A black sleek car with a uniford chauffeur arrived to pick Skyla up the next morning. The car was more expensive and elegant looking than her husband’s silver one.

Doran threw a cursory glance at the car as he passed by it, not understanding why it was parked directly outside his house. He had completely failed to understand what soone else was ready to do for his wife where he had effectively flopped.

This was his duty and yet he had shirked away from it and soone else was stepping up to fulfil the obligations which were his.

Skyla on the other hand was stunned to see such an expensive car which had been sent to pick her up. The chauffeur pleasantly greeted and opened the back door for her so she could comfortably sit inside.

The plush leather interior and the refreshing sll of the clean interior told her that the car was brand new and hadn’t been used much. She wasn’t quite sure how to feel about this gesture but her cheeks burnt.

It purred to life and moved with such ease that Skyla didn’t even feel it. She had never experienced such a comfortable car ride before. They arrived at the office soon and she thanked her middle-aged chauffeur, Mr. Ramiro.

"Thank you for the ride, have a good day."

"You are welco, Miss Skyla," he slightly bowed, taking his peaked hat off.

She wished good morning to everyone she t along the way and her cheerful deanour took a lot of people by surprise. People usually were in a bad mood early in the morning. No one wanted to co to the office and grind all day.

Except Skyla.

For her, this was like a reprieve and with a boss like Mr. Zyair who had been nothing but considerate of her, she was feeling over the moon.

She reached the top floor where their offices were and first decided to check in with her boss. She was even early today and was hoping he hadn’t turned up yet. To her, it was important to be here before him.

She approached his heavy door and tentatively knocked not expecting a reply

"Co in," his smooth baritone voice ca through and she felt a small shiver go through her.

"Did he sleep here?" she muttered to herself before slowly opening the door and quietly entering his office.

The early morning light filtered through the glass window of his huge office and illuminated his graceful outline. He was sitting side face to the window, his eyes were focused outside. His face half hidden while his arm was elegantly resting on his polished table.

Skyla was completely lost in the elegance of this elusive stranger who didn’t feel like a stranger to her from the very first mont she had t him.

She collected herself and made an effort to finally lower her gaze.

"Good morning, Sir," she composedly greeted him and his twinkling eyes flickered to her, holding so many emotions he was not yet ready to share with her.

"Good morning, Miss Skyla. How are you?" He pleasantly greeted her back.

"Very well, Sir. Thank you for the pickup service, you didn’t have to," she shyly answered, this man’s gaze unsettled her more than she wanted to admit.

"It’s no big deal. We want you to be comfortable," he lazily answered.

"Can I bring you sothing? Before I resu my work?" Skyla’s soft tone drumd the beating of his steady heart. Sohow she had this effect on him like no one else did.

"Whenever you take morning coffee then fix a cup too with lots of cream and sugar." Skyla smiled at his choice, it was exactly opposite to her husband, who took the blackest coffee which could ever exist.

"I will bring you one shortly. I had a request if I may?"

"Of course, you don’t ever have to be hesitant while talking to ," that tender tone of his voice snubbed any fears that were originating in her heart.

"I would like to leave the office today during lunch hour. My friend, Huria, wants to take out to lunch. I know it’s in the contract but I could be excused for today?" her eyes expectantly shone.

Zyair was looking forward to their lunch today but seeing her all excited to et her best friend he couldn’t deny her.

"Of course, take an extra hour. I know one hour is far less ti for two ladies to et up," the small hint of mischief in his voice made Skyla bite her lower lip. She understood her boss was insinuating that girls liked to gossip.

"Thank you, Sir. I will try to be quick," she slowly giggled and he sensed his room brightening up from her laughter.

"No problem."

Skyla exited her boss’s office, a happy woman. She quickly texted Huria about her plan and the permission that had been granted to her.

Settling inside her office, she turned on the coffee machine. Taking out so of the action figures she had collected over the years and which had survived Doran’s violent outbursts. She neatly placed them on her office table. Prominent among them was Kakashi’s figure where he was holding chidory.

Satisfied with her handy work, she proceeded to brew cappuccino for her boss. The tiny fridge in her office contained the cream she needed while the small cupboard on which the coffee machine rested had sugar, cups and so cookies. Her boss seed to have a sweet tooth.

Taking them out she observed that cookies were in packets and an idea hit her. She should bake so cookies and muffins for him and bring them along with her from tomorrow onwards. He would love so ho-baked goodness. Her husband never did like it but she hoped Mr. Zyair wouldn’t be as cruel to her baking.

With a satisfied smile on her face, Skyla fixed a perfect cup of cappuccino with a lot of cream and sugar for her boss. Placing a packet of cookies alongside it she took it to him and gently knocked on his door again.
