Chapter 686: Chapter 665: She Only Rembers, He’s Called Little Brother
“I’m going to use the bathroom!”
Lina Miller nodded, then got up to leave. Just as she did, Ivy Aretha gently pulled her back down. “It’s alright. I just want to ask Mario sothing. You don’t have to avoid that!”
She was just showing respect for her, not intending her to leave.
Mario Jensen glanced at Lina, then turned to Ivy. “Ivy, what do you want to ask?”
“I want to know about what you said last ti at the primary forest in Andara Ancient Town. You said that the primary forest and I were connected. How did you know that? Can you tell
what you know?”
Originally, she had thought this was just a conflict between Mario Jensen and Michael Gordon, so she didn’t think much of it. Moreover, she later recalled the incident with David Aretha’s daughter, and Michael had helped her investigate. She didn’t expect to learn only now that she was rely an adopted daughter.
So, who were her real parents?
Here were two strangers who called her cousin and said she was the little princess of Orchid Kingdom. Even if it were so, who was her father, and under what circumstances did she beco David Aretha’s adopted daughter?
Was the car accident back then intentional or just an accident?
She initially thought it was purely accidental. Now it seed that her family background was more complicated than she thought. It was less like an accident and more like a setup.
“Why do you want to know this all of a sudden?”
A lot of ti had passed and Ivy had never asked about this before. Mario thought Michael knew and had told her, or that the past no longer mattered. It wasn’t a big deal, so he didn’t intentionally bring it up. Most importantly, the forest was now under her na. More precisely, the entire Andara Ancient Town was under her na, serving as the shooting base for Allure International.
So, he didn’t take it seriously anymore.
“I just suddenly want to know. And also, back then, during the car accident, were you the one who saved
from under the car?”
Many years had passed since the incident. She was five back then. Even though the recent car accident had triggered her mories and she rembered her big brother from her mory, a five-year-old’s mory is incomplete and unclear.
Since she rembered, she and Mario Jensen were the acquaintances, the big brother in her fuzzy mory. Yet there was another person vaguely present in her mind, her little brother, but she was not sure. She wanted to ask Mario several tis but never found a suitable opportunity.
After all, she was married, and he was too. Mr. Gordon was a very jealous person, and Lina was an insecure woman. It was a bit troubleso, so she was not actively seeking for the truth. But now things were different. From the scene at the hospital today, she could vaguely tell how deep the two’s feelings were.
Now was a good opportunity.
“Saved you from under the car?”
Mario Jensen was going to answer her question about Andara Ancient Town, but upon hearing these words, he could not help but speak first. “Ivy, you don’t rember. We first t at the orphanage. My mom took
to visit the children there. We first t there, don’t you rember?”
“The orphanage?”
It was a place that was both strange and familiar to her, where she grew up. After her rescue from the car accident, she was sent to the orphanage because no one claid her. She could still vividly rember the pain of waking up to find no family mbers around.
“How could I forget? I rember the first ti we t was when you rescued
from the wreckage under the bus. Isn’t it?”
Ivy almost guessed that Mario Jensen was not the figure that sporadically appeared in her mory. “At that ti, you were wearing a white shirt and black trousers, weren’t you?”
The question was more like a statent. It wasn’t him.
“No!”
Mario answered her decisively. He felt that before eting him, Ivy might have t a little boy of similar age who looked like him, which led to the confusion.
No wonder she asked him back when she just recovered her mory if he was her little brother, but he answered that he was her big brother.
He did not pay much attention to the difference between ‘big’ and ‘little’ then. Now he sowhat understood.
“I was wearing a white T-shirt and blue denim overalls. I ca to the orphanage with my mom. According to the timing, we didn’t know each other when your car accident happened. If you rember another little boy, it definitely wasn’t !”
Mario spoke sincerely, paused for a mont, then continued, “Regarding Andara Ancient Town, I only found out after I grew up and looked up your files from the orphanage where you stayed. You were the only survivor from the Aretha family after the car accident. Due to the accidental deaths of your adoptive parents, Andara Ancient Town changed hands. Later, you failed in your managent and it was auctioned off. The once prestigious Andara City fell into decline. So, that’s why I said in Andara that it belonged to you. But now, Michael has bought Andara Ancient Town. It’s under your na again!”
Now, all of Allure International was Ivy’s, so naturally, Andara Ancient Town, as the filming base of Allure International, belonged to her too.
“So that’s how it is!”
Ivy listened to Mario’s words, sowhat dazed. The image of that young man dressed in white kept flashing through her mind, clear yet blurry. His words were indeed distinctive and unforgettable.
He said, “Hold on, girl. Your little brother will definitely save you!”
He was one of the passengers traveling with her. That day, disaster struck. The bus overturned and many passengers died. She was protected by her mother and watched her die right in front of her. Then, she was trapped under the bus, her mother dead on the spot while she lay in her mother’s arms, waiting to die.
The rescue team was slow to arrive because the bus accident happened on a mountain road. She was almost waiting for death amidst her mother’s dead body. How could a five-year-old child bear such despair and sadness?
At that mont, a young man in white appeared, all covered in blood. A small figure word his way under the bus and pulled her out from under it. He said, “Don’t be scared, girl. Your little brother is here!”
Yes, when she had lost everything, he was still there!
Her parents protected her with their lives, and that small figure saved her with his life.
She still rembers the mont he pulled her out, she couldn’t hold on any longer, and she was swallowed in the endless night. Before closing her eyes, all she could rember was the boy she had called ‘little brother’ from the mont she t him.
