was the only one in his field of vision and his eyes could not cater soone else.
Suddenly, October felt his hand wrapping gently on hers and his body leaned over him until his hot breath brushed on her hair and ear.
"Your jealous look is also cute." He whispered in his low and throaty voice. It was followed by a low chuckle. It was seductive enough to make October’s heart to leap a mile and her ear turned pink.
October was startled. It was not because of his sudden actions but more on the realization that she was getting jealous to her friend Elise. And this had shown on her face.
She turned her head sideways, away from Lexus. ’No. Getting jealous about that and especially to a friend is wrong. I have to calm down.’
Lexus chuckled again and his smile was witnessed by everyone in the restaurant. To have soone who does not appear much on magazines and the dia but was known to be cold and indifferent, it was a shock to the people in the restaurant who had literally stopped what they were doing and just stopped thinking altogether.
It felt like ti stood still at this mont and their eyes were glued unblinkingly at Lexus.
A stoic face and perfect body was already dashingly handso. But if that stoic face turned into a smiley face, then all colors on earth paled to his handsoness. It was a very destructive combination.
’Damn. This man is so handso that I even felt my heart skipping a beat.’ Elise thought as her face turned pink and hot. Her eyes never left Lexus.
October had finally cald down. Her jealousy was also nowhere to be found as if it was nothing there in the first place. Her face was even now back to being devoid of emotion.
But as soon as she returned her gaze to look at Elise, she saw sothing she does not expect and not want to see. It was her friend staring at Lexus with her voice got stuck in her throat and a negative emotion rose again in her. It was of anger and frustration.
’No, no, no. Calm down. There must be a misunderstanding. I should not jump to conclusions like Xixi.’ October said to herself as she controlled her emotions.
Sowhere around the city, Yun Xixi just sneezed all of a sudden.
"Elise, is there sothing wrong? Are you okay? Your face is red." October asked. Even though her voice was showing much emotion, it was still enough to know that she was worried.
"Ah." Elise was given a start. She imdiately put her hands on her cheeks to try and cool it down. She just got herself caught by October staring at Lexus. "Y-yes. I’m fine. I was just feeling hot because the sun outside was so hot."
October slightly tilted her head in confusion. She looked outside through the window and sure enough, it was dark. There was no sun anymore. So why was Elise saying this? It just does not make any sense.
"There’s no sun anymore. There’s only moon and stars."
Elise almost choked on her saliva at this. She was too rattled that she had just made an obvious blunder. This could be said that she just got herself exposed. This was not supposed to happen.
"A-hahaha." Elise awkwardly laughed. "T-this was awhile ago. I was out with soone early this morning and got exposed with the sun too much while strolling around."
"Oh. So you already have a boyfriend too." October paused as she rembered that ti when she called Elise only to find that Elise was having a go with soone, aning her boyfriend. "Yes, that’s right. Let’s have dinner together again with your boyfriend."
"Eh? What?" Elise stiffened up imdiately at this. She does not know what to say about this. But then, a popping sound was heard. It was Elise’s phone indicating of a ssage.
She was relieved to have an excuse to dodge that topic.
[Are you with that "friend" of yours? You better do what I told you to if you don’t want your relationship with him be ruined.]
It was a ssage sent from Fu Yung.
