After the fiery session in literal terms, Zyair cooked Skyla’s favourite pasta and fed her with his own hands.
"Is it good?" Zyair inquired, giving her another forkful.
"Mhmm!" She mumbled while accepting more pasta from him. She seed composed now.
He still couldn’t believe that asshole made Skyla sleep on that divan the entirety of their marriage. Zyair also wondered what other atrocities he must have vetted out on her, the brutalities she didn’t even voice, even with him.
Her mood seed to have been lifted after a full belly al.
"Are you ready to open the gifts?" Zyair asked, guiding her back to their bedroom. It was loaded with gifts of all sizes and colours.
A few of them had been opened by Zyair’s security team, the ones that didn’t belong to their closed ones.
Skyla cast a wary glance at the piles of gifts but she knew she had to be braver than this. Doran had rattled her once again, she needed to do better.
"Sure, let’s do this. We have to send out thank you cards to everyone."
Zyair and Skyla settled down on their bed with red silken sheets and began to open the gifts one by one.
Skyla opened ena’s gift first. After peeling off the wrapping, she revealed a square black velvet box. Opening it Skyla revealed a note and a platinum jewellery set with diamonds studded in it. The jewellery was luxurious and yet sophisticated.
She opened the note and began to read.
"Dear Skyla,
I hope this marriage will be everything you have ever wished for. Zyair loves you very much and he will go to any lengths to keep you happy. And I have observed the sa passion exuding from you, for him. I think both of you will always lift each other and keep growing together.
Still if you ever need in any capacity I will be there for you. Don’t ever hesitate to reach out.
This jewellery was gifted to by my husband when we got married and I had been saving it for my daughter. But, God had other plans and now you are like a daughter to . So, it’s yours from now on.
With love,
ena Kincaid."
Sentintal tears swam in Skyla’s eyes reading the small note ena had left for her. She felt so honoured. Taking a small sniff she cast her glance again at the box and the jewels that lay inside.
"This is so beautiful. Look at this, Zy." Skyla then excitedly showed her husband the gift and the note his mother had given her.
"Mom has an exceptional choice and I am glad you like it too."
He then read the note with an emotional smile on his lips and side glanced at Skyla. She was in the sa boat as him as she responded.
"She is so thoughtful. This must have been so valuable to her and yet she chose to give it to ."
Zyair handed the beautiful jewellery back.
"I used to think I was unlucky for not having parents in my life, but now all I feel is pride to be called their son," he told Skyla with a slow smile.
"You are lucky."
Zyair was holding the box his mother had given him and he began to open it.
It was an intricately designed copper silverish tal box. He opened the lid to reveal a note and an antique pocket watch in silver colour and chain. The Crest of a lion was embossed on it.
Zyair took it out and rubbed the pad of his thumb on the raised design, sothing told him this had sentintal value too.
He then picked up the note, unfolded it and began to read.
"My dear son,
You are beginning a new life. A life which cos with responsibilities, commitnts and sacrifices. I know how upright a man you are so I just want to say follow your heart and never let anyone create disparities between the two of you. Communicate if you dislike sothing, have a heart to heart discussion with her. Life won’t be easy but with a good life partner, it’s always worth it.
This pocket watch has been passed down from father to son in the Kincaid Household for generations. You are our son and now it’s yours. Your father would have been delighted to hand it over and I am honoured to do it on his behalf. I wish you the world of happiness.
Love you,
ena Kincaid."
Zyair’s chest tightened with the emotions that had birthed inside his heart. He was so indebted to those two kind souls who had accepted him and showered him with overwhelming love.
He quietly showed it to Skyla, both the note and the pocket watch.
"Tiless and invaluable at the sa ti. It swells my heart to see how much she loves you," she happily comnted after reading the note and observing the watch.
Zyair emotionally nodded and carefully packed it away. They continued to open the rest of the gifts.
The real gift from Huria was a painting of Kakashi Hatake for their room. Rais had gotten them limited edition watches from a very expensive brand. Lawrence had gifted them a bottle of Pinot Noir.
Mawar had given a handmade photo album in the ani edition to put their wedding pictures inside. Erdith had brought a customised cutlery set with a very sleek design and having logos of different ani on it.
Every gift they cherished. Zyair wrapped up all the wrapping papers. He had carefully opened them so as not to tear the wrapping papers and even stored away the ribbons and cards.
Skyla on the other hand had torn open the gift wrappers. She didn’t possess the patience Zyair did.
"Let’s put them away, everyone has been so thoughtful. Tomorrow I will get so thank you gift cards and will show my gratitude to everyone for the love they had showered on us," Skyla spoke while putting away the gifts.
"Perfect, tomorrow we have to get back to work as well. Do you want to take more days off?" Zyair asked while bending down and straightening the bed sheets.
"No, I want to get back to work now. We have taken enough vacations. Work ti it is now."
Skyla joined Zyair in bed after putting away everything.
He had her securely in his arms and kissed her temple like he usually did.
"Tomorrow, we return to work. But if you ever need to take ti off, you must tell . I don’t want you to overwork and be fatigued. Just do as much as you are comfortable with."
"I will tell you my dear husband." She snuggled with him, feeling his hardness and warmth at the sa ti.
"And I am sorry you had to go through that experience. I wish I had co for you earlier."
"You don’t have to apologise. It wasn’t even in your hands at that ti. I used to take luxuries for granted but that experience taught to cherish them, it made stronger. Everything happens for a reason," she softly answered and he couldn’t help but feel proud of her.
His rough hands slowly rubbed her back while his nose rested in her hair, taking in their fruity sll, until both of them fell asleep.
