Sylvia was waiting for Skyla in her office. Both won settled down and Sylvia could sense the nervousness exuding from Skyla.

"Miss Skyla, firstly you need to relax. I know this is all very difficult for a woman to experience. But freedom is in our grasp so stay steadfast and take a few deep breaths."

Skyla did as she was told with a faint smile. Seeing Skyla was slightly at ease Sylvia continued.

"I am on your side and whatever you will tell , remains between the two of us. No one outside us will know. It’s lawyer-client confidentiality. Tell everything so we can start preparing the case."

Sylvia took off her work glasses and neatly placed them on the table. Clasping her perfectly manicured hands on the polished desk, she focused all her attention on the girl with red hair and her story.

Skyla cleared her throat and collected her thoughts before nodding and beginning.

"I t Mr Zyair nine years ago for the first ti. I wasn’t married at that ti and he wasn’t a billionaire. We had a one-night stand together." Warmth spread all over Skyla’s body as the sweet mories surfaced and engulfed her.

If Sylvia was surprised at the information she hid it well and just plainly said.

"I see."

Skyla lowered her gaze and continued her story.

"Soon after my father passed away and I married Doran for reasons I already explained to you last ti. I didn’t see Mr Zyair for eight years. Had no clue where he was or who he was. I never saw his face. When he ca to acquire Doran’s company and I ended up working for him, I had no clue he was the sa man."

She paused and clutched her hands together not knowing how to tell the rest of the story to Sylvia, who was reading her body language like a hawk.

"Miss Skyla! I will not judge you for anything you tell but I would need the truth," she patiently told her. Skyla nodded her head in understanding.

"He showed kindness, which Doran had never done. He took care of without even touching and I felt drawn to him and his enigmatic personality not understanding why he cared for . Until a month ago when Doran stord my office and hit again. Zyair caught him and beat the living shit out of him. To tell the truth, I didn’t feel any remorse."

Skyla let out a heavy sigh but there was no pity on her face. Sylvia had her lips bunched together in a tight line and she blinked her eyes at Skyla letting her know to continue.

"That was the day when the flood ca and Zyair revealed his identity to . He took to his house and I spent two nights there. But nothing happened between us, he was extrely understanding and caring. He even took care of my bruise. And it has been like that ever since. I run to him whenever I need comfort and he calms down but that’s the extent of the relationship we have. There is nothing sexual about it, I would never go down that road while being married."

Skyla finished with a sad smile.

"Understood, anything else you would like to add?"

"Yes, there are two more points," Skyla promptly inford her about Amber and that they had t last night because she was having a panic attack after signing the papers.

Sylvia rubbed her face in slight frustration and then pinched the bridge of her nose before speaking in a reprimanding tone.

"Skyla, you understand how badly it will hurt your reputation and case if soone saw you two together and captured a picture. He is like the most sought-after male in the city. People follow him like crazy. Even after I warned, both of you didn’t take it seriously."

Skyla knew she had made a mistake, she should have tried to be strong instead of calling him last night. She couldn’t afford to make such mistakes again.

"I apologise, this will not be repeated. We will not et again," Skyla replied apologetically.

"No contact on the phone as well. I will be talking to Mr Zyair separately, his na is going to be dragged into this so he has to be prepared."

Sylvia knew how these trials went, no stones were left unturned to drag each other’s na through the mud. This was going to be no different.

So Sylvia guided Skyla and introduced her to her legal team. Huria joined them too and they worked till night sorting out every detail and preparing themselves for the trial.

At night Skyla and Huria finally went back. Both of them were dead tired and Skyla was ntally exhausted. They slumped on the sofa in the living room.

"You alright?" Huria asked, seeing she seed lost.

"Just thinking about the future terrifies Huria. I don’t know what it holds and how I would survive."

"You are the toughest person I know. If I was married to soone like Doran I would have long murdered him and landed myself in jail." Huria held Skyla’s hands and squeezed.

"That I can imagine." Skyla laughed and the tension slightly eased from her.

"Yup, yup, and now you are going to tell what you and Mr Zyair did yesterday. Gotten to that kiss yet?" Huria playfully winked, holding curiosity, making Skyla shake her head.

"Not yet, not until I am rid of him. But I can’t get Zyair out of my mind. I don’t know what’s wrong with ."

"Awww! It’s called love baby. You, my besto friendo, are in love with him and he with you. I just can’t wait to see both of you together," Huria shrieked in excitent, throwing her hands in the air.

"And once we win this case and bury the asshole we are so celebrating."

Skyla smiled in satisfaction, deep down she knew in her heart she had desperately fallen in love with the enigmatic man in the mask.
