Chapter 121: Did Not Matter

The event was absolutely one of the world’s grandest extravagant, elegant and frivolous birthday celebrations.

All guests wore their baroque quality costus while a half mask was required to wear inside during the whole night and will only be allowed to remove by midnight. It was a masquerade party.

Field Marshall Chan walked towards the Ken’s table and greeted Elder Master Ken.

"Looks like your son is already chained by a beautiful lady, I’m actually more at ease to face you now since my daughter could be a pain in the ass and would definitely have given your son a headache if the marriage proposal was to be pursued..." He said in a kind and joking manner.

Elder Master Ken laughed and stood up to hug the Field Marshall.

"Haha, you know how I wanted to be in your family but I guess it’s not fated to be," Elder Master Ken answered smiling.

Ryu and Dean exchanged aningful gazes. They were not aware that their grandpa was that close to the Field Marshall though they knew that field marshal Chan was associated with their family.

But the way the two were talking to each other gave them a vibe that they had a deeper connection since a long ti.

anwhile, Karl just sighed as he observed the two boys. He with Butler Omni were actually tasked to tell the two boys about his father’s history since his dad did not want to repeat his own past over and over again. He wanted to bury all those mories instead...

He massaged his nape helplessly with the thought that he would let Butler Omni do the narration and he will just comnt in case the latter will miss a thing which was quite impossible anyway since Butler Omni knew everything by heart.

He had witnessed everything himself. He was the young boy sidekick of his father in the story at that ti...

He looked at his father with full of admiration...

The past... did not matter to him at all...

He was a changed and a better man now...

Who he is right now is what matters...

And he is proud of him...

After everything his father had gone through, he managed to reach where he was right now with hard work and by doing it rightly.

He was the best for him, no matter what others will say...

He is proud to be his son and whoever will dare ridicule him will have their own dose of dicine from him.

The lights dimd as the music started for the ball dance. Most of the guests gathered at the dance floor that was the spacious dais created in the center of the party hall. Caras were clicking everywhere since the Chan family had allowed a few of the reputable dia groups inside the venue.

Then an old man on a wheelchair entered together with a young, tall and well-built man. Little murmurs could be heard from people present and the Kens also paid attention towards that side.

"Big Brother," Rita murmured subconsciously.

Dean heard it and glared at the man while Ryu did the sa.

The dia focused on their arrival since they were one of the hottest Group right now in the business world who was obviously fighting one on one with the Ken Family.

Arya looked at the man with her sad eyes and was startled by the sudden feel of a pair of hands on her shoulder.

"Boo..." a woman in her mask tried to scare her but Arya smiled hearing the familiar voice and seeing the familiar physique.

"Don’t scare

because you’re not scary at all Denise. Wait, I thought you’ll not attend this party?" Arya said laughing.

"Well, I had no choice... My parents are in such a hurry right now to find a match for

they didn’t want to miss any opportunity that could co in this party so I should be present and follow all their request to go on dates from now on... That’s my punishnt for turning down Greg..." Denise said with an irritated voice.

Then she smiled and said cheerfully, "Anyway because you’re here guys so I’ll just play the third wheel once more. I’m becoming an expert on that lately..."

"You have no choice Big Bro but to dance with

also after sis..." she added while she made face at Ryu. Then Denise laughed out hard looking at Ryu who just smiled and shook his head.

Arya laughed too. She liked how the two bantered with each other like brother and sister.

"Those villains absolutely love the dias... Look how big their smiles are when they face the caras, "Dean comnted sarcastically.

Then he noticed Denise beside Arya. "Oh we have another beauty in here. Hmm..." he said unconsciously.

Ryu smiled and introduced Denise to her family.

By that ti, General Chan excused himself to greet the newly arrived guests of the night.

"Hmm, he is the CEO of SL Group. I t his dad already but not yet the son. Lately Chairman Lee often visits our ho. I’m just not sure what his thing with my parents... Maybe another prospect for arranged marriage... Well, that guy looks handso enough for . He even looks a little like you big bro from a distance actually... I bet he looks cool behind that mask. Going out with him would be okay I gue..." Denise comnted quite loudly but was cut by Ryu and Dean.

"NO!" both n said in unison.

Denise looked at both n with questioning eyes and Dean was the first to speak, "What we an is there are a lot of a better n out there. I have many friends and I will introduce them to you. That way you can choose better and I’m sure your parents would like them also."

Denise arched her eyebrow and although she wore a mask it was obvious that she was not convinced.

"Do you know him personally? The CEO of SL Group? I did not hear any scandal about him so far..." Denise said.

Arya interrupted the conversation, "Guys why don’t we dance first and enjoy the party instead..."

She smiled at Ryu and said, "You go dance with Denise first and I’ll ask grandpa for the first dance..."

Ryu blinked an eye at her as an answer.

"Hmm, I sll sothing fishy sis. Is the Kens at war with the Lee? But it’s weird because the Kens are professional in the business world so I’m sure it’s not about business matters. Maybe they have so personal grudge with the CEO of SL Group..." Denise whispered to Arya.

"Shhh... just go and dance for now and enjoy the party... Let’s talk about it so other ti." Arya said smiling before she walked towards Elder Master Ken to ask the old man for a dance.

Denise was pulled at the dance floor by Ryu while Dean asked Rita to dance also but the latter refused saying she did not know how to dance.

"I can actually teach you how," Dean comnted in his cheerful tone.

"No, I really hate dancing so I’m sorry. Maybe try to dance with Arya’s friend later because it seems like you like her anyway..." Rita answered scornfully.

’Is she jealous? Sounds like that to

otherwise why to bring Denise suddenly in the conversation.’ He thought happily.

He smiled widely and confidently said, "Are you jealous? You sound like you are? By the way if you happen to be jealous then I could be the happiest man in this party tonight because that would only an one thing.... But the truth is that you don’t need to be jealous because in my eyes you’re the only and the most beautiful woman in this party..."

Karl shook his head as he observed his son flirting with his own wife...

Both these boys, Ryu and Dean, are good with girls. How co he isn’t? He thought silently as he looked at his wife timidly...

Then he let out a long deep sigh before he drank the glass of wine in his hand. Maybe he needed more drink to boost his courage...
