Chapter 156: Unwanted Result
Denise’s mouth twisted as she looked at what Shawn’s friend was eating. This was the first ti she saw a dish like that. It was a chicken feet in spicy sauce, gizzards and intestines in so kind of sauce and there’s liver and heart too.
She gulped hard and her eyes widened when she heard Shawn ordered the sa for him and her.
"That’s our lunch?" she said with a high pitch note.
Jo laughed and said, "Bro, order a different food for her. She might not like it."
Shawn sneered. He knew that these types of foods were new to Denise. Rich people do not eat these kinds of dishes. So he purposely ordered it.
He arched an eyebrow and said blankly, "No! She said she’ll blend well so she should eat what I ordered. Besides, she should try eating food her so called fiancé likes..."
Jo coughed twice and looked at Denise with pitiful eyes. Shawn could be childish at tis like now. But he was sure, he was only doing thing for the woman’s own good.
Too bad the two looked good together but he could read Shawn well. This beautiful woman was better off the grid because being with the likes of Shawn was not safe at all.
Denise made a sulky face in front of Shawn. She wanted to see if Shawn will reconsider on asking her what she wanted or preferred to eat.
Minutes passed but Shawn did not budge. She bit her lip and looked at what Jo was eating.
She never tried this kind of food before. Much more, those internal organs looked gross to her eyes.
Just the looks of it alone made her feel her stomach was inverting.
The foods already arrived and Shawn began to eat and said, "Dig in. Enjoy your lunch..."
He was obviously mocking her. He ate like Jo who seed to enjoy it. She stared at him blankly. Trying her best to get courage by the way he enthusiastically was eating his al.
Shawn paused and let out a deep sigh when he noticed Denise was staring at him.
"I thought you’re hungry? What? You don’t want to try this kind of foods? If you want to stay with
and keep going with that ga of yours then you have to blend to everything... like this. You know where I ca from right? I’m sure you are well aware about ." Shawn said looking closely at her.
Denise’s face furrowed, he was intentionally doing this to her. She must not let him defeat her so she quickly changed her expression into a sweet smile and said, "Alright, I will try it. I’m sure this won’t kill
anyway."
She’s so hungry to even care so she started eating. But to her surprise the taste was good and without her knowing she already ate a spoonful without pause and even copied Jo and Shawn in using her own hand in eating the chicken feet.
"Tasty right?" Jo comnted smiling as he looked at Denise fondly.
Then he shifted his gaze to Shawn to tease his friend and comnted, "She’s adorable, lucky you..."
Denise was full already and her hands were dirty so she excused herself to go to the washroom.
"Bro, think that chick suit you well. I an she’s different so why don’t you try and work things out with her. I think you deserve a better life. I heard Rita is doing well now? So I hope you too found soone and set your life straight." Jo couldn’t help and comnted as soon as Denise left.
"By the way did you et her already?" Jo suddenly asked.
Shawn’s face darkened, "I saw her thrice already from a far... She was on that graveyard the second ti crying."
Then he smirked, he was actually confused that mont he saw her crying. What was that tear for? Isn’t it too late already for those tears?
Jo sighed and said, "I think it’s ti you talk to her and clear everything up. I told you... You can’t trust the Old Man purely. We all know how cunning that man is. There must be a different side of story. You’ve been used long enough by that Old Man, you deserve your freedom. Shawn, you’re like a brother to , is it worth it? That revenge thing? Maybe it’s ti you let it go and start a new life like Rita."
"Whatever it is Jo, it doesn’t change the fact that I was abandoned. It only ans that she did not want
from the start." He said in a bitter tone.
Then he hissed, "She wanted a better life for herself so she abandoned
for that family. I was a mistake for her, the fruit of her nightmare, and the unwanted result from the monsters that molested her."
"I will bring down that family no matter what... I will show her how soone like , that she abandoned, will trample the family she was protecting so much!"
Jo sighed... Shawn was full of hatred. Since birth, he had suffered too much pain and agony... and while growing up under Old Man Skull’s wing, he was brainwashed enough to harbour such resentnt to her mother and the family where she chose to be...
