The burning question Zyair had asked himself innurable tis, the question he had searched the answer for was the last emotion she played with.
But he was done with people playing with his emotions, especially this woman who was the sole reason his life spiralled into hell. The hell he still lived in and endured everyday.
Nothing but pure vile hatred descended in his mostly serene eyes. The serenity this woman on the floor didn’t deserve from him.
"Considering he slept with soone like you, I am guessing he will be as loathso and despicable as you are or he wouldn’t have abandoned . No respectable man sleeps with a whore and leaves her pregnant."
He told her with a dismissive shake of his head, the tears burnt the back of his beautiful eyes. Every trace of that sly smile was wiped from her face.
He just wanted her gone, the last ti he had seen her he had begged her not to send him away but she showed him no rcy.
"You will regret this, Caeco and you be surprised when the truth will co forward," she replied in a mocking tone as her cunning eyes slithered to Skyla as if threatening him. Irisa knew he had a weak spot now, the woman in his arms. Skyla only watched her in disgust as she was still held close by Zyair who spoke again, unable to hold himself back. He knew this wouldn’t change a thing and yet a part of him wished she would feel a tiny amount of regret.
"I won’t, I will never regret cutting you out of my life for you have ruined forever. I can’t even let people touch without feeling disgusted. That’s what your decision did to ."
anwhile, ena had called the security. They rushed inside.
"Remove this woman from my house and she is never to step foot in here again or to be seen near it," ena sternly ordered. They held her arms, ready to remove her from the premises.
"We will et again, Caeco," she snickered, her stunning face had a slight bruise because of the slap and punch she had received.
They knew she would most likely go to the dia to tell them her sob story but right at that mont, no one cared, they just wanted her to leave.
The door finally closed behind them as she was led away. ena followed them, ensuring she was escorted out and didn’t make a fuss. Zyair dropped himself on the sofa, clutching his head with his hands.
Emotionally, physically and ntally he was exhausted. The last week had been brutal, nothing went his way.
Skyla stood closer, right between his legs and gently pried his hands away from his head and face. She then slowly took off his mask, revealing his disturbed face to her.
It wasn’t simply pain she found there, it was grief and trauma etched on every inch of it. It broke her fragile heart over and over again.
She just hugged him and he buried his face in her belly.
"Why are we so ssed up, Sky? What wrong did we ever do to anyone?" He asked, his voice twinging with burgeoning pain.
"Nothing, this world is the one ssed up, not us," she answered, twining her fingers in his hair and combing them.
"Why couldn’t she love , Sky? All I ever wanted was a tiny amount of her love. For her to look at with a smile. Today she did but for all the wrong reasons. It wasn’t my choice to be born. How was any of this my fault?" The tears he hadn’t shed in front of his so-called mother finally made their way out of his deep blue eyes and Skyla’s dress soaked them in.
"So people are incapable of loving anyone but themselves. Their narcissism has no cure. But I am happy that she gave birth to you, Zyair. We were ant to be and sotis from evil rises good. You are the goodness she birthed for ."
Skyla still couldn’t believe how evil his mother truly was. Selling her own child to be raised in a brothel. She didn’t possess a bone of kindness in her body and soone like Zyair had co out of her womb, it was so difficult to comprehend.
Zyair finally lifted his head, his eyes still shimred from salty water as he watched his girl in slight awe. Skyla’s fingertips wiped away the last of his tears. They were like tiny splinters that edged their way inside her heart and jagged it open, letting it bleed out.
Every ti she promised herself that she wouldn’t let him cry ever again, the evil people always found a way to hurt him again.
"You really slapped her. I couldn’t have ever imagined you doing that. When did my girl beco so daring?"
Bold greens lded into swirling ocean blues of his. For a few fleeting seconds they were just lost in each other’s gaze, letting them do the talking instead of their tongues. She finally spoke.
"I take my position as your guardian angel very very seriously. And it’s not my first slap, I had done it in the past as well." A hint of a forlorn smile curved up on her lips. Zyair raised his brow at her and asked.
"Who?"
"Karen, she was pissing off." The mory was like jabbing a shard of glass in her heart. She had paid a hefty price for that slap but she wasn’t going to tell that to Zyair.
But he wasn’t a kid, he knew Doran would have surely hurt her in retaliation.
"What did he do in turn?" He solemnly asked but they were interrupted before Skyla could say anything. The door opened and ena entered, she let out a sigh and announced.
"She is gone and I hope for good. I should have punched her so more."
Zyair stood up hastily, letting go of Skyla, he almost rushed to ena. Not caring in that instant, all he wanted to do was hug the woman who had proved what a mother’s love truly looked like.
He tightly wrapped his big burly arms around the petite woman and embraced her like he had never done before.
ena was slightly taken aback by his sudden action and show of such raw emotions. Her arms were still limply by her side as Zyair almost lifted her off the ground. But it was his words that left her utterly speechless.
"Thank you! Mom. I love you. Thank you for standing up for and proving a mother’s love needn’t be related to just blood. I am proud to have you as my mom."
ena tried to stifle a cry but happy tears slid out of her eyes and soon she was a crying ss in his arms as she hugged him back.
Skyla stood at a distance watching both of them embrace and cry and her eyes beca wet as well. Happy tears leaked out and dropped down her chubby cheeks.
This was such a beautiful mont where they had lifted each other and erged as a strong family.
